OPENING NIGHT A HIT!

Well, Opening Night for my new show "American Idol: Clay's Revenge" was a hit!  The audience really liked it.  I kinda knew the character Napoleon Dynamite would work well in this type of theater but he is working really well!  I mean, everytime the actor playing him opened his mouth, the audience just chuckled.  They loved him...And Paula, too!

The show itself went very well.  A few volume problems here and there.  The comment sheets I got back were positive.  So, the show now has "legs"...

My Stage Manager for this show is doing a fantastic job!  He has taken over all the responsibilities (like a Stage Manager should do) and I can just relax for the most part.  It was weird, though.  There were people in the audience last night that have been coming to my shows for years.  They know me very well.  I was sitting in the corner, out of the way.  Every now and then, these audience members would slowly turn their heads and look at me.  Like they were waiting for me to jump out at them or something.  One of the actors suggested I do a little part in the show but I declined.  This is my time to just enjoy it.  I am going to be in the next three shows and it will be a few years before I can once again "take a break"...Also in the audience was a Claymate.

A Claymate is a HUGE fan of Clay Aiken.  I mean a HUGE FAN.  I mention the Claymates in the show.  The Claymate seemed like a nice lady.  I truly like Clay Aiken and think he is talented.  I don't think he is hot, though.  Gay, Bi, or Straight he ain't my type but these ladies just love him and support him.   She talked to me briefly after the show.  I think she liked it for the most part.  I guess I will see in the very near future if she posts her review of the show.  I did try to convey to her that this show made fun of everybody, not just Clay.  Like I said, I'm sure I will see something on some Message Board in the not too distant future.  If her review is positive and she tells the other Claymates she had fun, maybe more Claymates will come to the show.   Anyway, this type of theater is not to be taken too seriously.  It is meant to be outrageous and a good time.

This week coming up is a tad less busy.  Actually, my Tarot Card Readings have picked up.

Today is MAJOR Cleaning, ya'll plus I finally have a chance to give myself a manicure and pedicure.  Sunday is up in the air.  We were suppose to have our family's last summer hurrah which means mini golf and go to this restaurant we all like.  But my son and his fiance got in a minor car accident and she crunched her hood.  My husband and FIL are going to fix it, so I assume because of my husband's very limited time, he'll be working on that instead.  I'll just clean and cook my roast and I guess go food shopping, too!  Monday is a Show out of State...Wednesday & FRiday are Tarot Card Readings...Saturday is a show.

So, it is calming down a bit.  I will be using the remainder of the month of October to play catch up on my life and work.  I will feel better when it is all finished.

Anyway, I was very pleased with our Opening Night.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY HUSBAND!!

A Very Happy 46th Birthday to my husband Chris!  A hard working average Joe that loves his family.  Nothing fancy about him yet he is so important to me and our son.  I love him very much.

Dress Rehearsal went well...

Hi folks!  My new show "American Idol: Clay's Revenge" had it's dress rehearsal tonight at Colonal House Restaurant and Bar.  We had a smallish crowd of about 15.  They seemed to enjoy it.  It is a good show.  It has some very funny moments to it and as I suspected, the audience really took a shine to Napoleon Dynamite.  They also really liked our spoof of Paula Abdul and her "craziness" throughout the play.  They liked everybody, really.

It was very strange for me to sit in the audience and just watch the show.  This was the first time I did that.  The Stage Manager had everything in hand and I did not have to do a thing.  I definately like performing in the shows better but it was nice to "take a break" this time around.  We will have a full house for our Opening Night on Friday Night, which is great!  (I think this will be the last time we perform at this place. I think they are going to sell it in the very near future, so it is nice to leave this place on a high note with a good show and a full house.  I am not sure if this will be the last show we do there but my "gut" is telling me it is).

Today was also my basset hound Peaches birthday.  She is now ten years old.  I will give her present to her on Thursday on my husband's birthday.  We are having cake and ice cream for both of them.  I got Peaches fancy gourmet doggy cookies which she loves.  I stopped buying her toys because she has so many and really doesn't play with them much anymore.  I stopped buying her rawhides (or as I call them "rawhideys" to the dog).  Since we moved to the new home and we have a nice sized backyard with dirt and grass, Peaches digs holes and hides them!  She does not chew them like she use to when we lived at the old place and the small yard was cement.

So, I just buy her treats and cookies which she truly loves.

The busy week continues on.  Tomorrow, I take my husband out to a Japanese Steakhouse for his birthday dinner.  Thursday is a parade plus party (cake and ice cream).  Friday is Opening Night.  Hopefully Sunday will be a family day.  Monday is an out of state show.  And then after that, things should start to get back to a normal pace.  I have been getting ALOT of calls lately about my shows and Tarot Card Readings.  I think some of them will call me back very soon to book both!  It looks like the ads/listing in my local Yellow Pages & Yellow Book are finally starting to bring me clients.  Thank God for that.  I was counting on them.

The Naughty Newlywed Game brochures are finished and look great.  It cost a bundle, though.  I will be contacting places for it very soon (sometime this month).  When I get some booked, I will then "put it all together".

Pulled Out The Garden...FINALLY!

Well, those two horrible lousy days are over with and I am back on track again.  Plugging away like I always do.  Today, I FINALLY got enough time to pull out my veg. garden, clean out my planters and flowerpots, pull out all the annuals except for my impatiens which look so pretty I just have to keep them around until the frost.  I'm about 1/3 finished with it all.

Tomorrow (Sat) my husband will be eating supper over at his mothers and I will be home alone for most of the day.  I'll use that time to wash out the flowerpots and wash up my patio/deck furniture.  Get that all ready to be covered up for the winter.  Then, my husband needs to really scrub the grill.  Once he does, we can cover that up.  And then the only thing left will be the pruning.   It takes a while to do that.  My husband prunes and I follow behind throwing the branches away.  Hopefully, we will be able to do  that next weekend and finish this all up!  Get it all snug and secure and ready for the winter.

I have one more week of this really busy schedule and then I FINALLY have some days off to  catch up on the stuff I need to finish.  I am ready for my life to even out a bit, too.   It is always stressful starting up a new show.  We have the very last rehearsal for it at  my house this Sunday and then it starts touring.  The rehearsal process for these types of shows is long and tedious.  It takes alot of time to get it just right, up to performance level.  One of my actor's got a severe back spasm and had to go to the Hospital ER.  It was so bad they put him on major meds and he just now was allowed to return to work.  He missed the last two rehearsals because of his back.  I will see him this Sunday.

I plan on working on my "Lucy" script, The Naughty  Newlywed Game stuff, and getting my Christmas Party all organized and finished.  I want to enjoy my Christmas.  I do not want to be typing my script by Christmas Tree Lights like last year!  I want that "Lucy" script written, typed, copied, and sent out to the actors BEFORE December!  It is doable but I must find enough time to do it!  Like I said, after the new show opens, I will be able to really dig in there and write!

Sooo, my schedule for next week is Sunday-Line Thru Rehearsal at my house, Monday-Food Shopping, Tuesday-Dress Rehearsal for "American Idol: Clay's Revenge" ( I think we are going to have like 20 people coming), Thursday-My husband's 46th Birthday.  I am having Cake and Ice Cream for him.  His family is coming over to my house because one of my husband's nephews is in a Halloween Parade that will be on that day.  So, we will have cake and watch the parade, Friday-Opening Night.  Monday-Out Of State (NJ) Show...

I look forward to when I am all caught up with everything...

Except for a few good moments...

THE LAST TWO DAYS SUCKED!!  Oh my God, I've had it, ya'll!  No major negativity or anything like that but I have spent the last two days with all these little "issues" and "problems" and naggy little "worries" and out of the blue stress!  YIKES!  I feel like that guy lying in the middle of the ring and Ali represents my life for the last two days!

Listen, I know we all have  "these days".  It is part of life.  I know today will be better.

Still, I HAAATTTEEE THIS!!

I am not even going to get into all I had to deal with for the last two days.  Yep, it is too much to list and I just want to move on from it.  I know it will work itself out.

On positive notes for the last two days, I had a wonderful time at this Tarot Party/Realtors Open House gig yesterday.  I got to read Tarot for alot of real estate agents and most of what came through for them was very encouraging.  They all said I did a good job.  I think I amazed some, too.  I hope The Universe sends me more of these gigs.

I have also had my contract signing for a Dec. 6th  Company Christmas Party Show.  And my phone is ringing with many places asking for info.

Um, that's about it, though.  The rest of the last two days was pure mess!  AHHHH!!

My attitude is head down and perserve.  Onward!
