| The Tragedy and the ProphecyI came to the library to study but I left the books in my manbag. So let me unveil my story.
In my case, the pendulum made its strike. Running like a crazy beast on the field everyweek, something was bound to happen eventually. The overall experience of tearing my ACL and the reconstruction surgery was not a pleasant one. Since I'm not gonna be able to play any sports for the next six or so months, I've completely shut off soccer from my mind and it doesn't bother me that I can't play soccer at church everyweek, which is something I have been doing for the last 4+ years without missing even one week. But my intramural teammates and people from school calling me to play soccer didn't leave me feeling too jolly either. The positive end of this whole deal is that I will be able to study more since soccer won't be present to tempt me to go to the indoor soccer court everynight(at least that's what I'm telling myself). The first appointment at the physical therapy was exciting. My range of motion was 125 degrees. Which is like a Ferrari compared to a Kia. It is superb. The physical therapist was very nice and I think he will have me back to 110%. I am looking forward to meeting him again tomorrow to workout for a couple of hours and get electrocuted a little bit for the inflammation. It is comforting to know that there are control groups in this adventure. Lee Dong Guk tore his ACL and he is able to play soccer at a professional and national level again after 7 months of rehab (background picture). Courtney tore her ACL and I don't really know how she's doing now in her rehab but I'm sure she's doing well. My come-back will be beautiful because I will be faster, stronger, and a more skilled soccer player than before for sure. The crazy beast is gonna be a crazy beast on steroids in 6 months. Watch. I can't wait till summer when the sun will shine. |
