A-a-animo L-la Salle?? *stutter, stutter*

Wow.

Seriously.

I cannot believe it.

I am officially a student of De La Salle University-Manila.

Seriously.

I mean, people who know me (well, or not) expect me to be in the University of the Philippines. They say that I'm as intelligent, independent, and as free-spirited as the Iskolars ng Bayan. They say that the culture suits me. I'm not a fashionista, nor am I conyo. But (fortunately/unfortunately), a certain unexpected degree was not approved by my so-called supportive, sage wise dad so... Yeah. I'm stuck in La Salle.

At first, I thought, Oh, hell no. I'd hate to be here in a place as ostentatious as this one. But as normal, earth people are, I make mistakes, and have I made a big one. La Salle, is a formidable place built with beautiful, imposing Corinthian columns white as... shirts. The people aren't at all the snooty, pretentious, rich kids we love to hate. They're not. They're down-to-earth, diverse, and some people are so personable you already feel part of a group. The LAmbs (or the Lasallian ambassadors) are very cool, astig, bubbly, and nice upperclassmen that you can't help but look at them with awe. The Lasallian brothers, although proud (too proud, in fact, of La Salle), are hilarious, amiable, and cool in an older, authorative way. The profs? I don't know. I haven't met them yet.

In conclusion, La Salle is a prestigious institution building its students' holistic development filled with all kinds of people that you can relate to. And I am a big a** for being too judgmental. There.

So...

OUT OF THE HIATUS: Back from the shocking 'M.Johns incident'

Okay... I have to admit. I was seriously affected by this year's shocking elimination(s). I wasn't expecting it, and even Kristy Lee Cook being booted off didn't help. So, I'm back! It's Idol's TOP 4 show today and I couldn't help but say that Carly Smithson and Michael Johns should have been there. Not Syesha, and definitely not Jason.
So... How are the performances? I hate to say this but:

DAVID COOK: first song was pretty decent, but not hands-down GREAT. The second song by The Who was a dream. Sadly, he's not the best for tonight.

SYESHA MERCADO: Rollin' by Tina Turner suited her but it was a little shout-y. Good, though. Second song was emotional, and her crying didn't help. I respected the song choice, but DUDE! It wasn't as good.

JASON CASTRO: WHAT THE HELL. That's my only reaction. He's only here because of his looks, his freshness, but apparently not for his talent. First song? Bob Marley could've shot you. Second song? BOB DYLAN. SHIT. He forgot the lyrics. He might be stupid or nervous... But he should GO.

DAVID ARCHULETA: He ruled. I know I don't like his prissy, I'm-so-humble performances and reactions. But he was great. He sang Stand By Me and Love Me Tender. The judges didn't really hearhis mistakes but he was the best of the night.

In other news....

I just watched Ellen and coincidence! Michael and Carly (the two people with the greatest voices in their batch) sang two songs (One Love and the other one) together! It was coooool! They shouldv'e ben on the stage tonight.

SHAME...

Oh, and if you wannahear and see Carly and Michael together, here's the link:

Who are the top five people that inspire you and why?

Definitely my dad, who's full of nuggets of wisdom. He's always the one motivating me, and yet he's realistic. He knows what my talents are and he pushes me to my potential. The second one's my mom, who's kind and patient. She makes me remember that I need to thank them for everything they've done. The rest would be people I'm competing with, the rishest and most successful people, and Larry King, whom I want to be interviewed with.

I just answered this Featured Question, you can answer it too!

IT'S ALL WRONG/IT'S NOT ALRIGHT: The Shocking Results Show of Idol

"I thought that was a pretty good song choice for you, but it had some pitch problems to me."

"You sound as good as you look."

"I thought it was a very good performance."

So people... Tell me... How could a guy like this who got good reviews from the judges be booted off? It's simply a mystery. It's like a deja vu of another one of great shockers. I just... I could NOT accept this.
Last Wednesday, he sang Aerosmith's Dream On. It wasn't as amazing as last week's or last last week's but it was good. He got good reviews from the judges. He's a nice person who has loads more charisma than any other male contestant. What happened? Why didn't his votes match up?
It's so depressing that American Idol has certainly become a generic popularity contest. Michael has TALENT. He didn't deserve to go. Why has Kristy Lee Cook stayed so far as sacrificing TALENTED people? Plus, last year, they did NOT send anyone home. It's just so unfair.

I'm sorry but this is just hard for me to accept. To all Michael Johns fans out there, supporting this guy, let's just pray for his success. He's gonna be the next Chris Daughtry... Both shocking results yet the most successful of their season.

We can't do anything about this. And this makes me sooo sad. Let's just hope and pray, guys... Hope and pray.

I'M GONNA MISS YOU MICHAEL!

Vacay! I'm melting!

I had just recently read from the papers that the temperature her in the Philippines could reach 38deg. F.

What the hel-lo! (Sorry for saying that...)

Anyway, I just got back from a vacay in Baguio, the Philippines' summer capital. It definitely is. It's packed with so much people that it's already polluted. Baguio's beginning to get FUGLY. Luckily, I got to stay in our casa in Camp John Hay, so I don't always see the smog and the hullaballoo of crowds. I still got to have a great three-day-two-night stay in Baguio...

For one, I went horseback-riding... Which definitely scrapes your butt and is actually pretty scary.... But exciting!
Second, we ate in this place called Cafe by the Ruins which is like a boho art gallery. I ate camote bread with herb cheese with their special Ruins Coffee and  Dark, Bittersweet Tsokolate.
Third, I went bowling!
Fourth,we bought ube, walis tambo, and lots of other pasalubong wherein a Baguio vacay wouldn't be complete without...
Last, you don't have to worry about electricity consumption. You wouldn't dare use the PC there... There are just too many activities. You also wouldn't have to use electric fans and airconditioners...

I miss Baguio...

Sad that I would have to go back to reality though and study in La Salle on May 26th...
