The Route 28 accident on Saturday took the lives of three of my friends, while they were on the way to another hiking trip.

Hui's passing away, in particular, makes a huge impact on anyone who knows him personally and loves him very dearly. It is beyond words how I have felt since the confirmation of Hui's news through Jin.

I know things will never be the same - the accident took a very good friend and a very good soul. Hui, I will always miss you, and I will always love you.

Take care, go in peace.

back in boston for 2 days.

Why is the NYC subway system so fucking annoying and its directions so poorly indicated?

This is, by far, the worst and the most uncomfortable transportation ever in existence.

junior spring semestre was gone and the 7-day vacation avec vingt cents et ma famille in Hong Kong was awesome, though extremely hectic.

once again, we missed the ocean park... there ought to be something about it... we did however manage to do a whole lot of shopping, which includes suits & shoes, a dozen of shirts, sony home theatre (pour loek) and the ingredients for 3 priceless home-made apple pies ... yay!

then it was new york.

the first two days at work (or, rather, orientation/lecture), i was seriously jet-lagged. staying awake during those lectures seemed to be the most difficult thing to do... but things definitely got better since i moved to 99 john (thanks to the extra hour of sleep)

on the first weekend, i came back in boston to meet with mr. breuil, whom i will work with/for in lyon. after that, i went for brunch with cliff at harhar sq and randomly chatted with an MIT alum graduated the Chem E. PhD program 50 years ago... which was pretty interesting.

on the second weekend (like now...), i come back in boston again... but it is for the reactor this time. it seemed like a long commute, but amtrak was certainly quite comfy . it may sound a little weird, but it's actually quite nice. perhaps i'll come back another weekend.
