Well, wow, it's the 5th anniversary of the 9-11 attack today so I figured that I should write something...

It's funny, I just talked to a kid the other day that was from NY and he lived there when it happened.  He was in school, of course, when the planes actually hit (like we all were) but he said it was the craziest thing living there.  The dust apparently loomed in the air for a couple of weeks afterward...

Oddly enough, I was listening to the Presidential address today and I realized something.  George W. Bush is a good President, to me, because he stands for the right things.  He has the right beliefs, for the most part, but he absolutely sucks at public speaking.  Which is odd, because compare him to Clinton, and they are the complete opposite.  Clinton was a great public speaker and could sway millions of people with his "logical" thoughts, but he stood for all the wrong stuff.  Yet, Clinton is revered...not for his ideals, but for his persuasion tactics, which if you think about it, is all backwards from the way things should be.  I dunno about you guys, but I would be pissed off to no end if I was being led down an alley to be mugged just because my "leader" was convincing, but people seem to think completely the other way...Oh well, I guess that's enough for controversial topics, so I'll now talk about transvestites...lol...

I actually just saw my first transvestite the other day.  A creepy and tall black man wearing rediculous amounts of deep purple lip gloss and mascara and stuff... I stared at him in utter disbelief and disapproval and he couldn't even look me in the eyes, he turned away.  Did he not realize that when he chose to take up that lifestyle, that people would look at him discontentedly?  I've seen and heard all these arguements about how homosexuals don't want to be called homosexual or gay because it hurts their feelings, but at least for me, if I'm gonna do ANYTHING in my life, I would dang well make sure I'm comfortable with every aspect of the choice I'm making before I do it, otherwise I will act like that guy...I wouldn't be able to look people in the face and I'd be hurt with someone pointing it out as well.  But like, if someone came up to me and said, "You're a Christian?!"  I wouldn't feel bad about it... It doesn't make any sense to feel bad about something if you know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that your choice is the right one...

There's my thoughts for now...

Nick...

Oh wow, I haven't been here in a while...but I haven't been in MO for a while either...There must be so much going on that I've missed now, but I'm still there in spirit...

Well, I guess I'll share what's going on up in her' in Cali...So far I've met a couple people but really not too many because school starts tomorrow here and I'm not even in school anymore.  I've been keeping busy though with all sorts of different acting classes and workshops so I can't complain.  My game is keeping up with itself, luckily...lol...because I've now found myself inadvertantly flirting with way too many girls, but not actually pursuing them because I have neither the time nor the money...Overall though, I'm adjusting to the way of life here...

Some different things about CA:

  1. Cars...OMGoodness...I'm in heaven here...So far, I've seen at least 500 Mercedes', about the same amount of Porche's, 1 Lambo Murcielago, 1 Lambo Gallardo, 3 Ferarri F430's, and 2 Ford GT's...Along with one Indy car that was pimped out to look like it was street legal...kinda...
  2. Girls...Many many rich girls...Beverly Hills is filled to the brim with them...
  3. Traffic...Wow, some people here are crazy!  First of all, you have to parallel park almost everywhere, and sometimes it's in the middle of a 3 lane street.  Also, we have highways and freeways here that sometimes get to 7 LANES!  There's even a carpool lane.  And even with all those lanes, traffic in rush hour on a 75 mph highway goes about 10 mph for miles!
  4. Jamba Juice Rules...
  5. Most everybody here is in my same situation...Moved to become an actor/actress.
  6. Del Taco and Jack in the Box also Rule...
  7. The beach is tight...

Well, that's about all...I miss everybody so much and though I can only call on weekends, I can text now for free...so text me!

Anybody who doesn't know my new phone number, just ask for it!

P.S.  Isn't this new layout AWESOME?!!  The squirrel lives on!

Ok, so the first week of summer vacation is officially over and I couldn't be happier...The entire time has gone so well for me and if every week of the summer goes this well, then I will go to college happy...So far I have:

Found so much more time to hang with all my friends again
Finished almost all of my "Thank You" cards
Played mud volleyball which, even though we lost terribly, was worth it cause we got to see Ott and Kelsey mud wrestle..(Hott stuff...lol...)
Made uber progress on the stereo situation
Been called by vampires about 5 times (Gladstone Community Blood Center...I have one of the rarest blood types and they seem to constantly need my blood...I go in tomorrow to give some...)
Turned down a job offer
And, most importantly, I MET A GIRL!  haha...I know, it's kinda pathetic that I put that in all caps but she's worth it!  I won't divulge any specific info here, but you can ask me and I'll tell you...

So, the summer is most definitely looking up...

Basically:

~ THIS YEAR = 1337 to teh maxorz...

P.S. Spencer Langston and I are having a graduation party on Sunday June 11, so be there or be...well, not there...?

This poem is a reflection on my high school experience as a private school kid transfering to the public school sector.

“Ode to a Cave”

This stranger to a foreign land

Puts cautious foot to foreign sand

As deep into a lightless cave he peers.

This mission meant for him on earth,

His Father gave to him at birth;

A chapter that will last the next four years.

So in he steps, out of the day,

With nothing left to light his way

But a Lantern that his Father gave him too.

He goes along without a sound

And takes his place on common ground

With many creatures big and small and new.

The first with which he fell in line

Could all emotions intertwine,

And quickly change their face from grim to glad.

He learned from them the best he could,

Until their leader he withstood.

He left, but kept the knowledge that he had.

While searching through, now all alone,

This labyrinth of Knossian stone,

He heard a distant ring of lyric chime.

He followed this melodic tune

And joined the Sirens’ platoon

Who seemed to be at odds near all the time.

While now he found a common chord

With creatures whom he soon adored,

His quest to find the Helen who would be;

The face that launched a thousand ships,

The kiss that oft escaped his lips,

Did seem to travel with those ships to sea.

So now his journey nears its end;

New paths to which he now ascends

Present a light that beams into the cave.

New challenges before him lie,

He waves his friends a fond goodbye.

He’ll ne’er forget the lessons that they gave.

~ This year has been awesome guys but I'm kinda glad to get outta here.  I'll miss each and every one of you with my whole heart and we better keep in touch...OR ELSE!!! lol...

Ok, musical is over and my voice is back...

I got a 1- at contest for my solo (but I was running a 101 degree fever when I sang it so ehh...) and a 1+ with my men's 8...Then, all the large groups got 1's at "State" so woot and I'm so proud of everybody...even if you didn't make Oak Street...because I didn't either...lol...

Prom things (dinner especially) are getting confusing...what are we going to do?!?

~Pfffffffffffff...Aicha, Aicha; passing me by...there she go again...
