  • Andrew and I met with Chris Rodgers and felt a real connection with him.  It was his laid-back style, easy conversation, as if we were just hanging out with a long-lost friend....we now have a wedding videographer!  It was such a great deal, we couldn't pass it up.  Here's his website if you'd like to see some of his work, and there's a link to his blog.  http://www.xposedfilm.com/  We are excited to show our "little stinkers" (kids) one day!

Next thing to decide on is a florist....it's about time with the wedding less than 100 days away.

  • Quick update::  I started work today and it was a good one.  I had the opportunity to talk with three different PA's and they all had three different opinions of the job.  I think I have to just keep an open mind and not be so influenced by other's opinions and experience.  We all come from different backgrounds, therefore perspectives on things.  Anyway, tomorrow I start admitting patients.

Lessons God's teaching me:  Lately I am reading a lot of passages on LOVE.  Sunday morning I read a passage on loving your enemies that hit me at the heart level.  Then that morning's sermon was on Loving our neighbors.  I'm thinking "But my neighbors scare me!"

So there's always a group of guys that stand around on my corner or the corner across the street, and there's always a group of guys that are a few houses down from the corner.  They are always standing around, watching people, cleaning their cars (or other people's cars...I swear they run that vaccuum ALL THE TIME.)   Anyway, everytime I have to walk up to my house, I get a little palpitations (unless Andrew's walking me or I have Jade).

The other day we were at Walmart and asked an employee a question, and lo and behold it was one of those guys that made me a little nervous.  He shook Andrew's hand and said "What's up!"  They are chatting a bit, and afterwards I whispered to Andrew, "You know him?"  Apparently he was a student in Andrew's class when he first came to Chester.  Now when I see him and his friends, I don't get the palpitations like I used to, but still aware of my surroundings.  He doesn't seem all that harmless even with his tattoos and language.  It's interesting how this took away so much fear.

It is pretty interesting to see how much fear I do allow myself to live in, sometimes needlessly.  Sure, some of those guys aren't the most stand up of citizens, but at the same time that doesn't mean they intend to harm me right?

I don't know, all I know is that God's clear in how I should treat them.  Maybe I'll have a conversation with them (when Andrew is near by).  =)

  • KBC youth group in Philadelphia

    Isn't City Hall magnificent?

    The Liberty Bell

    In front of Penn's Landing

    In Independence Hall

A quick subway trip to eat some yummy Korean food!

After Andrew and I said good bye to the kids, we went to hear the Philadelphia Orchestra in front of Independence Hall.  It was amazing, I love the city at night...

They paid tribute to the armed forces by playing their respective songs.  It was powerful, they asked those who served to stand when they played their songs.  It was awesome to see all of the flags waving and people honoring the veterans.

I was very proud to be an American.  Happy Birthday America!

  • Andrew and I decided yesterday that we want to hire a videographer.  The wedding is less than 4 months away, so wish us luck on finding someone!  The past two hours we were looking at samples online and found some really great companies to consider and others just made me want to vomit.  Talk about cheesy!  We both want a documentary style with artistic touches to accent it.  Here are some videographers we are considering.

    Video One

    Kenneth Stillman

    Henry Franz

    The Pros

We like that if we choose The Pros, we can hire a DJ with this company also.  I'm looking forward to see how everything works out.
