I've had a knee surgery scheduled for April 5th for awhile now. I went to the doctor yesterday about my tonsils, and he said a tonsillectomy was an OPTION. Based on what he said it would do for me (ex: not getting such bad sore throats so often, and when I get that stupid coxsackie virus, I won't feel so sick) I decided I really wanted my tonsils gone, but the earliest date the base hospital could do it is March 19.

Today I called Shriner's to see if the 17 days between the surgery dates would be enough to recover. The lady I talked to said that I should have a month to recover and that they could reschedule the knee surgery for later. I'm already supposed to be on crutches for prom, and I'm barely going to make it off of them for graduation, so that didn't sound like a great option.

I said that I'd rather push the tonsillectomy back, but then she said that the anesthesiologist wouldn't let me have the knee surgery until after my tonsils were gone, [apparently she didn't care that it was, once again, OPTIONAL] but then she called my mom to ask if I could come in to have the knee surgery TOMORROW (I'm on the short notice waiting list because we live so close, and if someone coming from another state gets sick or something and can't have surgery, they call me.)

So first of all, I don't know what changed about the tonsils thing between the time I talked the nurse and the time the nurse called my mom. And at first I was fighting with my mom trying to get her to let my have the surgery tomorrow, but then I thought about it and realized that being sick and having a Speech tournament on Saturday are two pretty good reasons NOT to have surgery tomorrow.

Long story short, I liked it better when they told me I was going to have surgery then I went in and had it done. There was no prom or graduation or tonsils or ANYTHING to worry about.

    I think I need a hug :[

    Boy:
Will someone please call a surgeon
Who can crack my ribs and repair this broken heart
That you're deserting for better company?
    I can't accept that it's over...
I will block the door like a goalie tending the net
In the third quarter of a tied-game rivalry

So just say how to make it right
And i swear i'll do my best to comply

Tell me am i right to think that there could be nothing better
Than making you my bride and slowly growing old together

    Girl:
I feel I must interject here
you're getting carried away feeling sorry for yourself
With these revisions and gaps in history
So let me help you remember.
I've made charts and graphs that should finally make it clear.
I've prepared a lecture on why i have to leave

So please back away and let me go

    Boy:
I can't my darling i love you so...

    Oh, oh

Tell me am i right to think that there could be nothing better
Than making you my bride and slowly growing old together

    Girl:
Don't you feed me lines about some idealistic future
Your heart won't heal right if you keep tearing out the sutures

    Boy:
I admit that i have made mistakes and i swear
    I'll never wrong you again

    Girl:
    You've got a lure i can't deny,
But you've had your chance so say goodbye
    Say goodbye
