  • I found a background that I thought was so appropriate for me....being the Killer B's mom and all ;)  And the title is great too "All the Buzz".  It's PERFECT

Hope everyone is doing well.  We'll be heading down to FL in just over a week.  Yeah!  Our cruise awaits ;)

  • Whew!  Just finished a week of VBS.  It was fun, but glad it's over.  Well, it's not really over though.  Our church will still be doing VBS on Sunday mornings for the next 6 weeks.  So I guess I still have work to do ;)

Brady got his glasses today.  Here is a picture:

    Brady's new glasses

He's still as handsome as ever!  It was kind of neat to watch him for the first hour or so after he got them.  He was looking around at everything and he said that it was cool how much clearer everything was and that colors even seemed brighter.

We are on the countdown until our cruise!  I can hardly wait.  It is going to be so much fun :)

  • VBS, Birthdays and random information

Today was the 2nd day of VBS.  I am in charge of recreation.  We have 520 kids.  They do not all have rec at the same time.  Thank goodness.  Two more days.  Then we do it for the next 6 Sundays.

Had fun at my birthday dinner last night with Steve, the kids and Mike and Becky and their kids.  We went to Spaghetti Warehouse.  Yummy.  I am going shopping for clothes for the cruise with my birthday money.

Brady still hasn't gotten his glasses.  They were sent to the drs. office and there was something wrong with them, so they sent them back.  Now they are not sure if they are discontinued or not.  Will find out tomorrow.

The kids final report cards were EXCELLENT!  Brooke got straight A's again.  Brady and Blake did too (really their grades are different...but it is the equivalent of straight A's)

Brooke got chosen as a Student Council officer for next year.  She will be in charge of publicity.  She also got chosen to be on the Medina Travel Soccer team.  (The travel team she played for this year was not in Medina)

Brady tried out for the Boys travel soccer team and will find out next week if he makes it.

  • My original plan was to go back to school for deaf interpreting....plans have changed.  I am going back to school in the fall to be a teacher.  I will get my M.Ed. in Special Education.  I am so excited to have found this program.  It is through the University of Akron...but they have built an extension campus here in Medina.  They are offering the program I need (as well as others, of course) just 10 minutes from home!!!!!!!!!  I will take 2 classes per semester and they are in the evenings (they try to have them back to back on the same night).  I will have to go in the summers too.  But in 3 years I will have my degree.  I know that sounds like a long time, but I need to take the master's classes plus classes to obtain my teaching license.  And it will be just in time for Blaine to go to Kindergarten.  Another great part is that because this is a new building and they are trying to get people to come there....I buy 2 credit hours and the 3rd is free!!!!  WooHoo

Another exciting change coming....I am going to sub next year at Steve's school for a teacher going on maternity leave.  She is due the first day of school and is going to take off the WHOLE 1ST SEMESTER!!!!  It is a really cool program...it is the Community Work Experience program.  It consists of special needs students (various levels and degrees of disability) and we take them to work at the neighboring hospital.  The are trained to do various jobs...dishwashing, making sandwiches, cleaning, filing, stocking shelves, delivering newspapers/magazines, etc.  It is really cool.  I was there 3 days this past week to observe and I even subbed one morning, as the teacher was out.  I will be there 2 more days this week.  I am nervous and excited all at the same time!

More news...we got a puppy!  Her name is Raven and she is a 12 week old German Shepherd.  Here are some pics:

  • Wow...long time, no write.  Sorry :(  I guess I'm either to busy or just can't think of something "relevant" to say on here.  But does it always have to be relevant?  Hmmm...  I guess if it's relevant to me, it's good enough

Well, for all you proud grandparents and others who love my kids...here are some shining moments as of late:

    • Wednesday night Brooke had a soccer game.  It was raining and nasty and I was not all that thrilled about sitting out in that kind of weather.  But she scored 5 goals, so it made it worth it.  Needless to say, her team won 5-2.
    • Brooke is on Student Council this year as a general member.  She has an interview today after school for an officer position.
    • Brady got test scores back to see if he can be labeled "gifted" and in what areas.  He tested to be overall Superior Cognitive and has specific giftedness in Reading.  His Math score was very close, but not close enough to get the label.
    • Brady got an invitation to try out for a travel soccer team.  That's pretty impressive.  He still has to try out (next month sometime) but to be invited to try out from one of the coaches is pretty good.
    • Blake is doing great in school....it's so hard to believe that he is reading already.  It sorta freaks me out when he starts reading signs or things in the store.  I guess I forget that he can do it.
    • Blake also has learned to ride his bike with no training wheels recently.  He is like a pro now ;)
    • Blaine is cute and sweet and ornary......all wrapped up in one.  His dimply smile makes it hard to stay upset with him when he has done something wrong.  He has sad puppy dog eyes that will melt your butter too.
    • Blaine is starting to use the potty.  We are not even close yet...but it's a start.  He will go pee pee when I put him on the potty, but goes in between too.  And he rarely tells me when he has to go.  But we'll get there.  I'm not pushing it yet, cuz he's only 2 1/2.

    Well, more later.  I promise
