GOSH! Only TWO people want to hear from me?? Clearly this is not a well read blog. Probably becuase I'm inconsistent. Oh and bad at returning calls.

Some cool highlights from the past month or so since the last entry:

NYC!

As most of you know, I went to NYC and saw my two most favorite NYC girls! My poor friend Susan had the pleasure of partying with me for 1.5 weeks straight practically. And Esther, who luckily lives in Jersey, babysat me for a couple of nights too. We watched Aladdin. J Thanks so much to you two for showing me a GREAT time!! I missed you guys so much! Now your turn to visit me!!

It was quite wild, as some photos might show. However, I will save you the pain of viewing all of them, as I am not very photogenic when I’m wasted. :P Again, did not hit up many touristy places. It’s been my 4th visit or so now, and still haven’t made it to the Empire State Building or the Statue of Liberty.

However, I did make it to some interesting places and saw some awesome people I haven’t seen in forever!

Cool Places

  • Staten Island for Arthur’s BBQ (and White Castle….). Great food and great company! Even if we were all hungover…
  • Experienced the nightlife in NY, as I’d never been to NY after I turned 21
  • Several nice restaurants, one where me and Susan Lee ate a CHEESECAKE TREE!
  • Columbia campus. Beautiful, as I remember it. Susan and I got a nice tour of the campus and its dorm life from Lemuel.
  • Century 21, finally! But honestly, not all that impressed. Though I spent quite a good deal of money.
  • Jersey! Where I ate dinner at a Mexican restaurant with Esther and brought our own liquor to make magueritas! And watched Aladding with Esther and Dave while we fell asleep all on the same bed….
  • A broadway show, Avenue Q, which was SO good. I had low expectations bc it was a puppet show. Little did I know I would be laughing my ass off.
  • Nicole Miller show! Thanks to Susan's fashion PR friend. Gosh, what am I doing in TECH PR??
  • Iron Chef Morimoto's resturant for dinner! My first and only celebrity citing in NY~

Peeps:

  • All of Susan’s lovely friends! Now I can finally put a face to all the gossip. J
  • My pen pal from like, middle school! Jamay (and her Venga Boys fan little bro, who is not so little anymore)!
  • Jenny! I interned with her in SF and we obsessed over 24 together. She came in all the way from Boston!!
  • Dave, Esther’s BF, who is less intimidating than I remember. ;) Atleast that is the conclusion I drew after watching Aladdin with him!!
  • Lillian, who was there visiting with others. There were actually a million people I didn’t know would be there, or lived in NY….such as KEVIN KWAN, who I ran into at Susan’s friend’s bday party!!
  • Then all the SF crew: Susan L., Arthur, Isaac, Lijay + others

Photos to prove I was there:

Red Hot Chili Peppers Concert!

All I gotta say is, awesome! Well worth the $XXX. I won’t say how much it actually cost, just that we had amazing seats. J And someone thought my t-shirts wouldn’t be a hit!!! The BART ride was interesting, and so was the mosh pit!

Meghahertz Left L

After about a year of good times with Ms. Megha, she left for London. What luck that they were able to set that up so quickly. With a snap, she was ready to leave. And though she broke everyone’s hearts the day she left, we put our heads together and sent her off well. It included good food, drinks, laughs and hangovers! Oh and some nasty old businessmen at a hotel and a very uncomfortable dance with some salsa instructor….

Work

Some interesting moving parts to some tech projects I’m working on, though they’re draining me out! We won’t discuss them too much. I helped staff a Cathay Pacific Airways Best Chinese Food in the Air luncheon last week though! It was super cool. They flew in their chef from Hong Kong, and we pulled all the Cathay Pacific people together and invited a bunch of ethnic media to join us EAT! I had so much fun.

Dodgers game last weekend!

Only picture I'm willing to post.....

Uhhhhh...I lost my phone. Please give me your phone numbers!

Tuesday, September 12, 2006

Oh my lord it just took me 2 hours to get my wireless to work. I fell asleep twice trying to get through to the correct comcast person, lost phone connection once, got transferred three times and came close to committing myself to finding an engineer to marry so I would never run into this problem again.

So when I arrived in St. Louis at 10:30pm, I took a cab to my hotel. When I arrived in my room, I realized it was so big I actually felt creeped out! Then I just felt lonely, for being in a huge hotel room by myself.

I got online, ecstatic that internet was free, and then an hour later, realized I couldn't find my wallet!!! And then  I freaked out of course and was frantically looking for it everywhere. I made a paniced call to the front desk, and the incompetent guy on the other end of the receiver told me the person who was most recently at the front didn't find anything. So knowing full well that I had no other option, I went straight downstairs to confront them in person. But I decided to find someone else, whom I thought would likely not be the same person I spoke to. Anyway, long story short, they didn't find it in the lost and found still.

I went upstairs in despair and practically started crying. And then in my last attempt to find my wallet in my bag, I accidentally scraped  my freakin scab of my elbow. The idiotic scab I got from falling down the stairs last week. I'm the biggest klutz you'll ever meet.  And it hurt, a lot. And it started bleeding again. Anyway, I guess it ended "well" becuase I found my wallet in a pocket of my lap top bag that I didn't realize existed. Again, as my dad always calle ms, sah dah jie.  Translated most closely to mean "ditz."

So training at FH headquarters was pretty cool. We had people come in from Sacremento, San Diego, Houston, Austin and San Antonio! I felt connect w/my TX peeps.  It was neat, but they made me present, and I get nervous presenting, especially when I'm not prepared. Anyway, it'll be a cool project. I think I'll need to devote a good amount of time to it though. But if I can pull off all this ethnic media relations, It'll definitely be good for me.

So I just got word that my good friend and former colleague, Jenny, will be visiting over Halloween weekend!! I can't wait! My 24 buddy!!! I LOVE Jenny!! She is the most  travel savvy girl you'll ever meet. And she's from my beloved city of birth, Boston. And she's just super cute and nice. I can't wait to see her. She's actually coming into NY to see my while I'm there!

Hmmmm, other than that, life is good. BBQ this weekend and Red Hot Chili Peppers concert next Friday!!!!
