I've been out of touchI blog on three different blogs and Xanga got lost in that. : ) I've missed my Xanga friends. Here's yesterday's post from my personal blog at http://tsuzanneeller.com.

Happy 4th of July!
I saw pictures today of our holiday weekend. I realized two things:
I had a blast!
I need to lose 10 pounds.
I’ll talk about the 10 pounds tomorrow. [It all started when I wanted to get rid of the fructose in my diet. You know, avoid the additives. I did, but somehow that racked up 10 pounds in about two months. What to do. . . What to do. . .]
But I digress.
I had so much fun this weekend. My children and their spouses crashed at our house for the weekend and Melissa and Josh also invited their friends George, LeAnne, and 3-year-old Titus.
I don’t know which was more fun: the rafting down the Illinois River, throwing air mattresses all over the place to accommodate 9 guests, or having a 3-year-old in the house who like to fish, blow kisses, and who cried when he left “the fun house”.
I made brownies, a lemonade pie, and strawberry cupcakes to take us through the weekend. They were gone the first night.
We went to a firework display and hung out with a few thousand other people and watched fireworks. Richard and I slipped away to visit with some other family members, then met back at the house. The next morning we woke up and Ryan fixed blueberry pancakes and bacon (turkey bacon for me!), and then we set off for the river.
It’s breathtaking. Really. I forget that sometimes, but I got to see it through the eyes of George, LeAnne, and Titus.
Later that night we ate Sam and Ella’s pizza (that really is the name of the restaurant) and then finished the night, sitting on the deck listening to the guys (Stephen, George, and Josh) play guitars and sing.

It was a crazy busy weekend, but I ended it feeling strangely rested. Definitely happy.
I love having my kids around me.
I love water.
I love fireworks.
I love it when little boys want to dance with the music and splash of fireworks in the sky.
Hope your holiday was wonderful. |
