| Even though I'm exhausted, I'm having one of those I'm-not-feeling-ready-for-bed moments. So I'm posting on xanga. For your warning though, I'm quite not coherent, but oh well. I'll just give you home people an update one what I've been up to since spring break. As everyone knows...Lindsay came to visit. (YAY) Needless to say, lots of fun we had...much more detail could be given, yes....but this is just a summary. Us in front of the notorious cherry blossoms in DC:
The weekened after spring break, I debated my first intramural Parli tournament. Now THAT was an interesting morning. I wake up with Cilla in my room: "Brooke! Get up!! You're debating in less than 5 minutes! Levi's in the dining hall finishing y'all's prep - you have less than 5!" So I took two minutes to stumble out of the top bunk and find a suit to throw on, and ran out the door, bed head and no coffee. I stumbled in there and off we went to pretend to be the British government. In short, I hated my life at that time. But hey...when you go in a round and have to argue that it would be better for the republicans to lose the election, and that Obama is the most conservative of them all on foreign policy (our Prime Minist...I mean...Levi said it, not me!!)....it's FUN. Trust me on it. Next day: Rock climbing. LOADS of fun. Loads of general upper body pain, but it's awesome when you can make it to the top of a particular wall when particular other people you're with can't. *grin* Fast-forwarding to today... Not such an awesome day. If you're reading from home, you may have heard by now of Crocket Asnip dying this morning. If you're reading from school, he was the son of friends of friends of ours. It was a terrible, draining, upsetting morning, 'nuff said. But I love my roommate and wingmates and the comfort they gave. The second half of the day was much better. I came back from judging at a tournamnet this afternoon to find tons of people sitting on the grass picnic style, throwing frisbee and eating pizza and ice cream. It was so summer and it did my soul good. Then I got to hang off of rocks and cliffs and stuff, and endanger the current healthy condition of the bones in my body. (Me, Erin Pradia, Karmen, Gibson, Levi, Daniel, Caleb, and Josh went to Bear's Den. So no I'm not talking ropes and climbing walls. ) Let me tell ya, people don't know fun till they've left their physical safety in the hands of...well...a hand coming from the rock above. Again. Just trust me on it. Oh, and do it barefooted. SO much better. (Seriously.) Cuts and bruises...dirty feet...similar to summery things, it's good for the soul. Tomorrow going to Library of Congress to study... yay.... now going to bed. Sorry for the abrupt ending. Oh, btw, it ACTUALLY got to like 77 today! That means I ACTUALLY broke a sweat at one point or two! Amazing. |
