| I got Pixel a friend today!
His name is Xander :)
He and Pixel get along very well and they are so cute ^____^

| So I have a new pet rat and his name is Pixel.
He's brown and furry.
He looks like this:
I feel horrible that he might not like his new home here with me. He
acted so scared and stayed so still for many minutes at a time. Then I
read online that rats should always be kept in groups of two or more...
He was probably so scared and traumatized not only because he was in a
new home, but because I stole him away from his litter mates as well.
Tonight I laid down and tried to go to sleep, but I started crying
because I feel so terrible for buying him when I was so uneducated. The
guy at the pet store said that they can be cared for like mice, and
since I've always kept mice alone, I assumed it would be the same for
rats. But from what I've read, rats can be emotionally damaged, develop
health problems more easily, and become neurotic if they're kept alone.
Every single site about rats that I've been on has said this.
Tomorrow I'm going to make up for my horrible deed. I am going to go
back to the petstore, and buy another rat from the bin that I got Pixel
from. I remember which bin because he was in a bin with another rat
that looked like him only with a white nose, and she was pregnant.
I won't let my pet live an unhappy life because of my stupidity. I'm
gonna get him one of his brothers so he can have a companion when I'm
not around to pet him and play with him.
Ok, now that I got that out, I'm going to try to go back to sleep.
