| Growing up? I don't think so.I have been told so many times recently that I am now officially a grown up. Why would someone say that of me if we have ever met? I love Spider-Man and can talk of him endlessly. I have a school-girl crush on Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters) and can also talk of him for a good deal. I am a young romantic with my wife. My favorite thing to do with free time is play a game (disc golf). So, again, why would anyone feign to think of me as grown up?
#1 - We have a house. We are closing on the townhome in a few weeks. If you want to look at it (as previously decorated by the old owner) it is here. We could not be more excited. If that link doesn't take you there, go to northernarizonamls.com and go to FIND PROPERTIES, then use the mls# 129231. To negate that previous comment, we could be a little more excited if the second reason wasn't there.
#2 - We are....keep on scrolling

Pregnant! Who liked that little game? Eh? EH? Due around the start of December. She is bearing through it, trying to fight first trimester woes as well as she is able. Here is the little tyke as of a few weeks ago. What a cute blurry blob. Sorry for those who had to find out this way, but time difference is a bear. Peace!

| Moving?A good deal has been happening lately, so I will try and give a brief run down. We started looking around for a house and found a townhome we liked. We have a contract out for the house, but are waiting to hear back from the realtor about this short sale situation...it is more complex than I can share, so just know that we are in the waiting game for buying a house. A friend named Mark LaFay came into town with a few of his bands (he manages Haste the Day, Still Remains, Gwen Stacy and Secret & Whisper) and it was great to see him. Other than watching a good set from Secret and Whisper, we enjoyed some great BBQ. He is one cool cat. This weekend I found out that a disc golf tournament that I had been looking forward to for MONTHS was declared an A-tier event, which in laymans terms, you must be a PDGA member to play in it. While I love disc golf tremendously, I never went that extra step to join the PDGA. I lamented this to my father-in-law and brother-in-law who were planning on flying in to play the tourney that I can't play since i wasn't a member. My father-in-law shocked me by calling back to say that if that was the only thing keeping me from playing, he would buy my registration cost to become a PDGA member. !!!!!!!!!!!! Since the news came, I have been excited all day long. I will now have a # to record my scores as well as enable me to play in one of (if not my top) favorite tournaments. So watch out, fellow Treebash players, I am in! Major thanks to FIL (father-in-law...clever, eh?) Back to work. Concert to see the people from Once the movie next week. I am a happy fellow. -andrew | | |
| life goes onMy habit has been to post in shotgun style, standing back and surveying what has occurred, writing little about all of it, and having it spread like the spray out of the gun. I hope not to do that.
Things have been great. The quick catch up will simply be that things have proceeded in normal fashion. My job is still a job. I still make sure people pay their medical bills and enter those payments into the computer (I wish I could say it was more complex than that...it isn't). Meagan is still enjoying her job in the appraisal world. Unlike most of this nation, the housing market here isn't dead. It slowed down, but nothing tanked. Which brings us to our next thought...
I had a funny incident a few weeks ago with our apartment manager. We knew some of the behind the scenes things going on in the apartment world because a friend of ours is VP of one of the large management companies in the area. Because of that knowledge, we knew that our apartment was up for sale. Our friend's company did research on "market value" for what rent was per unit here, and lo and behold, ours was under that MV. If we were to be bought, by anyone, rent was most likely going to go up. Weeks went by, and we hadn't heard anything about the sale from our complex...but we knew, according to our friend, that their company had been undercut and worked over by someone, and that some company had bought us. I was a little concerned about what that meant for us (we had also heard friends' apartment complexes raised their rent) and our pocketbook, so I called our manager and the conversation went a bit like this. "Hey (manager). I have a few questions for you.""Ok, what's up?""Have we been bought out yet?""No, we haven't.""Alright, then secondly, has our rent gone up for this next year?""We don't know that yet. Our company hasn't decided yet if it will go up or not for next year.""So, we haven't been sold and we our rent hasn't gone up?""Nope.""Ok, thanks (manager)." Not even one week later, we receive a letter on our door, stating that we had been sold to another company. Come to find out, our manager wasn't lying. The higher management didn't tell anyone. My call prompted her to ask her boss, hey, someone in our complex is asking if we were sold; were we? With their tail between their legs, they told her that they were and were "waiting for the right time to tell everyone." The staff here got the shaft, being told to move on site and keep their jobs or start looking elsewhere. That same manager, who really is a great gal, told Meagan that she wanted to apologize for me because she wasn't lying but it did seem like it, and, by the way, our rent is going up 100 a month. ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!? 100 bucks MORE a month? We are already paying a good deal, so 100 more way pricey. So we are looking...
Peace.
