| October Recoveryso: this next month focuses on recovery from home with lots of sleeping! i am so grateful for joseph, joel, sara ... and their spouses. their love and support have been truly amazing.

| Sad Septemberjust got home from the hospital: have been soooooo sick. thank you, Lord, for bringing me back, turning my body around, and allowing this healing process to continue. Lord willing, i will eventually make it back to my teaching job @ good ol' mck. for now, im just very happy to be alive, w/o pain, and able to breathe. | | |
| AUGUST is here.sadness to see summer end: a memorable summer with j+h's visit, a montanian wdg, s+b's house purchase, and the announcement of THREE (3) grandbabies to come! august has some pretty special items in it, as we close out the summer memories.

summer bible club for mck continues w probably 4 events in august: a monitors planning session for the 11th, an all-skate outing @ lynwood sports center on the 15th, a get-together @ one of the local churches for bible-study-plus, and a bowling event for the 25th. "the Word" is still going out!

september will see the resumption of school on the 4th...quite an out-of-box experience! w the installation of a/c over the summer, the bldg will not yet be ready for school @ the traditional starting date in august. im sure the students are all cheering, but remember: what we lose in august, we make up in june. either way, im one grateful person when it comes to a/c. kudos to willis haviland carrier...maybe even a posthumously awarded nobel peace prize!

we continue w our summer ministry from the public school. we will be meeting to plan 2 more sessions for the students. anybody available ... pray that God's Word will go forth in power and lodge in the hearts of these students from mc kinley jhs!

PRAYER @ THE CITY GATES:
our church (my new family) has a prayer team ready to hold vigil @ 8 a.m. -- each of the entry-points of south holland has a prayer team assigned to it for 8 a.m. on the 4th of july. Lord willing, i will be a part of our team @ the "gate" closest to our church. we will be praying for our village, its leaders, government, residents, and God's will in our lives.

BIBLE CLUB OUTREACH
this will be where students assemble for the preaching of the Word. calvary community church is graciously allowing us to use its facilities. the school is unavailable for the summer months, due to the installation of central air (PTL)! students who attend this outreach will qualify for our bowling event, planned for august.

COLORADO TRIP
my 2 church girlfriends will be flying to colorado for a 9-day vacation. no, i am not a part of the vacation. i just get to drive them to midway airport. pick-up, too. i will miss them, tho. my social activities will be sorely curtailed!

THIRTY-YEAR ANNIVERSARY
our head-monitor from bible club (and his wife) are celebrating with a ceremony at my new church-home, where they will renew their vows...followed by a semi-formal reception @ their very lovely house in lynwood. it will be FUN!

MISS ELSIE:
this dear lady is in her 90's. lives in a nursing home. has never been married. never had children. was a prayer warrior for my family in years gone by...especially for JOEL. i pick her up every sunday for church. today will be her bday. im anticipating we will go to dinner @ glenwood oaks, a lovely restaurant AND they give you the bday years as a percentage off on your meal. miss elsie is 93. that computes to 93%. pretty good deal!

4TH DOCTOR VISIT:
finding out more about my foot condition: bursitis, tendonitis, and arthritis. it would be very nice to be able to walk. this all seems rather wierd for someone who has always worn shoes that were either ugly, sensible, flat, or medically recommended! i can remember as a child, my father talking me into actually LIKING those kinds of shoes, instead of the princess-type my girlfriends wore. he was SUCH a good story teller: he had me believing that wearing ugly + sensible shoes was sooooo much better and superior that i actually ENJOYED the experience and felt sorry for everybody else!!! crazy. so now: where does this not being able to walk come from????

TYLER'S WEDDING IN MT:
s+b will be flying to MT, as well. tyler is one of benjamins brothers. benjamin is in the wedding...tux and all. sgr has a lovely maternity formal to wear. im excited to be invited. its a black-tie affair. s+b will actually fly to MT a week before me, as they have an additional wedding to attend. one of the ushers from s+b's wedding last year is now getting married himself! benjamin is in that wedding, TOO.

s+b are old married folk now. thinking back to last year: what a super experience...the whole 9 yards. it was a great day and the year leading up to it was so much fun. blessings on them both as they now anticipate that precious baby. xoxo

CONCLUSION OF CEF
child evangelism fellowship is coming into south holland to our church (LHCC) to host a 4-day training session for those of us who are monitors of bible club. also included will be the liaison-people from LHCC who will be partnering w us in this outreach into the public schools. this is a great step forward and a definite answer to prayer. up to now, we bible club monitors have been working on our own w/o any formal curriculum. these past years have sometimes been difficult as we all strive for excellence in our daily jobs as teachers in the school ... and then add the responsibility of designing and implementing a bible club that is worthy of our King.

Looking forward to traveling by train to the wedding of a former student, Charles...as he marries Becky. Especially looking forward to watching my handsome son, Joel, as he serves as a groomsman in the wedding. Mandy will be there, TOO!
ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL. - WEDDING
Another wedding: this one for ChiCan, who is marrying Melissa. ChiCan is a young man of Chinese ethnicity whose parents came to the USA to escape persecution in Viet Nam. Joseph and ChiCan connected while students @ MBI which meant I got to be in on the friendship, TOO! Joseph's wife (a professional florist) will be doing the flowers for the wedding. Joseph is in the wedding party. All of this means that j+h will have to fly in from GA. and be staying in soho w me prior to the wedding ... and THAT'S a super-duper thing! I am definitely looking forward to THAT!!!
SOUTH HOLLAND, IL. - BIBLE CLUB
Bible Club is related to teaching for School District 150 (imagine Bible Club in the public school system - PTL). You would think w the school year now disbanded for the summer, that Bible Club would be on hold until the following school year, but THIS summer the Bible Club monitors are looking to promote a summer program for the students. We monitors met for supper, prayer, and planning this past Monday...so we shall see what the Lord brings for the summer months.

Newcomers classes are completed, personal testimony is given, and June 15 will be public reception into membership with "the right hand of fellowship" -- y'all come!
