Currently Watching
Where the Heart Is
By Natalie Portman, James Frain
see related

The strangest thing just happened, about 15 minutes ago. First of all, remember that I live in central Arizona, not California. Any ways, I'm sitting in my room watching "Where The Heart Is" (Very good movie) when the whole house shakes pretty violently for about five seconds. Since I've posted last, we have moved into a very large six bedroom house. This wasn't just one of the wind gusts that this area is famous for. The wind doesn't phase this house at all. I will be curious to see if there is any documentation made on this 'little' earthquake. If I had to guess, by the way, I would have to say 5 or 6 mag. For our valley, this is almost unheard of.

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted. Not much happening. You know the saying; "Same S***, Different Day!" Well, that describes my life really well.

I've been going to physical therapy so that, hopefully, I can get back to work. As it is I have to find a different line of work, due to my illness. Just not able to lift 200 pounds at a time anymore.

My sister and I are trying to get a side - business started. It's strictly local, and most definitely in it's infant stage right now. We make erotic cakes. For a small town, there are some pretty weird people around here! We got an order the other day for a full torso cake that has boobs and a cock! Neither one of us liked the way it turned out at all. We showed it to the customer, with the offer of re - doing it if she didn't like it. She absolutely loved it! It was a birthday cake for her hubby, who happens to be bi. She came by the day after the birthday party and gave us a hundred dollar tip. She said that everyone just had a great time with the cake and that hubby thought it was the best one he had ever had! We have gotten five other orders from the people at her party. So far, after only two months in business, we have done almost fifty cakes, all from word of mouth advertising. The best thing about this business is the fun we have while baking/decorating these cakes. Hopefully, in the near future, we can make this our full - time job.

We learned a very stressful lesson today.

We took all of our four - legged animals in on the same day to get them fixed. It's absolutely crazy at our house tonight!

We have five (yes, 5!) female cats, one female dog and one male cat, all in stitches. Not one of them is completely over the drugs yet. Our living room is temporarily carpeted with blankets, because we have cold cement floors.

I think that one of the cats, Smoky, might have been a tad overdosed. She didn't wake up from surgery until almost six hours afterwards. According to the vet, as long as she woke up before the twelve hour mark, she will be in good shape. This cat belongs to my brother -in -law. I feel so sorry for him because he is so worried that she is going to have residual problems from being under for so long. I have to admit that I'm a softy, because it just didn't feel right to watch this unconscious little creature being carried out of the office in a crying man's arms. All of us shed a few tears over that.

But everyone seems to be doing okay. The youngest ones are even trying to play already. (We were told not to let them play for 14 days.) It's going to be an interesting couple of weeks!

Sierra, my dog, is sleeping against my legs. She had her surgery very early this morning. On the ride home, she reminded me of someone who is extremely drunk. You know that feeling that the room is spinning and won't stop? That's the way she appeared to be feeling, the poor baby. She is doing fairly well, though. Everyone in the family is finding out that she is definitely a one person dog when she doesn't feel well! She won't even accept water from anyone else! I love my baby girl!!!

I start physical therapy tomorrow to try to build up my strength and stamina, so that I might be able to go back to work. I truly hope it works. I'm soooooo tired of having no income!! I'm also ready for some action somewhere outside of these four walls. I think I have every nail hole and crack memorized!!! Wish me luck, everyone!

Kids Are So Much Fun To Watch!!

A life-long friend of my daughter is staying over tonight. So we have 4 (yes, FOUR!) teenage girls in the house. Their ages, 13, 14, 14, 15. We must be out of our minds!! (But that's a different story! haha) Anyways, we decided to ask the girls if they would like to put the ornaments on the tree. They all excitedly said yes.

So, you have four young ladies, all perfectionists when it comes to this particular job, competing for space while trying to make the tree look balanced. To funny! Within about five minutes, the tree was on top of my daughter. Two of the other girls decided to put up ornaments in the same spot and pushed the tree right over on Sina!

We get the tree back upright and put the lights back where we wanted them in the first place, and.......  one of the girls decides the Wizard that we have as a topper is crooked. So she gets a chair, squeeeeeezes in between the other girls with it, and reaches for the wizard. Well, the tree ended up on top of the dog, with the girl on top of the tree! Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase, "Dog Pile!!!" By this time the parents are all totally out of control with laughter!

Finally, we ask the girls to take turns putting on their ornaments, thinking that maybe that will be safer. Yeah, right! Sina's friend walks up to the tree, bends over to put on the last ornament, and stands up a little to close to the tree. The whole thing very slowly starts tipping toward the picture window. Guess what............... you're right! We couldn't catch it in time! The glass broke, the whole tree just gracefully slipped over the window frame and ended up on it's wizard topper in the driveway. Only the butt end was visible from inside the house. (By the way, three cars stopped in the middle of the street to say, get this, "Nice tree!") We retrieved the tree and found all the little ornaments that had rolled all over the driveway (Christmas lights just aren't that bright!). My Sis and I tried, I repeat tried, to turn on the yard light to see the lost ornaments better. The light had no bulb in it. Sis' hubby had removed the bulb so that "people can see the christmas lights better". One big problem with that... we have no more regular lightbulbs, the stores are all closed, and hubby dear broke the yard lightbulb!! (Of course, he couldn't have told us that when we went to the grocery store today! Nooooo, that would have made sense!)

Okay, so the tree is back inside, the window is boarded up until tomorrow when we can get it fixed. Now we have to start all over again with putting ornaments on the tree. The four teenage girls sat on the couch and my Sister re-decorated the tree. She said she couldn't handle any more laughter without Depends.

Strange; we started decorating the tree at 5 oclock tonight, it's 3 in the morning and we JUST finished it!  Take a look:

Doesn't look like it should have taken 10 hours to decorate it, does it? We had to put the curtains back, we didn't like the big black hole that the board made the window look like. Sorry about the focus, I was way beyond simple laughter by then!!!

This is one Christmas that I will not forget!!
