It's on my website actually. I like to tie it all together. It's at http://www.tomthinks.com/blog

End transmission.

Saturday, February 26, 2005

TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR FREAKING TEETH.

I went to the dentist yesterday morning. They took x-rays and what not. Turns out that I need two root canals and like a million fillings. I only have enough money for one root canal though, so I'm going to just get the worst one done and brush my teeth constantly to keep everything else in check while I save more money.

I know it'll be alright, but I just want to warn all ye. Heed my warning.

Friday, February 25, 2005

I really love snow. And I really love my room. I love my school.

Not that those things are the most important things to me, but I've just noticed how much I appreciate each of those things at the moment.

God is the best of all.

Tuesday, December 28, 2004

My dad got my family a remote control airplane for Christmas. I took it for a flight this afternoon. It went really well at first. I flew the plane around in circles, snapping shots of my little brother and I as it flew over us (there was a digital camera on the underside of the plane).

About 10 seconds later, the plane stopped listening to me and flew in it's own direction and kept going. I lost total control as it slipped out of range. Amazingly, it kept on flying. I ran to try to keep the plane in view, but it eventually passed over and beyond houses and trees that were in my way. I ran a block over and spotted it about a quarter of a mile south of where I was, but it was still flying higher and farther away. It quickly passed behind more trees.

There was no way for me to keep up with it, so I lost track of it. My mom took me for a drive to look for it, but we couldn't find it. It could have flown all the way to Burien for all I know.

It's a semi-amazing story, but it sucks that we don't have a plane anymore.

The end.

Monday, October 25, 2004

Important Announcement:Tom DesLongchamp is engaged to be married to the following woman:

Minus the lobsters.

Haha, Yes. It is true.

Her name is Jessica Phoenix, which translates into "Wealthy Bird" (Jessica = Hebrew word meaning wealth, Phoenix... duh). She is currently a senior in Illustration at the Rhode Island School of Design. She is from Stow, MA. She's a funny girl who loves Jesus Christ and always wishes to wear black. She's a diehard Radiohead, Grandaddy, and Muse fan. And thanks to the Texas folk(you all know who you are) she loves Midlake.

Jessica and Tom met for the first time in Spring 2003. Lengthy conversations began occuring in January 2004. Engagement occured in September 2004.

Unlike relationships of the popular culture, the Jessica-Tom relationship inolves 3 entities: Tom DesLongchamp, Jessica Phoenix, and a Lord/Savior/Friend named Jesus Christ (of Nazareth).

"Yeah, some people think it's strange, but marriage is pretty pointless without Him." Tom states.

Jessica and Tom have begun pre-marital counseling to prepare for their eventual marriage and have plans to tie the knot in August 2005.

All are advised and welcome to pray for Jessica and Tom to ensure God's will will be done in their lives.

Tom DesLongchamp is an editor and writer for his own xanga blog in which you are reading this very moment. Sometimes he thinks it's fun to write in 3rd person. What a weirdo.

Saturday, August 14, 2004

Today is Friday the 13th, ooooooooo, scary. Well, nothing freaky happened today. Actually something pleasant happened: Anthony is here! My friend Anthony came from Seattle on a plane of joy to Providence (actually Boston, but we took a train down here). Yeah.

I like Anthony. He is cool. He's sleepy because he had a red-eye flight. He's sleeping.

I'm getting a new host. It's this guy from Florida. He has a business. He's going to give me unlimited bandwidth and 200MB of space for $280.00 a year. That comes down to around $23 a month. That's pretty rad for unlimited bandwidth. He's also a Christian, so that's cool. He also might give me some animation work, because he runs a design business.

I go home on the 20th. Then on the 31st, Jessica will fly into Seattle for a visit of 7 days. She's coming to my church's retreat over Labor Day Weekend. That'll be sweet. She's gettin' baptized.

WatermanStudios.com is a pretty funny site. The funniest I've seen in a while actually. Check it out. Keep your eye out for Puppets In The Park--my favorite cartoon thing on there.

Saturday, August 07, 2004

Last Wednesday I went to a beach in southern Rhode island that actually had waves! Some of them were up to 3 or 4 feet even. I think it might have been because of that hurricane off the coast or something. Nevertheless I enjoyed a pleasant time body surfing with my friend Jesse and Patrick.

The waves were a little too big for Jessica, but it was still fun trying to get her out there. After a few nervous shrieks, she made me bring her back to shore.

Here's a picture of me, Jessica, Melissa, Jessica F., and Jason (my older brother) in New York City back in June. That was a fun trip. I've been pretty bad lately at not posting what's going on, so there might be more random history photos in further posts:

Wednesday, July 07, 2004

It is exactly 3 months til' my birthday. Neat. Oh yeah, I saw the Atlantic Ocean for the first time! Here is me doing such a thing:

I saw the creature from the black lagoon. He's retired though. We still rocked it like no one's business.

Well, huh. What is going on right now..... what is? I live in a new place. It is called Colonial Apartments. It's a few blocks away from the RISD freshman dorms. I bought a $15 junior drum kit from a transvestite on Benefit St. It was a good deal. The drums suck and they're slightly broken, but it was cheap... and they're fun.

I'm going to see Ben Folds on July 8th in Boston.

My older brother Jason, and two of my friends from home are visiting me here in Providence right now. It's neat. We're going to NYC tomorrow. It should be fun. I will take pictures. Will I post them? Maybe not. but maybe. May Bee hive.

I have a job. I work in the jewelery/metalsmithing department, cleaning up stuff and buffing hammers. No, I don't make jewelery.

The purpose of this entry is to inform you (the reader) current events from Tom's life. Although they are factual, their entertainment value is not high. So Tom will write a silly sentence to compensate:

My velocity is a spider. Go!

After I got out of class, I went back to my room and beat drums (empty tidy cats jugs and water bottles). I'm experimenting with sound.

After that I went to see Ben Kweller and Death Cab For Cutie. Both were amazing. It's the first show I've been to here in Rhode Island. It was fun.

After that I went to the midnight movie showing at the Avon. The movie was Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas. Wow was that a bizarre film! But I loved it. It was hilarious and interesting. I've never done drugs and I don't plan on doing any, but this film satisfies all of my curiosities about the experience of mind altering drugs. After watching the film, I felt like I was stoned. They portray the mad state of nonsense almost too well. But then again, I can only guess that it is accurate... sure seems like it.

The most interesting thing about the film is that it is based off a book of the same title written by this doctor guy, who is apparently still alive today and probably still high. The book is journal-like, about things that happened to him and his "lawyer".

Now I'm going to bed. Good night.
