In Memory of a Truly Dear Friend

I'm not sure if this is really an appropriate spot to post this, but it is with a heavy heart and saddened soul that I must say good bye to my friend Adam.  Adam passed away last night due to complications with his heart.  Adam was always on the watch for his health when we were younger.  I met Adam in High School and I have many fond memories of him that I would like to share here.

Although Adam was the center of many harmful High School jokes, he was the glue that held a lot of us together because he provided us not only transportation but a sincere friendship without strings attached.  Adam taught me how to drive.....well he let me drive his car all of time even though I should not have.  Many times he was tired or just wanted to sit in the back seat with the ladies as I drove him around.

I have a very fond memory of myself and Irving standing out in the parking lot trying to teach Adam how to dance.  Irving would pretend to be Adam and move him around while I was the girl who tried to play along.  Not only did we have a lot of laughs but helped Adam gain confidence with the ladies.  He went to prom and made us proud.

Adam would always show up in his black car at some of the most inopportune times but that was Adam and we would just laugh.  I remember having a few unsupervised parties at Adam's house that always were fun as he tried to fit in with everyone.

We had a few nicknames for Adam that his closest High School friends will never forget and we won't forget when Adam had his first real girlfriend and how happy he was and how big he would smile.

I remember going to the club with Adam, he was one of the guys around when I experienced a dance club and he was always there to provide our rides no matter what. Adam rarely got mad at us and treated us all like anyone would want a friend to treat them.

Adam was sick a lot and had some issues when he was younger that impeded him from a full range of motion, but that did not stop him from doing anything.  He was one of those people who was just always there and was never thought of to have to leave us so soon.

Adam was sick a few months ago and hospitalized for some time.  I never was able to work my schedule around to see him and I'm very saddened by that.  He fought for a long time and finally he passed on to a better place.

For those of use who knew him well, we loved him in our own way and sayw something special in his eyes.  I'm taking a lot away from this situation and how my life was and what I want to do with it in the future. I never will be afraid to see someone when they are sick even if I think they will get better because you will never know.  I also want to be more cognisant of my friends (past and present) who mean so much to me.

I'm saddened that I have lost touch with many dear friends as well as had to leave some truly special friendships behind but they will not be any less special to me.  I have always been deemed the person who keeps the group together and I embrace that quality.  I want others to also attempt to work on this quality in themselves and to learn to forgive those who hurt you and to become a special person in many lives as Adam was a special person in mine.

I will miss him, a lot!  I did not realize it until I received the news this morning.  I would like everyone to say a prayer for Adam and his family as I leave you with a small picture of who I remember Adam as.  He was young and unstoppable, always trying to make everyone happy and to like him without worrying about what people said.

Adam Fix
Your significance in my life will not be forgotten!
