What a beautiful day

We went and picked up Ava this morning.  We stopped at the jr high, and Fareway than went for a walk. We had some lunch and than ran over and visited Ryan Zinnel (and Michele and Moe their dog).  Ava had fun but it's about nap time for her.   Megan took this photo of her during our walk, Ava kept saying "cheez" so we had to snap it.  She loves the outdoors and sometimes cries when we bring her inside.  She is a busy little girl but we have lots of fun with her....

My dad called from the campout today and said that they were having a good time.  The weather has been nice there but they are expecting rain tomorrow.   Megan and I went up and saw Betty George today, she is in the hospital, hoping to go home on Thursday.  She is doing well and in good spirits.  We stayed for about an hour and than I think that Megan had wore her out.  She says to Megan, "did anybody ever tell you that you are a chatterbox?"  .. IMAGINE THAT!!! ???

Now we are off to church ...... that's all for today, kind of a slow day for us I guess

Day 2 of Fun

Today we had Miss Ava.  I went and got her about 8:30am and we had planned for Ginger and Shea to come over and we were going to walk up to the park and have a picnic lunch.  It was a beautiful day outside and all the kids had a great time.  Here are a few photos from the park. Shea and Ava loved the swings, the rocks and the food. 

they were both very fascinated with the rocks.  Shea kept trying to eat them but ginger stopped him each time.  ava was more interested in throwing them or digging.

After the hermons left Ava got a bath and a nap (much needed)  We took her home about 5:00pm and than headed over to Tyler's game (sep vs. indianola).  they won the first game 5-4  Below is tyler, in left field ... he is a hustler on the bases and in the field.   I was bummed because he didn't get to pitch, I guess he pitched 7 innings monday night .... maybe next time

I came home, mowed my front yard and showered .... i'm calling it a day ....

Did Somebody Say FUN .... ????

Since alot of folks are at the bible campout and a few of us didn't get to go I'll fill you in on a few fun things we are doing this week to help us not miss Emminance quite as badly.

Today I took two girls (Megan and Maddy Hermon) to Adventureland for a day filled with fun.  It was awesome.  We had the best time.  They are very brave young ladies.  I rode alot of the rides with them but after about 2 hours my neck could not take any more.   I now remember why I didn't like the dragon (roller coaster).  It is so jerky if you didn't have a headache when you got on, you will when you get off!!  Anyway ... some photos from the day ....

This ride is called the Splash over. It turns you in circles (like you are doing a somersalt) and goes thru a water fountain at the bottom.  This is them on their first ride ....

This is them after their first ride, they were drenched.  They decided it was fun so they'd ride it again.  Here is one action shot I got of them...

They went to the new attraction there, it's a water park called Kosomo Kove.  Here is what it looks like:

That huge bucket at the top fills with water and than dumps on the people below ... the water was very cold (in my personal opinion).

One of the last rides they went on was the Outlaw (another roller coaster).  They were in the front seat and loving it.  They rode thru twice because nobody wanted to get off.

Ta Daa

These are the (3rd & 4th grade) kids that Julene and I have had in VBS class this week .... they are full of energy and very eager to learn more about God's word.  I have really enjoyed having them, they are a great bunch of kids.

My vacation is about over, but it has been great having the whole week off.   Today I had John Lee over for lunch and we had a nice visit.  Justin was even social.  He and John figured out what the longest verse in the bible was so John could ask the question at VBS tonight, nobody knew so that was the homework he gave the kids.  Megan was at the Hermon's giving Marc a hard time, I'm sure of it   Thanks to them for putting up with her, it does take it's toll on a person most days.  I like her spending time with Maddy as she is getting very mature and I'm hoping it starts rubbing off on Megan.  Megan said she had a great time (as usual) and Maddy even gave her some pitching lessons.

After VBS tonight we went to McDonalds in Pleasant Hill for ice cream (grandpa & grandma's treat) and can you believe that they do NOT have chocolate ice cream???  What kind of a place serves only vanilla ice cream ....  I'm boycotting them now, that is just absurd.  After I drank my water there, I sent Justin home with Kyle for some cousin bonding (I guess)  and Jordan, Megan and I came home.
