"It's a thing that happens to you - when a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but really loves you - then you become Real."

"Does it hurt?" asked the Rabbit.

"Yes - that's why it doesn't happen to those who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be very carefully handled. Generally, by the time you are Real - most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real, you can't be ugly except to people who don't understand. When you are Real, you can take being hurt."
Quote Entirely Relevant to Life

"Tis better to burp and taste it than fart and waste it"

Words of wisdom my friends

excerpt from LoS.com... hilarious

How to know if you’re a baller:

	1. You don’t have a savings account, just a HUGE checking account
2. You make use of private air travel
3. You have outrageously expensive clothes, all of which were given to you for free
4. You’re dating a smoking hot babe
5. You’ve never heard of a mini-baller

How to know if you’re a mini-baller:

1. You choose to live paycheck to paycheck even though you have a
six figure salary. You have a 1% money market savings account with a
few thousand dollars, meanwhile you overdraft your checking account on
a regular basis.
2. You buy your flights on expedia but you don’t like to, you use miles
to upgrade to economy plus, you buy vodka tonics on the plane
3. You have outrageously expensive clothes, all of which you paid for
and most of which you buy because you saw a mini-baller the previous
night who was wearing that outfit and “getting it done”
4. You say “get it done” all the time. You’re not sure what this means,
but you know its important, and when you say it . . . you mean it.
5. You aren’t dating a smoking hot babe but you want to, so on saturday
nights you call your mediocre looking girl friends and ask them to help
you get into Marquee hoping you can meet a hot babe there. You look at
the liquor list and almost order Absolut, then you remember you’re here
to get it done and
so you pony up for the Goose. You always hit on the waitress and you
always tip her over and above her 20% grat, then usually you go home
with one of your mediocre friends. You like it, but you tell other
mini-ballers that you regret it.
6. You refer to yourself as a mini-baller, you tell other dudes that
you’re a mini-baller and suggest to them they start calling themself a
mini-baller too.

Quote Entirely Relevant to Life in general

"For every complex problem there is an answer that's clear, simple, and wrong"
Inspirational Quote of the Day

(while also entirely relevant to life in general...)

"When you've got nowhere to turn, turn on the gas"

Quote Entirely Relevant to Life in General

"Do I look like a b1tch?! You
don't express self pity, at least in a public medium. The truth is,
most of the time, nobody cares.

On the other hand, I understand there are times when people need to get
things off their chest. Even if you're fortunate enough to have a good
friend you can always talk to, sometimes it's hard to say things out
loud.

I don't know, maybe this is one of the reasons people go to church.
There, you always have someone to talk to, someone to listen, and
someone who will forgive. Guilt, loneliness, depression, self-pity... all are
very heavy emotional burdens to bear alone.

**************************

I watched the movie Click tonight. Makes me wonder how often my life
goes on auto-pilot. Surprisingly, I've liked the last few Adam Sandler
movies (Click, Spanglish, 50 First Dates). And I find Kate Beckinsale
immensely attractive.

**************************

The Prestige got good reviews and currently sits at the top of the box
office. I really want to watch it. I want to watch Flags of Our Father
too. Look up the battle of iwo jima. Trust me, you'll want to watch the
movie too after you've read about it.

**************************

The steelers score 38 and lose? Now that their offense (ie. Big
Ben) is finally starting to roll, the defense can't hold it
together. Is 2-4 too big of a hole to climb out of?
I plan/hope to keep going. Some
people have questioned my motives
(and rightly so).
while I still
have my qualms with church and church-goers, I must admit I found the
service rather... enjoyable.
Well, enjoyable is probably too strong a
word, but you get my drift...
anyway, not going to go into any further
detail, and i really didn't say what i wanted to say with this blog,
but I leave you with this thought from sunday's sermon;

"I am not alright"

*** edit ***

wanted to add 3 comments:
1) it's never too late to renew one's faith (whatever that may be)
2) determination, courage and love is far more important than ability
3) life is hard. after all, it kills you
