Interests: I love family. I love hanging outside, especially in the spring and winter. I am amphibious and think that skiing and going to the lake (or a pool!) is the best thing in the world to do. I have a horse, but the truth is that I never have time to ride. I mainly write, and then write some more.
Expertise: I'm the author of five books, with two more on the way. My most recent book is "The Mom I Want to Be" and my next one is "Making It Real - Whose Faith is It Anyway?". I've written approx. 500+ articles in magazines, have interviewed on radio and television programs about issues of faith and life, and am a speaker to youth and parents. I LOVE what I do.

I've been out of touch

I blog on three different blogs and Xanga got lost in that. : ) I've missed my Xanga friends. Here's yesterday's post from my personal blog at http://tsuzanneeller.com.

Ryan, Kristin, Suzie, Richard, Melissa, Josh, Stephen, Leslie, George, LeAnne, Titus

Happy 4th of July!

I saw pictures today of our holiday weekend. I realized two things:

I had a blast!

I need to lose 10 pounds.

I’ll talk about the 10 pounds tomorrow. [It all started when I wanted to get rid of the fructose in my diet. You know, avoid the additives. I did, but somehow that racked up 10 pounds in about two months. What to do. . . What to do. . .]

But I digress.

I had so much fun this weekend. My children and their spouses crashed at our house for the weekend and Melissa and Josh also invited their friends George, LeAnne, and 3-year-old Titus.

I don’t know which was more fun: the rafting down the Illinois River, throwing air mattresses all over the place to accommodate 9 guests, or having a 3-year-old in the house who like to fish, blow kisses, and who cried when he left “the fun house”.

I made brownies, a lemonade pie, and strawberry cupcakes to take us through the weekend. They were gone the first night.

We went to a firework display and hung out with a few thousand other people and watched fireworks. Richard and I slipped away to visit with some other family members, then met back at the house. The next morning we woke up and Ryan fixed blueberry pancakes and bacon (turkey bacon for me!), and then we set off for the river.

It’s breathtaking. Really. I forget that sometimes, but I got to see it through the eyes of George, LeAnne, and Titus.

Later that night we ate Sam and Ella’s pizza (that really is the name of the restaurant) and then finished the night, sitting on the deck listening to the guys (Stephen, George, and Josh) play guitars and sing.

It was a crazy busy weekend, but I ended it feeling strangely rested. Definitely happy.

I love having my kids around me.

I love water.Awkward dancing from me, I know, but who cares? It's fun!

I love fireworks.

I love it when little boys want to dance with the music and splash of fireworks in the sky.

Hope your holiday was wonderful.

For my old friends on Xanga

It's been a long time since I've posted on Xanga. I miss the input of my Xanga friends, but I simply couldn't do it with all the writing I had on my plate.

But I want to invite you to visit my personal blog at http://daretobelieve.org (talking about life, faith and a relevant God in today's world) or http://realteenfaith.com (devos, links, quotes, stories, resources for teens) or if you are a boomer at http://boomerbabesrock.com/blog (if you are 45 or older).

Visit me. I want to hear from you. I miss you.

Hey stranglers. . .

Or strangers.

Just a couple of weeks ago a friend from church said, "Why aren't you writing on Xanga anymore? I miss your posts."

I just can't, with all the ministry writing that I'm doing, but I want to tell my Xanga friends that I'd love to see you stop by my website at http://daretobelieve.org.

I write there what I used to write here. I share my heart. I talk about relevant faith. I share new articles when they are published, and new radio interviews, etc. as well as when I will be speaking.

I'd love to have you stop by and comment every once in a while, or be a prayer partner with me when I'm on the road.

I appreciate each of you so much,

Love you - Suzie Eller

Hey, I'm asking a question about future employers and places like this -- what you post may haunt yo

I'm writing an article today and discovered that many employers are now googling prospective employees. They are also checking out MySpace and Facebook, as well as other online communities.

Some people are not getting their 2nd interview even though they are qualified because of photos or comments made, and the prospective employee doesn't have a clue why.

So, if your future employer would check out your MySpace, would that concern you? Do you think this is unfair?

What about the fact that you wrote it at 14 and now you're 22 and out of college, or the comment you made because you were angry (and you're way over it) is still floating around?

What do you think?

Suzie

The Woman I Am Becoming: Embracing the Chase for Identity, Faith, and Destiny

Another new book, wow, isn't God stinking awesome?

making it realMaking it Real: Whose Faith Is It Anyway? came out last month. I haven't had a chance to tell my church friends, or really anyone else about it.

But it's a discipleship book for teens that helps them take their faith deeper, and to make it personal. It answers questions like: Who is God to me? What is my faith, separate from my parents' beliefs, or my pastors? Where is God in the hard times? What does it mean to be a follower of Christ? How can I put this into every day life?

While I'm excited about this book, I'm totally pumped about my new book coming out this summer. It'swomaniambecoming for twentysomething women and it's titled, "The Woman I Am Becoming: Embracing the Chase for Identity, Faith, and Destiny". I LOVE the cover, but also love the content.

I'm looking for about 10 twentysomethings who would be interested in reading the final draft and sharing their thoughts (in a paragraph or less). Those will be put on the inside cover of the book when it is printed. If you know of anyone, let me know. : )

I miss talking to you, but work has come first lately, as well as Leslie's wedding. : )

Suzie Eller
