| Wedding scenes at the end of a movie piss me off!!!Hello gang, I just pulled myself up on the soapbox..here it comes!! Why is it that every romantic comedy movie finishes with the gratuitous wedding scene? OH MY FRIGGIN' GOD!!! It ruins most of what I just watched. Example in point "Dan in Real Life", cute movie, nice acting by Steve Carell, Juliette Binoche, even Dane Cook (nice acting and Dane Cook should never and I mean NEVER be used in the same sentence, so forgive me). The movie could have finished just fine with Dan finding Marie at the gym at the end of the movie but NOOOOOOO, they had to put in the last little wedding scene to put the little red friggin' bow on what would have been a nice little movie. Note to writers, directors and producers...WE DON'T ALWAYS NEED THE RED BOW!!! We get it, they found happiness, leave some mystery in there for christ's sake. Leave it up to the viewer's imagination (i.e. Soprano's finale, which I actually liked). We're not sheep that need to be spoonfed what happiness can result in. The next time I see a gratuitous wedding scene at the end of a movie, I'm going to go headbut a small child for the cathartic release. OK, I'm have now officially been lowered off of the soapbox, I apologize to the soapbox for my girth, I really need to get to the gym. Namaste, The Hammonator | | |

| Hillary Clinton and the PipsAfter a fantastic rendition of "Midnight Train to Georgia" at a recent debate, Hillary Clinton and the Pips are ready to hit the road.
If they can only get Bill Richardson to get the choreography down, this group will be slammin'. Rating: Off Da' Hook Namaste, The Hammonator
| Annie Lennox - Songs of Mass DestructionAnnie Lennox - Songs of Mass Destruction (2007) Track Listing

I really don't think there is a need to give you a thorough background on Annie Lennox. Now some of you may be too young to remember "The Eurythmics", and as Stuart Smalley would say, "And that's o.k.". Her voice as always been one of the more distinguishable voices in music over the last 25 years. In the hodgepodge of sound alike R&B divas, not to mention the American Idol sound of the last few years, when you hear Annie, you can't mistake her for anyone else.
All but one of the tracks are written by Lennox, which is another thing that sets her apart from many of the female vocalists today. She has won an Academy Award for songwriting (Lord of the Rings). She also has a strong background in music studying flute at the Royal Academy of Music (Top that Britney!!). Two tracks that really stand out are "Dark Road" and "Sing". Lennox's voice is the canvas for which all of the music is ultimately placed upon. She doesn't put out the "cookie cutter" projects that we have been inundated within music over the last 10 years. When she puts out a project, it feels that every note and word has meaning and purpose and is well-crafted. If you haven't listened to any of this disc yet....GO LISTEN TO IT!!! It's good...no, really....it's good. Rating: A Namaste, The Hammonator
