belief Those whom we do not see with the human eye are not absent - they are there, and perhaps in more tangible, powerful ways than before... [mudchic]
After years of expensive education,
a car full of books and anticipation,
I’m an expert on Shakespeare and that’s a hell of a lot
but the world don't need scholars as much as I thought.
Maybe I'll go traveling for a year,
finding myself or start a career.
I could work for the poor though I’m hungry for fame
we all seem so different but we're just the same.
Maybe I'll go to the gym, so I don't get fat,
aren't things more easy with a tight six pack?
Who knows the answers? Who do you trust?
I can't even separate love from lust.
Maybe I’ll move back home and pay off my loans,
working nine to five answering phones.
Don't make me live for my friday nights,
drinking eight pints and getting in fights.
I don't want to get up, just let me lie in,
leave me alone, I'm a twenty something.
Maybe I'll just fall in love that could solve it all,
philosophers say that that’s enough,
there surely must be more.
Love ain’t the answer nor is work,
the truth eludes me so much it hurts.
But I’m still having fun and I guess that's the key,
I'm a twenty something and I'll keep being me.
I'm a twenty something.
Let me lie in, Leave me alone.
I'm a twenty something.
last week, i discovered that my roommate is nothing but a trickster. emily: i prepared a bath for you. yilin: oh forreals? i walk to the bathroom, only to find...
...our swamp of a tub. disgust.
my not-so-little cousin, susan had her senior prom! i was fortunate enough to help her do some last minute prepping before sending her and moses off. i felt like a mommy... sniff sniff. oh susan... you're growing up so fast. ;D a little young lady right before my eyes. she looked soo purty and elegant, especially with their matching sneakers. you silly kids! love my babe.
on april 29th, 2007 i got baptized! it was a blessing being able to share the special day with my dear best friend, crystal, as it was also her 22nd birthday. love you! i cannot even being to explain how exciting and anxious the whole morning was... emotionally overload for sure. beginning with me having no idea what to wear and spending forevers trying to find something fitting. poor tiffany was forced to give me her opinion on every outfit i had laid out. and then arriving at church pleasantly surprised by the many familiar faces and beautiful flowers galore. (= testimony went... well? tis sad but i cannot even remember what i shared about, but i knew God was there with me or else i would have no doubt had a panic attack and died right there on the spot. thanks christine for holding my hand during our sprinkling session... tee hee. baptism buddies for life! to my dearest brothers and sisters, your lives have been nothing but a constant reflection of the love and grace poured out from our father in heaven. thank you so so much for being present this past sunday morning (even on super short notice - some more than others - and some also having to miss their church's anniversary celebration)! much love.
oh yea, please send me pictures if you have any! ;D thankies.
thank you jesus. indeed, God is good... all the time.
back from nawleans ya'll. or also known as, NOLA = new orleans louisiana. i will post pictures and more reflections laterrr.
it was a week filled with much adventure, making new friends (both young and wise. hehe), deeeeeeelicious comfort food, live music of all different types of jazz, painting/prepping/building houses w/ habitat for humanity, buggies (a few mosquito bites), nature overload and completely immersing into the beautiful southern culture. still getting used to being back in los angeles... /= it was definitely an eye-opening experience seeing the aftermaths of hurricane katrina. and though it will take many many years to rebuild the cities devastated, both physically and spiritually, it is soo great to know that people all over are supporting and praying for them. indeedy, i could not have asked for a better spring breakkkk... (= and so i have returned home very blessed, happy, and FAT-ty!!!
10 random facts. maybe?

"The greatest gift is the passion for reading. It is cheap, it consoles, it distracts, it excites, if gives you knowledge of the world and experience of a wide kind. It is a moral illumination." Moses Hadas

2. If you have not noticed, I can be quite the photo nazi! mother bought me a my first camera in grade school and I remember putting my favourite Pochacco sticker on it. Here are two photos on my *Picasa*, a wonderful program i must add. First one was taken during a semi day road trip to Faith & Ryan's wedding in Scottsdale, Arizona. just a very small glimpse of God's beauty through His wonderous creation.
Second picture was taken in Japan last summer while travelling around
Hokkaido with the parental. there was an immense amount of good food
available. believe it or not, by the end of the trip, i was sooooo over
any consumption of sashimi. ;P not no more!
3.Double Dragon used to be one of my MUST watch cartoons back in the day. It was either on channel KCOP 13 or FOX 11 every Sunday morning. But on one particular Sunday, I remember waking up to find that I had completely overslept and missed the show. It was then I plopped down on the stairs and bursted into tears... /= Now that I think about it, this might have occured sometime in the 6th grade. ahhh. i am super lamesauce.
4. Why is my favorite number 06?!! Because of (dot dot dot)...
Before Kobe-time, Eddie Jones ('94) was my all-time favourite bballer! I stopped watching Lakers basketball for a year (9th grade) because I was so upset they had traded him to the Hornets. UGHHH... biggest mistake ever!
5. life just wouldn't be the same without brilliant shows such as heroes & grey's anatomy! Couple weekends ago, we went out to celebrate Jason's 21st birthdayy. he introduced Howie and I to just about the COOLEST place EVER! :D hahahah.
what an incredibly AWESOME name for a restaurant. Our waitress comes by to check up on us and asks Howard how his drink is (the one that she made for him) and he responds by saying "It tastes like medicine...*frowns*" wow... whatta brave soul. he regretted it immediately after i reminded him that our waitress was super cute. (=

9. i don't like being tickled. OR poked (unless its on facebook). ;P
p.s. in junior high, timothy kang promise me he'd never tickle me again for the REST OF MY LIFE. and yes, he has kept his promise ever since!
10. needles fascinate me. hmm. don't know why but i think it is so cool to watch the nurse insert the needle while getting shots or donating blood. this is then followed by a very teeny pinch of pain that immediately goes away after several milliseconds. fun? it's the same for ear piercings. :D
