| | Surprise!So this entry is a departure from my usual entries consisting of self deprecation and/or ranting and raving, but I was thinking today, and for the first time in my life, I can honestly say I'm thankful I'm an American. As much as I dislike most of our politicians, think the individuals running for president are all idiots (at best), and hold intellectual contempt for most of my fellow citizens, at least we can have (somewhat) civilized discussions about public policy and how best to run our country. I'll take settling matters by legislation and petty litigation rather than suicide bombers any day of the week.
