Bringing Hip-hop to the Squirrels

We promised an update on our "individual grooves."

We've heard it said that "the six foot squirrels have done the improbable." Well they're now out to do the impossible.  A band that plays multiple genres of music is rare, but the many different personalities and tastes of the band make it possible to play a wide variety of music. Like Hip-Hop for example...

Steve has always been known for his flying-fingers guitar styling and Ducky's mad skills on the drums has always put him a step above all the rest of the drummers in this world, but lately this Dynamic Duo have been bustin up the hip-hop scene. Steve says "yea we both share a love for rhymes and such and Ducky is mean on the turn tables and I can rock the mic so we went to our record company and asked if they'd listen to us rap. They listened to us and really liked it, so it all kinda worked out". But thats not all they got going for them, Rolling Stones Magazine claims "They have a sound not like that of any other hip-hop group out there".  Ducky said in an interview with the New York Times "Steve and I never thought we would be so good.  It all just started as a little hobby thing, i'd break out the keyboard and turn table and steve justed freestyled, but hey if they like it then the squirrels will rap!" Good Morning America interviewed the two last thursday and asked when can they expect an album. The two said "Although we are good at this, our dedication is to our band and we don't want to put out an album unless we're all on it, but we'll probably put an extra track or two on the next Six Foot Squirrels album." When asked for a demo, the two didn't even bother getting their instruments. Ducky slammed out a bellydrum beat while Steve chimed in with a "C'mon baby, cut me slack/You know this life's another nut to crack." They asked that further lyrics not be revealed.

There has also been buzz about The Six Foot Squirrels possibly making an appearance on American Idol Finally but they won't comment on it.

In other news the Squirrels have said nothing about the possible concert in Bethlehem and recently when asked about the Great Stage at French Creek, The Emo said they were "really unsure of what they we're going to sing" And Mr. Personality said "No comment". Currently the Squirrels are promoting their Save The Sea Monkeys fundraiser. All money raised will go to help the sea monkeys of the coast of South Africa.

Now to answer some of the compelling questions going around, YES ben does have a teddy bear named Flow, You Do Dream when you look into Steve's eyes and NO Ducky doesn't eat glue!

Eclectic Electric

Well, the Haycock reunion didn't work out quite as we had planned. Unfortunately lead singer/bassist Joe Plowman was taken deathly ill Friday night in a bout of homesickness, but a few strong narcotics and something to wash them down took him.. to another place... He was right as rain (or at least able to walk like a zombie) by Saturday evening.

However, three key members (Ducky Duckworth, Mr. Personality and an entity only known as "The Emo") were unable to make the retreat at all.

But don't worry folks! We're collaborating on a pre-summer concert project which might take place in the town of yours truly-- Bethlehem, PA! There's a concert stage not five minutes from my house on which many bands perform during festivals like Musikfest or Celtic Fest, and it might just be time for the 6Ft.Squirrels to make a public debut. We have a small repertoire of personal songs that we're currently working on and it's only a matter of time until we get around to doing something.

We need feedback on some issues we've been discussing!

Should the Six Foot Squirrels:

A- Have a "one year later" interview session
B- Play poker
C- Try to do worship for FC in '08
D- Have a pre-summer concert
E- All of the above

Let us know, we always appreciate your input and continued support!

Much love,

Steve

P.S. We're also working on a small side project. Over the past two years, the Six Foot Squirrels have played a wide variety of music. Wanna know why? It's because every individual member has their own characteristic groove. We'll be updating on this topic next, so stay tuned!

A Ducky Production

alright, all you fans have been wondering  what we were up to these past months.  well this is what we've been up to.  as you can see we've made a few changes.  although we still play the brooms, we decided that real instruments would be fun.  so We've got Steve, ben the emo, and alex on guitar.  On the drums we've got cristian aka ducky (his name isn't spelt wrong it doesn't have an "h"in it)  and joe is still singing and plays the base.  if you want to meet the guys of the band, feel free to.  we're all suscribed to this site.  enjoy the video

A Night on the Town

While Steve and Joe got a spot on the Late Show with David Letterman,  Alex, Ben and Cristian were spotted on the outskirts of new york taking photos!  Oh by the way the Six foot Squirrels Rise to Fame concert at Madison Square Garden is now officially sold out!  The house will be packed on saturday  night!  We greatly remember those who gave their lives on this day and are very honored to be in the big apple on this five year anniversary of 9/11.  God Bless America
