Thursday 24th August brought yet more scenes of celebration to Headington School, as the girls of Upper Five achieved a record haul of top grades.

Almost 80% of results were at grade A* or A, with 5 girls scoring A*s in all their subjects and a further 38 girls securing straight As and A*s. 95% of passes were at grade B or above.

Headmistress Anne Coutts remarked: “We are delighted, yet again, with these results. Both A Level and GCSE have been excellent and an increase on last year. It is important to remember that they represent a great deal of commitment and hard work from the students.

It is a pity that, year on year, students are told in the media that the examinations are becoming easier rather than being congratulated for their endeavours.”
