| Christmas is close. I hate Christmas, I really do. Actually, I hate all family oriented holidays. People think I am weird for saying that, but actually I have a good reason. I haven’t been to a family Christmas in 6 years. I am always in Korea, usually freezing to death by myself while my friends and family are traveling or spending time with the people they love the most. Christmas is about family. Yes, maybe it is about Jesus being born, but did you know that he wasn’t even born on December 25th? My point exactly. My normal Christmas day is ok, because I get to open presents, but it is so pointless to do that when the person giving you the gift is not there. Some people do not realize how lucky they are. They can go home for Christmas, be with there families, etc. Maybe I am not poor and begging, but if I were poor and with my family for Christmas I would still be happy. Be happy for what you have, but realize that not everyone around you has the same privilege as you. So if I snap at you when you brag about your Christmas this year, I’m sorry, its just something I must learn to control. |
