| last entryso here's the thing...i keep forgetting to copy/paste my livejournal entries in here so...i'm just going to stop using my xanga. my livejournal site is www.livejournal.com/~_heartichoke
my last entry here: life just keeps getting better. : ) it's got its tosses and turns, but i try to love them for what they are, and i get through...and life just keeps getting better.
I made cammerata, which is pretty sweet. I wasn't expecting to make it....I have such a musical theater voice...I don't picture myself as the "women's small, choral ensemble" type. yay me!
and even better- the cast list went up tonight. actually Audrey, Ben, Zach, Curt, and I were all together at Frontera, celebrating Curt's birthday, when Mrs. Thorpe called to tell Ben the outcome. I'M LUCY!!!!!! so fucking excited. it's the role i wanted, it's a lead, it's competition, i know i'll do a good job with it. ahhh!!!! so happy. haha and Audrey is Emma, and Ben Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde!!!! we're going to be great together. oh man....so stoked....
i suppose that's it...i just had a really amazing day. : ) namaste | | |
| two entriesToday's entry: Yesterday I hung out with Audrey, Zach, and Kyle. We kicked off the
weekend with our Afternoon D and going over the choreography for dance
auditions, and then went to steak n' shake. Then we spent a great deal
of time in Matress Expo goofing around and becoming friends with the
salesman. heh...afterwoods we visited Ben at Pablano's and then went to
Audrey's where we went impromptu swimming in our clothes. haha!! Today
I babysat a little bit and did some chores (where did you go, summer
independence?). Tonight I'm going to see Act1's Into the Woods with my
friend Brian who did Fiddler w/ me last summer. It's Josh's
birthday, and I feel bad that I already have plans and he's spending
his birthday alone. I thought he was going to be hanging out with
Andrew and Harrison at Andrew's dad's...but now that those plans have
changed, I feel like I'm ditching him. oh well. life is, and will be, good. haha....my life really has been amazing. namaste
An entry I forgot to post here two days ago: This week has been fun, most of my attentions have been focused on
Jekyll & Hyde auditions. I'm feeling extremely confident about my
performances, and have gotten a lot of positive feedback from people. Last night I was working on a scene with Zach, and Audrey and Ben met up with us. Mrs. D watched and gave us all direction. The
four of us have been staying afterschool a lot to practice, and also
for drama club officer meetings with Mr. Lindahl, and everyday we go
into Mrs. D's office and discuss the auditions that day. haha Our
little chats are so much fun. Audrey calls it her Afternoon D, instead
of afternoon tea....lol I absolutely love Mrs. D'Antonio. She really is one of my favorite teachers. I've
gotten really close to Audrey, Ben, Zach, Marie, and Allie this week. A
lot of time spent together, a lot of bonding. It's been nice to
reconnect. and I've loved getting to know Hudson, Chelsea, Tyler, Trevor, and the rest, too. Tomorrow
is girls callbacks and final dance auditions, but I don't think we'll
get through it all. I was hoping it would be cast this weekend and we
could get going, but I highly doubt that'll be happening. life is good right now. i love the people i've surrounded myself with. namaste

| same as it ever was...Today was the first day of school...and it felt comfortable. There was no childish, excited feeling of starting something new. I liked waking up this morning and feeling like it was just another day I had to get ready for school. I liked not engaging in any of the accepted social bullshit- no running to girls I hardly know for screaming, giggling, and hugs; no promises that I'll make amazing grades; no desire to impress anyone. I did feel the desire to perform my best during auditions for Jekyll & Hyde. But really, it was the same as it ever was.
Good teachers Good classes Great friends Lovely day
after school I hung out at home for awhile, and then went to Josh's and we watched a pretty bad Brad Pitt movie called Seven Years In Tibet...but hangin out with Josh is always a guarenteed hilarious time. and now I'm home just relaxing...no homework...perhaps I'll go read?
auditions continue tomorrow, and dance auditions afterschool.

| A few things before my actual update: Just because I participated in Food Not Bombs does not make me a socialist. First of all- to judge someone and assume someone's political affiliation strictly by the humanitarian work they've done is nothing but ignorance. Secondly- Food Not Bombs gets its title because its participants believe that the government should be spending its money on aiding those citizens who are experiencing homelessness or poverty, not bombs or other weapons- particularly those funded with the intentions of war. That may make me liberal, perhaps someone who cares for the well-being of others...but not a socialist. That's rather far-fetched.
Here's my horoscope for today- I found it extremely relevant: You may find yourself going back and forth between a comprehensive view and highly specific details. Your imagination soars and you can see the issues from a global perspective. The problem, however, is that you cannot act on these grandiose visions. You must bring things back down to earth and find small ways to move toward the big ideas.
as for my life: Yesterday morning I went to registration, which was only a reminder of the social bullshit that infests Brookwood High School. But hell with it, I have fabulous friends and I'm going to have an amazing senior year. I got my script and cd for Jekyll & Hyde (since auditions begin on the first day of school), so I'm very excited about that. I babysat from 10:30 to 4:30, and then Andrew and Christin picked me up at 5 to meet Eva and Josh at the Brightwater parking lot. Then we ate dinner at Cafe Tu Tu Tango, and went to the CROSBY, STILLS, NASH, AND YOUNG CONCERT!!! it was so goddamn incredible. so much love. absolutely beautiful. they jammed, we jammed. we had a great time...definitely the best concert i've ever been to. Afterwards, we picked up Christin's car at Brightwater, dropped off Josh's car at the Land Rover dealership, and then came back to my house to watch Indiana Jones (???) and crash. Such a fun night with my best friends.
Today Josh, Christin, Andrew and I picked up the Land Rover and then ate/went shopping at the mall. We all split ways for a about an hour or two, until Josh, Vanessa, and Patrick picked me up for a Patty-Party....which turned out not to be so much of a party as just a chill time talking around the campfire.
and that's that. it's been a good first week home. won an award party at eva's CSNY concert campfire at patrick's wonderfulllll

| I'm back in Lawrenceville. This is so stupid and trivial, but I feel like I'm betraying something if I call this "home". Maybe I don't like the idea of calling any place home....
anyways, I got back Sunday afternoon. My mom picked me up and we had such a good time catching up on the car ride back to the house. It's ironic how distance can draw people closer. Then Eva came over (!!) and helped me get ready to go to the Metroplitan Atlanta Theater awards. There was champagne before hand, then the ceremony, and dinner at a restaurant around the corner afterwards. Anways, I won the award for Best Actress in a Major Supporting Role for playing Hodel in Fiddler On The Roof...which was pretty incredible. I gave my first acceptance speech...I cried a little bit....haha I had a lot of fun catching up with the cast from last summer. It was a good first night back in the South. Monday Josh came over! We basically did nothing all day, but it was alright. It was nice just spending time. Then we went to Pablano's and then to Marie's for awhile. Got to see Audrey, Ben, Marie, Galen, and a lot of other great people...heard about their summers and whatnot. Tuesday night was Eva's "last campfire ever" party...which was fucking amazing. Hung out with Andrew!! Vanessa, Stephanie, Taylor Gill, Melissa, Nancy, Matt Graham, and a lot of other people were there also...and I brought my brother! haha nothin like gettin your little brother drunk...Basically it was a fabulous party. the end. Today was a day to spend time with my Mom, which was nice. Ran errands, made dinner with her, watched a movie. by the way- if you're into the theater, philosophy, or generally intellectual out-of-the-box thinking, watch My Dinner With Andre. you'll love it.
Tomorrow is registration, then babysitting (get a license and a goddamn job, sawyer...), then Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young concert!!! hell yeah.
