Today...

...Marks the day when I first began to believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour 18 years ago!

I was at a Southern Baptist Convention in Switzerland. It was an event to remember!!!

This day has passed with great rejoicing for me...knowing I'm HIS and HE'S mine.

Yes, I'm singing.

Oh!!

By the way, I meant to mention this earlier:

I've uploaded some of the videos from SGMSA. Keep checking back there because I'll be uploading more in the next week or so...

Go here to see them!!

fyi

To Whom It May Concern:

In 2 weeks I will be turning off the "Unlimited Texting Plan" on my cell phone.

I know, you're all thinking, "she's gone nuts!" I haven't. I love keeping in close contact with my friends and family and texting allows me to do so, but I can't afford to keep it any longer.

Please make a mental note not to text me after August 1, 2008. If you do, I will not be responding.

If I don't already have your email address and you don't have mine, lets swap. We can stay in contact that way or by calling each other, the way we used to before texting was so prominent.

Thank you for understanding.

Singing a song...

A new week

I'm home.

SGMSA was AWESOME!!! We had 101 students in attendance. A record for a new school's first year! Everyday was filled with music! Singing, sight reading, conducting, song writing, ear training, music theory, fellowship, meals, walking, activities, devotions, etc. filled our days allowing little free time for mischief. On top of all the required classes students were allowed to take private lessons in song writing, piano, guitar, and voice, too. Here's a picture from the balcony of the chapel we used for group singing. We also had our recital here on Friday morning. But the closing ceremony was held in the adjacent auditorium. The closing ceremony was broadcast LIVE on the radio and internet!!

I posted a video of the quartet I was part of singing at the closing ceremony on youtube. I have two videos from the recital I will be posting there soon and a few others from the two weeks in Chattanooga which will go up, too.

SGMSA in Chapel

I had more fun than I had imagined possible! God used my being there for meeting new friends, learning more musically/vocally, and showing me He is ALWAYS paying attention to us, though sometimes we lose faith by our lack of evidence and trust.

I'm still singing the songs I learned while there...

resting

I'm in Atlanta this weekend trying to catch up on lost sleep and get prepared for week 2 at SGMSA. I'm having a marvelous time! The singing is awesome, fellowship is wonderful, voice lessons are incredible, and class is great! I never imagined it could be this good! My body is tired from the physical toll singing 10-12 hours a day can have on you not to mention all the walking involved with getting to and from dorm, class, lessons, meals, etc. But it's been worth it!!!

I'm attending the school on a "yearbook scholarship". So I'm helping take the pictures! Man, I've gotten some great shots!! I'll have to post them later...I don't have them with me now.

One thing I'll mention: I have a friend who's been attending class with me and hanging out but he can't come back next week because of family vacation. So I'm a little sad. He and I have a great time...and it's like having a little brother around. But he's also been a comrade...neither one of us understand all of what is being discussed!!

Another thing, my voice lessons...I don't even know how to describe the intensity and magnitude of information given to me...with incredible results!! Dr. Knowles is the Chair of the Music Department at Tennessee Temple University and has taught voice for 25 years. I've been more excited and shocked by the ease in applying the techniques and foundational steps given by him than any other teacher I've had before. What an awesome blessing!!! All I know to say is, "Thank you Lord for working all this out and blessing me with a teacher who has such unbelievable talent!"

You better believe I'm singing a TON right now!!!
