one of the really great things about summer is "camping" of course. we had our first one for this summer last weekend.  it was such a good weekend...even tho we had some rain. ...for the most part it was beautiful. one of the neat things about "evergreen" park versus some others we've been to is that even if you get some rain your're not gonna have the mud that you do at some campgrounds.  paved roads....nice grass.....no muddy spots all over the place.

some pics of our weekend. and yeah ....even tho it was almost july we had some cool evenings by the looks of these bundled up ppl.  they look downright scary i know.

here we are all bundled up and waiting for the fireworks show. which i might add...started off super but then with the clouds/smoke and i'm not sure for whatever reason they were next to impossible to see towards the end which was so sad.

we had a pretty serious fire that night and it felt awesome

this one's for you bob

i caught renae and sasha getting all set to see which one is the "biggest"

sasha trying to convince herself and renae that she is...poor kid is almost always the shortest

staci and meg seeing if they're any good at racing.

signing off for now..........happy 4th!

a year ago yesterday i became something i had never been before. it took some getting used to if i have to admit it.....to think of myself as a "grandma".  but ...i've gotten very used to the name and don't mind it a bit!

Kayley is so precious and we love her so much. she's very sweet and loves her little aunts and they think the world of her.

yesterday was her first birthday and we had so much fun watching her dig into her cake.

intently watching the bubbles being blown

starting on the pile of gifts.

she was thrilled w/ her cake. it was such a pretty princess one

her own little one to bash

that first bite wasn't too bad tasting

i'll try another one

i might as well go at it w/ both hands

sasha is amazed at the mess

by that time i (the grandma) was more than happy to turn the clean up of this lil sweetie to her mommie

there's only one place to go w/ a mess like this

how can a year go by this fast???   incredible!

oh and switching gears here........the garage sale was a smashing success!  i'm so grateful to have gotten so many things taken off my hands!  thanks to all who came and helped me out!  bless your hearts

one little lady had to get up a little earlier that morning
than what she normally does

stef  messing w/ the tubes

i wish you all a great week!

here we are ready to start a new week.  i am hoping and praying that i can get at least really close to finishing my project over at the old house if not all the way done.  we shall see.  i've learned a whole new appreciation for the word perseverence.  i have felt like quitting more than once and am thankful i plodded on. even after stepping into something the beginning of the week last week that i had to pull out of my foot i forced myself to go on. now i'm so thankful i did cause i can see a light at the end of my humongous tunnel. thank God for helping me cause without Him giving me the strength and will power i wouldn't be this close to being done.

but i also realize our turn to be host is next sunday so that means......putting some things on hold to do other things i need to do. also bookwork is once again piling up crazy fast!

we had small group here tonight. we had a lovely evening. it was still so warm at 10:00 it's amazing. i love this weather so very much!  i'm not one to complain about the heat anyway.

here's what the kids have been doing this weekend to keep cool

we had kayley here since friday and have we had fun with her. she's at such a fun age!  almost ready to turn one yrs. old already!  she walks all over the place....says a few words and does  the cutest things. i didn't have the time but i'd  catch myself just standing watching her.

kleenex anyone?

sofie and sasha adore her and she adores them

oh and  i love these wisteria flowers. they're so elegant looking things. the plant itself needs a trim so badly but the flowers are gorgeous.

ANNIVERSARY.........THANK GOD FOR LITTLE GIRLS

June 4.........today might just have been another day to most of ya....but to my hubby and I it was a day for celebrating.  oh yeah....a person can celebrate an anniversary in all kinds of ways. some go to the bahamas...while others might not get any further than florida, or california. imagine that!  what kind of a hubby wouldn't take his dear precious honey out of the states on each and every anniversary!?!?  actually if mine had suggested even leaving the state or even our town for more than a couple of  hours this year i would have probably wondered about his sanity. i honestly didn't think we'd do anything more special than working on our old house just like we've been doing every day for ....not sure...a couple weeks.  we actually did make it to canton....hit lowe's and sam's club ( i know...so romantic!)  and then olive garden!  yahoo!  was it awesome. or was i just starved??  dont' know which. maybe both. anyways it was great from the salad and garlic loaded breadsticks to the coffee we got to go.  my portabella stuffed ravioli with sun-dried tomato's was heavenly. my personal favorite there btw.  should have taken a pic of it. it's gorgeous looking. oh....and so awesome cause our gift card was the perfect amount . even including the tip!  how sweet!  trust me if you've just got done building and trying to get the other house ready for a guest house you're gonna be taking advantage of any gift cards that may be in your possession.

so yeah we've been married forever it seems. can't imagine life without him....what a wonderful guy! he's gotta be above average to have put up with me all the years.....;)

gotta tell ya about my sweet sweet girls!  the two oldest were being so sweet and were helping me slave away out in the old house. i remember wondering where my 3 youngest are and what they're up to when i get a text from stefani saying to quickly "drop everything and hurry back to the house" both dad and me.  so i ran expecting the worst like a fire in the house or something. well there was a "fire" in the house in the form of a candle. here they had all the lights turned off , the blinds all closed and candles burning on the table with the table set for 2 and all the best dishes, napkins folded in some fancy way that i couldn't do if somebody held a gun to my head, grape juice in the glasses and the sweetest hand written notes that made me cry beside our plates, and a place card with out names on them so we'd for sure know where to sit i guess.  they had made salad and peanut butter and honey sandwiches for us that they said are absolutely delishus!  seriously it was so special.

then tonight when we got back home they had it all there again with banana splits and coffee! i took pics  and will put them on. i feel so blessed that God has blessed us with such incredibly sweet loving girls! I'm so fortunate to be their mommie!  i love them so much!

here are our waitresses....in their words...our servants.

the banana splits were totally scrumtious...they had used caramel and hot fudge

sofie relaxing after her "hard work"

we brought them our left-over bread sticks

this is what her (sofie's )  note said.....in a 8 yr old's handwriting....Mom, you are the best mom in the hole intire world. i love you from sofie to mom happy aniversry  i love you so so so so so much.    i tear up just looking at it.  roy's note said pretty much the same thing with the exception of "dad" in place of "mom"

we are finally having flip-flop weather!  love it!  one of the last weeks of school they had a flip-flop day when everybody was allowed to wear flip-flops. here they are ready to leave

did i tell you what sasha said to me....she said ..."mommie i twied my fwip fwops on and i fought to myself why are these called fwip fwops?...then i walked and they fwip-fwopped and i fought that's why they're called fwip-fwops!"   i love when they think and figure things out.

THANK  GOD FOR LITTLE GIRLS!
