So many ways to communicate... so why don't I?

Here we are with so many ways to communicate with others. It seems the microwave mentality has corrupted my view of communication. If it isn't easy, fast, and very convenient, then I don't want to use it. Here is my perfectly good blog... last real entry almost a year ago. Why? Because I'm getting as lazy in my online communication as I am with my microwave lunch. I have to take a little more time than just updating my status on facebook. All of this to say... thanks for taking the time to read this little rant.

Now for something with some meat on it. I want to share with everyone what has been developing with our ministry at Network211. I am excited to say things are moving along very well with Project 10Million. This is our goal to partner with ministries around the world to evangelize utilizing technology/internet to reach 10 Million people for Christ in the next 10 years. What does "Friend of Sinners" really mean? This past sunday at church we talked about "Seeing Others Through God's Eyes". At one point Pastor Tommy talked about Jesus being called "Friend of Sinners". That Jesus loved other, specifically those rejected by Jewish society as sinners, so much that the religious leaders insulted him by calling him a friend of sinners.

So why is it that today's Christians isolate themselves from the world? I understand holding a standard of holiness in our lives, but if we are to be like Christ, shouldn't we be labled as "Friends of Sinners"? I know I'm probably the first that needs to hear this. When I stop and think, "who is the last person I've talked to, or spent time with, that doesn't know Christ?" I'm sad to say I don't really know how long it's been... 3... 4 or more years!!!??!!?!! I know a lot of what I do at Network 211 and at North Point has an impact on unsaved lives, but what have I done person to person? When I see someone that is not like me, how do I respond to them? When I have to deal with people who are "Extra Grace Required" individuals, do I look at them as God does?

This message has really challenged me to stop and look at my life and what I'm doing. I know I'm doing work to further the cause of Christ, but have I buffered myself from sinners with technology? I am now looking forward more to being involved with Network 211's newest project 1-2-1 connections, that will allow volunteers to respond to internet inquirers seeking Christ online. My past experience with online response to evangelism challenged me as I answered some tough questions about Christianity to those seeking truth. North Point Church Videos

My church, North Point, has moved into our new sanctuary. This new building has allowed us to double the capacity of the room to seat 1000 and incorporate video, lights and special effects. If you are familiar with Hill Song videos you have a good idea of what our services are like now. In addition to utilizing video in the services, I have been able to capture and upload the sermon video online. If you get a chance, check out the North Point page on Network 211. You can listen or watch the sermons online, or download the MP3 to listen to later. I really enjoy getting to be a part of developing the media ministry at North Point, so I hope you enjoy the video.

Well, I just noticed that I haven't made an entry on my blog in over 4 months... That is probably due to the fact that I have been working like crazy to try to get a revised version of the main ministry website for Network 211 launched. If you haven't been there since the first of August or ever... please take the time to look around the site. I know you will enjoy the Online Audio/Video section. I would encourage you to listen to some of the music by Dave Villano, a friend of mine and awesome musician.

Also take some time and look through the Resource Centers. These centers contain wonderful links to various resources for areas of life and ministry. The best part is that all the content in the Resource Centers can be loaded into any church or ministry website using Network 211 Source. Now if you are wondering why I have an advertisement to the right, let me explain. In our search for promotional items for Network 211, we found a web site that sells video MP3 players at a great price. Time for Cute Dog Pictures

I took this cute picture of Milo doing his best to ask a question while sleeping with Chloe. It cracks me up, he will just roll on his back and put his paws straight up in the air. I really enjoy the fur balls, most of the time. If I'm trying to get some work done or trying to eat something, they tend to be a major pain.

Of course, I can't post a picture of Milo and Chloe without posting a picture of Jake. This picture is about a year old, but I wanted to use it. This picture was used in a 2007 Dog calendar. It is funny, this picture fit so well with a quote about a dog tilting its head and thinking humans were crazy. I'm sure this is exactly what Jake was thinking when I took this picture. I whimpered and whinned to get his attention... He obviously couldn't imagine why I'd be making such strange noises from the free side of the gate. Enjoy the pics!

Ice Storm Pics

Well, here I am over a week after the storm and things are finally close to normal. I still have friends that don't have power and some that probably won't for another 30 or more days. CRAZY!!! I guess that is what they get for living out in the country... still seems like it would be nice to live in the country to me. (just make sure you have a generator) Anyway, here are some pics from Saturday, we got even more ice on Sunday and broke even more branches from the trees. My friend Tim previously lived in Alabama and said the damage here looks alot like hurricane damage.

For those of you who don't know I had a major part of my biggest tree fall in a wind storm this past summer. Now after seeing all the damage from surrounding trees, I know God had a plan to save my house from costly damage. If you notice my tall tree with stubs on the top, there used to be a 30' section that connected just below the stubs. Each of the stubs were 15'-20' branches that extended over my house and the neighbor's house. We had those branches trimmed, because we were afraid the unbalanced tree would fall in another storm. In this ice storm we had no worries that any of the large branches would fall from that tree on the house. There aren't any large branches in that tree anymore. Well, enjoy the pics... ice can be beautiful even if it destroys so many other beautiful things.
