my grandparents are here. i like them. i've come to appreciate my family so much lately. now, my mother has been WORKING MY NERVES because she goes buck wild whenever she gets into host mode. i guess i should be more forgiving of that. anyway, the family unit can be such a beautiful thing, and mine is so far from perfect, but i dont think i could ask for anything or anyone more. they may embarrass me, my mom may be a nagger, my dad may wear fish pants and say obscure things on purpose, my sister may be loud...but hey, i fit right in.
last night, my sister, amber, my mom, and i went out to eat. and we went to town on the chips and salsa and queso (ew, just thinking about it makes my stomach turn) because it took a whole hour for our food to come out. i ordered a taco salad... and guess what i got? a plate with a teeny tiny layer of lettuce and meat and cheese heaped onto it. number one, i was thinking "where mah shell at?!" number two, "are you kidding me?" so i ate some of it and then said "i'm spent". i came home, checked out facebook etc and then went straight to bed (10 pm)... all this SAT prep, school ending, camp starting this weekend has my world in the spin zone... heh, where it always is. well, i woke up at 3 am and felt sooo sick. i have been throwing up ever since. even when there's nothing to throw up. thank you for the food poison, i thoroughly appreciate it. now my back hurts and my stomach feels so queasy. all this to say:
gross.

Lullaby-Shawn Mullins
she grew up with the children of the stars in the hollywood hills and the boulevard her parents threw big parties everyone was there they hung out with folks like dennis hopper, bob seeger, sonny and cher
now, she feels safe in this bar on fairfax and from the stage I can tell that she can't let go and she can't relax and just before she hangs her head to cry I sing to her a lullaby, I sing
everything's gonna be all right rockabye, rockabye everything's gonna be all right rockabye, rockabye rockabye
she still lives with her mom outside the city down that street about a half a mile and all her friends tell her she's so pretty but she'd be a whole lot prettier if she smiled once in a while `cause even her smile looks like a frown she's seen her share of devils in this angel town
But, everything's gonna be all right rockabye, rockabye everything's gonna be all right rockabye, rockabye rockabye
I told her I ain't so sure about this place it's hard to play a gig in this town and keep a straight face seems like everyone here's got a plan it's kind of like nashville with a tan, but,
everything's gonna be all right rockabye, rockabye everything's gonna be all right rockabye, rockabye
everything's gonna be all right rockabye, rockabye everything's gonna be all right rockabye, rockabye, rockabye, bye, bye bye, bye
