So i've gotten smart and have been recording all my daily spending sprees or whatever you'd call it and I've just realized how much money i waste on things that shouldn't be bought.. lol but i can't help but keep buying things! i love clothes.. but then the money i earned with all that hard work (?) just goes down the drainnnn! it's really heart-wrenching to see.. LOL Being Mr. Estabrook's enviromental science student, i of all people should know that affluence can never be a good thing. oh well, i'm hoping this clothes-collecting phase will pass soon so that i can learn how to use money more efficiently. like.. tuition? lol ok anyway,, random thought to add.. I was reading into chapter 38 of Thomas Hardy's Tess of the D'Urbervilles and Angel completely broke my heart. I'd like to cancel everything I've been thinking about him so far in the book. For the third assignment, I even chose the question where i pick a character i like or is positive or something of that sort and I chose Angel and said that i like the fact that Angel contrasts so much from Alex D'Urberville and treats Tess with so much respect and tenderness that it drew me to Angel's character. Well, WRONG. i sympathized so much with Tess that while I was reading the chapter my eyes were welling up with tears and I had to stop reading cuz I was in yearbook class and didn't wanna cry reading an English assignment book - _-; Anyway, when I first started reading Tess i was kinda bummed out by the long reading in the intro and it didn't seem like the book was progressing that much so i had taken a disliking to the novel but since i've started sympathizing with the character, i think it's actually the most enjoyable book I've read all year apart from Achebe's Things Fall Apart. Well for the overall commentary of the book, i'll have to wait til the end of the novel and decide if it was truly enjoyable or not but at this point of the story, I believe this novel is one of the most heart-wrenching books I've read apart from V.C. Andrews' novels. However, I don't like the fact that everything is dragged on and overly dramatized from time to time, and Tess can be VERY indecisive. All books have their drawbacks so yeah. i judged a book by it's cover, and i was proven sooo wrong. This novel is hella good. lol Thought to Add. OMG I CAN'T WAIT TIL NEWYORK! it's gonna be soooo bomb! I think starting march my weekends, or just my life in general, is gonna get a bit more interesting. =D
