Rust Ointment

Yesterday my son discovered that the new scooter that he had left out had developed a little rust on the lower part of the handle bar. I sprayed some WD-40 on it hoping it would slow the rust and satify my son. Of course, with my 10 year old who is not often satified with my solutions or answers, the problem was not solved. This morning he decided that he would spray a little "rust-ointment" on it. Let these pictures speak for themselves......

I knew I felt the planet getting warmer and now we can all rest easy knowing exactly why. Researchers in Norway say the Moose is causing it. When is Moose season up there anyway?

Norwegian Moose Blamed for Global Warming

Modern politics sure is entertaining sometimes, especially when one politically correct cause threatens another one as in Norway where that country's moose population is being blamed for contributing to global warming:

The poor old Scandinavian moose is now being blamed for climate change, with researchers in Norway claiming that a grown moose can produce 2,100 kilos of methane a year -- equivalent to the CO2 output resulting from a 13,000 kilometer car journey.

Norway is concerned that its national animal, the moose, is harming the climate by emitting an estimated 2,100 kilos of carbon dioxide a year through its belching and farting.

Norwegian newspapers, citing research from Norway's technical university, said a motorist would have to drive 13,000 kilometers in a car to emit as much CO2 as a moose does in a year.

Much like cows, bacteria in a moose's stomach create methane gas which is considered even more destructive to the environment than carbon gas. Cows pose the same problem.

Still, I don't see too much of a conflict emerging between PETA types and Al Gore followers since solving the "moose problem" doesn't involve restrictive government regulations and expensive government programs they can profit from.

I wonder how much methane a full grown house cat produces in a year.

Where would you find one of these and what is it's name?

Why is the year 1876 significant in regard to this bird? Seeing one of these birds in the wild would be impossible for North Americans. Who would most likely see one of these?
