    Relearning Required

    Hey.

So, I haven't been on Xanga for a month now, so I really shouldn't complain, but I'm going to anyway. A month ago they had some of this stuff changed, but now it's all different. My initial reaction was Oh, no. I liked the old Xanga better. and I'm not entirely sure that isn't true. It's going to take a while to get used to the new stuff and I'm not sure it's worth the time. I haven't really been using this account very much, and I think that I might try to stop this one and open a new one and start over, but then I think it might be too much work, and that there's really no reason to. But I dislike how much Xanga now looks like Myspace. I refuse to get a Myspace. I don't like the format of it and I don't really like the changes to compete with Myspace. I liked Facebook because it was different, but now I'm not so motivated to keep writing here because it means I have to keep logging on and seeing the pseudo-Myspace. I think after school's out I'll put in some time to make sure my site stays as un-Myspace, back-to-the-original as possible.

BTW, if anyone still reads this, please pray for my relationship with God. Pray specifically that He would teach me humility and patience, and that He would give me a constant faith. Thanks.

    Hooray for the weekend!

    Hey!

Woke up early to help set up the 6000 Challenge (sponsored by World Vision) for World AIDS Day (today, but since it was on a Saturday, we wanted more people to see the things so we did it on Friday). We put 600 pictures out in the frozen ground, each representing 10 children who lose at least one parent because of AIDS every day. We had people sign the petition to Congress to renew the relief package to Africa also, and there was a donation box to help support World Vision's efforts. Yesterday after classes, my friends and I went and ran errands around campus and shopped for Christmas presents, then watched Miss Congeniality 2 and ate ice cream. It snowed all day.

Today I woke up at 9, went to brunch with my friends, worked on a presentation for my English class, went to see Enchanted (pretty funny!), went shopping for random things and more Christmas presents, and then to eat paninis for dinner. It snowed the first half of the day. We are planning to watch another movie tonight.

Tomorrow it will be homework, homework, homework! And church in the morning. (Finding a church was one of the first things that taught me to depend on God during this year, and to experience the perfection of His plan for me and the peace that it brings.)

    Have a good night,

    Hmmmm.....

    Hey to All.

What do you know...I forgot to post anything in a VERY long time. A lot has happened lately, but here's a breif update:

I changed schools, moved away, made new friends, still keep in touch with most of my old friends, found a new church, am involved in a new youth group, went on a conference retreat, renewed my relationship with God, went to a Lentil Festival and ate lentil pancakes and lentil ice cream, crocheted a scarf and started another for a Secret Santa gift exchange, watched all three Matrix movies in one night, and had one of my best Halloween costumes so far.

I'll try to do a better job of remembering to post.

  • Summer

    Hey.

How is your summer going? Mine is very good. I am over at my grandma's house. We drove and got to see many things, like fossils. My cousins, brother, and I went to see Ocean's 13 (really good) and Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer (okay, but the first was better...The movie is not really about the Silver Surfer). I helped my grandma make bizcochitos. My cousin and I made up a new version of some card games. We will go swimming tomorrow.

So... That's it for now--I know that it was very brief but I will actually have more time to write next month, so maybe I'll say more then.
