"Look, I get pork-barrel politics. I understand senators from oil states protecting the windfall profits of oil companies. Ditto for farm subsidies. It’s an old story: Protect my winnings, and I’ll reward you with campaign contributions. I get it. I get it.

What I don’t get is empty-barrel politics — Michigan lawmakers year after year shielding Detroit from pressure to innovate on higher mileage standards, even though Detroit’s failure to sell more energy-efficient vehicles has clearly contributed to its brush with bankruptcy, its loss of market share to Toyota and Honda — whose fleets beat all U.S. automakers in fuel economy in 2007 — and its loss of jobs. G.M. today has 73,000 working U.A.W. members, compared with 225,000 a decade ago. Last year, Toyota overtook G.M. as the world’s biggest automaker.

So yesterday on the way home..I was like...I want some Jack (Jack & Coke)..then Ellen came back and said: "What is your obsessions with Jack & Jill?"

Anyways..the punch line was:

"So you drink Jack, and jack with Jill"...i was like...hmm...this is pretty true for a lot of guys

A good friend left St. Louis today...no more hanging out, LAN parties..and trips to boba after this..or more like it'll be different..

I guess we all have to grow up now and start making our own careers...hopefully 10 years later, we would be a well off enough that relaxing and chilling will be part of our lives again...Latham Part II shall commence one day

Wow...Taiwan was a blast!! I have to say, of all the major Asian cities I visited, Taipei would rank probably #1...over Beijing, Hong Kong...

Why?

#1. I can communicated!! They actually speak Mandarin so that's a major plus...unlike HK or something
#2. Great Food 24/7 - everything is open super late...even the street vendors. While Beijing have the same thing, the foods actually clean so I didnt' get diarrear or something (The Cong Zua Bien - Onion Pancakes with eggs were really good!!)
#3. The Transportation - cheap and easy
#4. Tai Mei!!! Better than HK and Chinese...hands down..haha
