  • two days ago, this guy was stopped in front of me at an intersection and backed into my car. when we got out and i asked him if everything was okay, he said "welcome to omaha" and got back in his car.

i think that when you're too disconnected to see reality...to realize what's socially appropriate...somebody, somewhere, forgot to tell you that you can't do things like that.

on the other hand, today, a blind guy was walking across the busiest street in the city during rush hour, and i didn't see him and almost ran him over.
    what does that make me?

  • Dear friends,

I am home, I am home, I am home. A long time running, actually...but i have been so busy already. I have started working forty-hour weeks for Starbucks, and I may move to a new store to help with their opening understaffedness, if they need me. Last week, I interviewed three times for the assistant manager position with Plato's Closet, but i think the fact that I am a straight boy slightly hindered my hirability...but that is okay. I thought it would be fun. Haha. It was. I got to meet the owner of Plato's Closet here in texas. She was a really neat lady. Mean, but neat. Funny how that works, huh?

I have a car now, a lovely gorgeous Saturn named Kate who gets good gas mileage. I will put up some nice pictures of the two of us sometime soon, if I can upload them. Anyway. Today i'm in Mesquite as she undergoes surgery of some sort for right front axle/cv joint repair. Yes, siree. Oh, yeah, and I  bought a few really quality CDs recently.

I love music. I love friends. I love feeling at home and at least being at home. I love watching the moon sink in the middle of the night. I think I may be sick today, though. Hmm. I'll be alright. I'm reading "The Incredible Bread Machine."  I love Jessica Adrienne. I love my sister. I love Paul Thomas. I enjoy my job. I am writing songs a lot, and studying and preparing for school to start. maybe this time next year I'll not be in texas. My band is playing shows everywhere, including The Door, September 16th. You should come.

  • "i'll make you mine, i'll make you mine if you would have me. with a silver ring that will hug you tight, our life begins. our life begins with this. i'll prove my love if you would let me. over and over and over again. we'll bring a child into this world and we'll say the one thing everyone should hear; you were meant for amazing things. give me your hand, it's time. it's time to show new eyes their home. when fences divide our land, i would catch bullets with my bare hands. because you were meant for amazing things.

    if you would have me.
    if you would have me.
    if you would have me."

i hate you, i really do. sometimes the world is bigger and better than you think it is, and your grasp on reality isn't anything. you matter, but you aren't king. things won't always go your way, don't always have to go your way, and you will drag everyone down trying to get it across that you want to be king. in a way, i'm like you. i'm just like you. but you make me want to be different. you disgust me. you remind me of who i could be if i indulged my pride, my desires, my humanity, to its most unabashed and self-propogating form. you set an example; people who live and who see you want to be less and less like you because of the kind of man you are, because of the example you set. it's not okay, friend. it's not okay that you would do that. any of that. it's not okay that you would kill others to bring life to yourself. because she wants to be free - she deserves more than you can ever, ever give.

  • I'm leaving for Scotland soon, and it's starting to hit me. I'm quite excited and a bit nervous now, and I know I have more to worry about than I really anticipated (such as how I'm going to eat) but anyway, I am anxious. I will miss you all so much. For some of you, the lack of your presence will hurt, and you already know this. Just pray for me, and then go and love people and serve god wherever you're put in this life, because that's the most important thing of all.

About Me

  • "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
