| surf session 2wet and rainy session. the rain filled up the lagoon and that made the wave slower and smaller than usual.crowd wise - it was manageable with only 2 other surfers outside with me and the rest were kids learning how to surf on the inside.however, i did struggle to catch waves today and i blame it on the weak surf as well as my below average fitness. i need to start build up my stamina again and get back in shape.also got to know the other 2 local surfers today. hope to see them again tomorrow or next week. hopefully, i'd do much better. -soulsurfer | | |
| surfing through memory lane...it was sunday, 30 november 2007. after 2 years since my last surf session, i decided to surf at sunway lagoon - the spot where i caught my first wave about 10 years ago. yes, i'm not ashamed to mention that i started surfing there back in 1997 before flying off to malibu, california in the following year. nothing much has changed since those days at sunway lagoon, with the exception of the increased rates, new lifeguards and rental counter. Not to mention the new faces of the so called "local regulars". However, nothing can much can be said about their attitude problem. something will always remain the same. i suppose as new faces turn up, the attitude is passed on. regardless of the above, it was a good session for starters. i wasnt as fit or as athletic as i used to be but it was still pretty much a good workout. i was still stoked despite missing out on a few waves. hopefully, my next session would be a better one. i can't wait for my next session out there. i felt like 17 again. the only thing missing was the original crew from high school. here's one for you guys - nel, ruzty, justin and derek. - soulsurfer | | |

| how time flies...i was going through some of my old entries back in 2003. i was never the diary/journal-keeping type of person. and having this online blog for this long has proven to be good decision. as i read through those past entries, i can't help to reminisce the past - the memories of surfing in california, work at pwc and the girls that i had gone out with and the crushes that i had. everything was recorded - well, mostly anyways. there were some entries which i completely deleted - out of frustrations and for stupid reasons like "what was i thinking!?". its 2007. i've grown older. i hope xanga doesn't die out on me. god knows it would be friggin' hassle to move all those precious entries to a new blogspot. hell, i might not even bother moving them. thanks faren mcfaren for getting me on xanga back in 2002/2003. without this tool, i wouldn't have been able to "diligently" record my past and reflect on some of the things that i had written. to my buddies in the states, i still miss surfing with you guys. to the ones i "fell in and out of love", those were "interesting" times. hope to see you all someday in the future and catch up on lost times. to myself - look at where has time and fate taken you today. here's to the future. - soulsurfer | | |
