| Yo~ Outward Bounders...Yo~ Outward Bounders... I’m sure that you are all now very frustrated. Yes, most of you may agree with me is that OB is a harsh task and at the same time quite a joyful one. Everybody got hurt and everybody got closer to each other. The bonding between one another is already not easy to break after the trip. Well. That’s good news for all of us. Day 1, it’s quite a long journey to go to Wong Wang Chao. It’s lucky for us to get on the head of the vessel for briefing. The sun was so bright and the wind was so gentle. It’s so cool. I was in a group named as Everest! It’s quite a nice group. Yeah~ our coach is Alex (the King)! Well… he was ar…nice guy. That’s all I can say. He gave us a lot of precious advice and additional information so that we could finish the journey successfully. In the afternoon, we packed our camping stuff all day long till sunset. We divided the food and camping tools among ourselves~ the bag was incredibly heavy and bulky. It’s about 40 something gram~ Goddess! It’s the heaviest thing I had ever carried in my life. I am sure most of the other Outward Bounders’ bag is even heavier than mine! After that, we got prepared to get on board the mini-vessel. Meanwhile, I found my camping bag got no some kind of connecting thing of the belt. Thanks all the teammates of Everest. They helped me to re-pack all the stuff to another bags in a few minuets. Is it what we call team sprit? Maybe, but not only for my bag…but everything we did. anyway~ It’s also a very nice experience on the mini-vessel. The wind blew so strong on our faces that was just like a giant fan. It’s so cool~ all our hair got stand up. That’s very funny~ I love it so much. In the evening, we set our camp near the entrance of a village where was also near to the pier. Then, Parco, the chief, started preparing our supper. The rice was so nice. =] The sausages and vegetables were very tasty too~ However, the freaky annoying coach of another group came to our site to criticize our food! How dare he was~ after the supper. People got bored and started going crazy. They did some kind of team skipping with the hiking string. Oh my God~ what’s happen to their head…? Some kind of freaky disgusting thing followed! My tent was flooded with milk! I can still imagine that disgusting smell now. It’s so sour! Help~ It’s time when it’s my turn to go crazy~ It took me quite a long time to clean the tent, but it couldn’t be used. I wondered how you could get use to that find of smell when you were sleeping in it. The result was that 5 boys sucked into one single tent. It’s quite good for us coz it was very cold at night! Thanks Tony, Clement, Leung Zi and Parco providing me warmth~ kekeke… At mid-night, some wild dogs came to visit us. How noisy they are. They kept on barking and barking. What’s happen to them? Goddess. They baked till we woke up. Actually none of us slept well because of those dogs! Help! Well, it was Day 2. The most frustrating day! We got noodles and ham for breakfast… Yo! =]We also play with a little dog~ oh my god it's so cute! i love him very much! We set off very early in the morning! It was Hilary and Kelsey who were our leader. They were quite good leaders. Their speed is fair enough for us catch on! We went all our way to the mid of the mountain. With no reason, we always got lost! That’s waste quiet a lot of time. Then, it was Parco who lead us to go to the peak! The road is freaky complicated and steep! He kept on saying that there was no word to pass through though he was actually kept on walking. What’s happen to him? That’s made all of us so desperate! Please stop that! Our arms and legs all got hurt! I hate those stupid bushes! It’s lucky for me to wear long-sleeve shirt =] After climbing those creepy rock, we finally got to that 419m peak~ when we reached there, it’s so much like one of the scene in the Survivor~ All of us were very tired~ None of us want to move. The view there was pretty good though the sky was not that clear! Then the incidence of Pretty Bullying (named by Clement) happened! I think only our teammates understood how it happened. So if you want to know just ask them and I am sure they would tell you in details. After lunch there, we started roll down the mountain. I did mean Roll down the hill! For me I had rolled down for 5 m and the following was about the same. Although we were rolling, it took us almost half hour to roll down the mountain! My ass just got some holes on it! Help~ Especially thanks Tony for leading us down the hill and gave hands to every single of us to got through some difficult path while we were rolling. I was so touch, tears were flooding in my heart! After these harsh climbing, we walked for a few miles to our camp site~ When we met the other group, we were urged not to communicate with them! So sad… Well, we found a nice place to set our camp. We then had quite a rich supper for such a exhausting journey. We all went to sleep very early. (Our Milk Tent soon became our store room!) We all slept for at least 10 hours that night, but when we woke up, it seemed that we had just slept for 3 hours! Here came the Day 3! We got some beef soap noodles for breakfast! A beautiful morning! Thanks Helen for helping us to carry our rubbish in her bag! We started very early too coz we didn’t’ want to miss the vessel at 530 pm. We climbed over the fills and crept under the bushes. However, every time we sang, we got lost! Therefore, we decided not to sing just to find the right way and not to get lost again. Our progress was pretty good. After a lot of hiking, we reached some kind of bay. However, we didn’t know where we were. We settled down and rest. Alex and the others played some kind of stone throwing game. Leung Zi played it very well while the others were still very enthusiastic in it! We had a very joyful time there! After some kind of sighting and map reading, we set off again! We walked along the rocky bay to our pick-up point, Anus mouth (dry anus mouth? I don’t know) kekeke… I arrived an hour earlier than assumed. We got some kind of reflection. At 530 pm, we got on the mini-vessel. When we were on the vessel and thought that it was almost the end of the difficulties, we found that we were all wrong. We were left on a dessert island. That’s should be the starting of our nightmare. It was a beach covered with rubbish and rock. The place was so limited that we could not set any tent. The place was incredibly smelly. Flies and bees and mosquitoes were everywhere! It was getting dark and the tide was getting nearer and nearer. It was the most desperate moment ever! I really wanted to cry. We still had to build the stupid vessel to got back to headquarter the next day. It was so pleased that nobody broke down nor gave up. Ka Ka and Leung Zi tried their very best to build up that vessel! Without their help, we couldn’t get on the next day! Everybody joined their hands together to build the vessel! At that moment our bonding was incredibly strong! I loved it! We got some sweet soap and went to sleep. (Alex asked us to throw away all the chicken wings!) Wow… that was terrible! None of us changed cloth! Our clothes and bodies was sticking with some kind of gelatinous gel-like mixture… sea water… sweat…blood…food…stink…Help! It was just so terrible! We hadn’t taken any shower for 3 days! I could not stand it! The only thing that I could do is just to close my eyes and wait for the coming of day 4… A morning with out any breakfast! We got up at 515 am and started packing up all the stuff and passed them all on the mini-vessel. We first had to test the water. Well~ the water was very icy! Then, 11 sweaters pushed the vessel into the water and tried to get on it! The entire plastic bottle? I didn’t know how to call them….whatever… they float out of the bamboo frame! Therefore, we had to keep the plastic bottle together by pulling them together by our own hands! Steph was very strong! She helped us a lot on rowing the vessel! However, we had used 2 hours to row to headquarter! Alleluia! It was finally the last day of OB! It didn’t matter how much thing we had to wash… we tried our very best to wash all the things as fast as possible! Our only wish was to take a shower! When we were going to leave… of course we wanted to go back home! I just didn’t want to leave my friends! I quite enjoy the journey… when I looked back; I really didn’t understand why I could finish it. It was actually some kind of mission impossible… I really learnt a lot in the OB. I got to know the character of different people much more deeply! All I have to say is that this experience was the scariest, hardest, best thing that has ever happened to me, no matter how I afraid of it. I miss every single minute we had spent together! Thankyou! |
