Ah, so BFA returns with wins. So good. Guys soccer got 1st and girls got 3rd. Bruce and Sang Jin were among several to make the all tourney team. Both of them also had a couple goals during the championship games. Girls had several ties and at least two games that went into double overtime sudden death types. They came back quite late last night, tired but happy from their wins.
Track also came back yesterday. The guys got 2nd in Division II, and counting points without divisions, got 3rd out of 24 teams. Girls got 10th out of 23 teams. It has been quite the turnaround year for track. Trevor ran a 2:02 in the 800 meter. He was on fire, and for that, he won gold. It was an amazing race to watch. Everybody was way happy with the turnout of finals this year, and have their fingers crossed for next year.
These last two weeks are going to go by fast. Ah well, everybody will enjoy it.

Soccer left for Championships yesterday. So far, the guys have won both of their games, against Aviano and Bitburg. Girls beat Aviano and tied SHAPE. Tomorrow, we hope, they will win both their games and then go one to the final round on Saturday. Track leaves for Finals tomorrow. 36 athletes are going, 24 qualified and 12 alternates. Trevor and Sean have qualified, while Ben is going as an alternate. The dorm will feel rather empty this Friday without many of the guys.Track is also hoping to win, as they have quite the good chance of the guys winning. Also, 10 school records are within reach of being broken. So they are psyched.
Last night, all the guys in Sonne and all the girls in Blauen got up at 2 AM. They grabbed their stuff and did their best to sneak out of their respective dorms and into each other's dorms. It was modestly succesful. And people enjoyed it. Plus, Blauen had heard a whiff of the plan earlier in the week and had prepared food for the day, whenever it came. So the guys really enjoyed getting hot and tasty biscuits. Though one of the Blauen RAs did slam a pan on the ground at 6:30 AM, supposedly an accident, but it woke everybody up.
These last two weeks are so stinking busy. Parties, practices, small groups, everything is wrapping up and making it hectic. And kinda sad, seeing who's leaving. Anyways, another post will come with final results when they come.
Good Luck!

Last thursday was a day off. So, of course, everybody got up earlier then normal. They loaded up the vans and drove to Europa park. They got there in a decent amount of time, not being the last dorm to arrive, but definitly not the first. All the guys got their tickets and the group became individuals seeking after a fun day of rides and food and comradeship. And, all reports being accounted for, it was pretty good. Everybody rode tons of rides and ate tons of food and hung out with their friends and were thus granted a blast. Exiting the park was quite interesting, as there were many street performers to watch and get pictures with. That, and the fact that Josh M. fell into the fountain.
Saturday was the Big Home Event, with Soccer playing Wiesbaden and Track going up against several teams. Soccer won all their games, and boys track came in first, while females came in third. Trevor once again qualified in an event, the open 400, making the total of track athletes going to finals this year 15. Which is a lot more then has happened in the past few years. Brian was creeked on Sunday, and Austin was creeked on Tuesday. Lukas was baptized on Sunday. Another big soccer home game is coming up, pretty much the biggest one of the year against the undefeated and unscored-on Hiedleberg. And JSB is this Sunday. May is such a busy month, oh my.

Hey Y'all It is a beautiful day. And we hope it stays that way. This past week was wet, but now the sun is out and shining hard. Yesterday Track was away up at Frankfurt while Soccer was here, playing at the Marzell field against Wurzburg. Track did well, with several qualifying for Championships and overall coming in third out of seven teams. Soccer swept Wurzburg with a score of something like 13-1 for the guys, 4-2 for the girls. It was a good set of games, and then there was an excellent and slightly spontaneous concert down at school. This morning there were baptisms at church, and all the guys came back and enjoyed the sunshine. As a sort of dorm togetherness time, there were hamburgers and brats out on the front lawn, with a tight rope and hammock and various sports being played. Sang Jin got all tied up the hammock and dipped in the creek, and that led to a bunch of guys getting in and damming the creek. The creeking spot having already been built up earlier this year, they went upriver, pretty much right beneath the bridge that leads off the property, and dug and stacked and made the creek rise at least two and a half feet. And got sunburned in the process. But everybody had tons of fun,and some are actually still out there. It is hard to believe that school ends in only a few weeks. Big home meet is next Saturday, and we're probably having dorm retreat on Thursday. Update you as all goes on.
Oh, and Megan is back and well from her knee surgery, which is good.

Open House was amazing! Everybody loved it. The guys worked hard to get everything clean and ready for it. They got the fire pit ready, got the garage all set up for showing "Indie" themed music videos, set up an open mic in the dining room, and made tons of food. They also blew up 200 or so balloons and filled the halls with them. Blauen also decorated with very Indie art. Hopefully the video will be uploaded soon to show you how we presented the theme. Once everything was set up, there was a soccer game against Vienna Christian up at the turf field. It was quite a tough and close game for the guys, but they scraped through. And then they all came to Open House, wandering between the fire, movie, Blauen, the rooms, the web, and everywhere else. There were tons of positive compliments, and most everybody had an enjoyable time.
And life continues up here on the hill. Weather keeps flip flopping between wet and sunny. A bunch of the guys were away at AFNorth and SHAPE over the weekend playing soccer. Because it was such a long drive, they left on Thursday after school, and the dorm seemed emptier without them. On Friday a bunch of guests came over, and they had many escapades, such as waxing and using a windsurf board and rubber raft down the wet hill and surfing down the fast cold creek. Wrestling and other forms of fighting also debuted spontaneously. Saturday, the guys went up to Frieburg for the day while some stayed behind and made a huge fire and burned several trees. Soccer came back late that night, with some ties, wins, and losses under their belts. They were quite exhausted. Sunday, because everybody was so tired, dorm devos was made optional, but many still traveled up to Hoch Blauen and roasted marshmallows and hung out with each other before tearing it down the hill in the dark, shouting and enjoying themselves. It has been a good week, and there are more soccer and track events coming up quickly.
Well, pray that the sun comes out!
