  • We ended up not going to karaoke, and instead her, me, and her friend Ryan played Guitar Hero, watched TV, and has some rum and Smirnoff Ice (separately, not mixed - lol) in Michelle's apartment.  I had met Ryan at karaoke last time ... he WALKED to her apt. from North Campus, and not just from Northwood, but from WILLOWTREE.  That's crazy.  He said he takes him 1/2 an hour, so he must be a really, really fast walker, lol.

When I was walking home there were these ridiculous boys (literally, boys - they looked about 15) standing on one of the top floors of the parking structure, and they started yelling at me ... they were like "hey!  hey you! ... hey, bitch! ..." and I just ignored them.  When I finally got to my house and got out my key they were like, "yeah, just go into your apartment!"  lol.  Stupid idiots.  I was still tipsy, too, and I was really, really tempted to yell something mean back at them, but I was almost at my apt. anyway, and it was late (1:30am), and I didn't want anything bad to happen.

Tonight is Laura's movie, at the Michigan!  It's a "special screening" being held through the Ann Arbor Book Festival, and tickets were $12, because there's a Q&A with the writer of the book (Laura, my teacher) afterwards.  I really, really wanted to see the movie, so that's the main reason I'm going, but it will be fun to see Laura as well.

[and yay, it's Friday!  One 6.5 hour work day stands between me and the weekend ... hooray. ]

  • Yesterday was busy, I had dinner w/ Bruce @ 6, went to the mall w/ Sophia and Gita around 7:30, and then hung out w/ Cassie at 10.  Yikes!  The mall was very last-minute, S (my roomie) wanted to go so we took the bus there.  None of us got anything except Gita, who bought some Godiva chocolates - yum.

Work today, then CCRB ... no Oleander meeting.  I might go sing karaoke later w/ Michelle and some people, she said she would email or text me later.

I did something stupid yesterday, I taped ANTM (season finale!  and now I already know who won, thanks to seeing it on the internet, by accident.  meh.) and then I rewound the tape and taped Boston Legal at the beginning of it ... I figured I had a 4-hour leeway, but I didn't remember that I wouldn't be home for a couple of hours.  So I have BL now, but not ANTM.  It repeats on Sundays at 7pm, so worse comes to worse I could always watch that, but I want to find it on the internet instead.

  • Ditto on my last entry - work was SUPER boring yesterday.  My boss had to leave at like 11:30 to pick up her friend, who just had eye surgery, so I didn't have any work for the rest of the day, and I don't think the phone rang at all either.  Aaaaaagh, sooooo boring.

So I did something really stupid yesterday ... after I came back from swimming, I did my laundry, and I forgot to take my mcard out of my jeans pocket.  I washed my clothes, then dried them, and after I put them in the dryer I went to Borders to buy my student ticket for Laura's movie on Friday.  The Borders manager asked for my student ID, and I realized I didn't have it ... and that it was being dried.  So I got back to my apt. quickly and opened the dryer, and found it ... for some reason, the density isn't as large (it shrunk a bit?  not LxW or anything, but thickness) and now the corner is peeling.  So I'm going to the mcard office before work (at the SAB) and getting it replaced, because of "normal wear" (no, I didn't mention the washing machine.  lol.) ... I'm kinda sad, though, I've had that card since orientation, pre-freshman year .  Figures that instead of losing it like a normal person, I had to hot DRY it, lol.  The good thing is that the expiration date should change from 2010 to 2013 - they always extend it for five years, usually (ie, I'm in the class of '09, so mine expires in '10).

  • Work was boring yesterday, there wasn't much to do.  There was an earthquake in China, so all the study abroad-ers parents were calling, but the earthquake was 1000 miles away from Beijing (where they are), so they're all fine.  Someone stole my boss's briefcase, too, and the notecards we made for him (or, I should say, I had to make) with everyone's names and pictures are gone as well, so I had to scan everyone's passport photos and send them to him.  That took up most of the morning, till lunch, but then after that nothing else was going on.  I'm bringing my swim bag to work with me today, and am planning on going to the IM building after work to swim ... kinda sucks, because that's only open till 6:30, and the CCRB till 6 (the pool, anyway).  I finally figured out why the CCRB is so crowded in the summer - it's because the building is only open till 9pm.  During the school year, it's open till 1 or 2am every day, so when I go at 6pm-ish after work, EVERYONE'S there and it's often crowded.

Not much else going on today, I have to do laundry later (the machine is fixed, yay, though my hand still hurts - it hurts to type), then I am going to hang out with Jenny a bit.  Tomorrow I am having dinner and possibly drinks w/ Bruce at Ashley's, which is cool b/c I've wanted to try Ashley's for a while.

  • Stayed up/didn't fall asleep until 2:30 last night, and I'm definitely suffering for it today ... 6.5 hours of sleep is not enough for me, I need at least 7.  Also, my right hand has been hurting lately - it hurts when I type, for some reason - and it's really weird.

Back to work again today, then GG @ Bruce's as normal, at 8, and a movie @ Cassie's around 9.  I'm going to walk to work today for the first time in a WHILE, which sucks because I need to leave at 9:45 instead of 9:50.  I just don't want to bike there, and then be soaked on the way home ... also, it's a TWENTY-FIVE minute walk to Bruce's (he lives on Forest, wayyy past Hill) as opposed to a TEN minute bike ride.  So hopefully the weather will clear up later .

The KT Tunstall concert is this Sat. here in A2, and I wanted to go but couldn't find anyone to go with me - one girl bailed, the other doesn't have the money.  When I turned on 107.1 this morning, they were giving away free tickets PLUS the chance to MEET KT ... however, the giveaway isn't till 10, and that's when I have to be at work.  Figures.
