| | Einstein is the only man to disprove his theory. i personally thought that i could make a theory on "the hokie pokie." my colleague and I have established that "the hokie pokie" meaning can't be proven/disproven through imperical methods, rather our own philosophy.
We have concluded that the underlining meaning of the “hokie pokie that’s what it’s all about” isn’t what it’s all about. Yes, it’s hard to fathom that this is indeed a true statement. Of course you put your left foot in and put your left foot out, but what is the essence of this song? Is it a mathematical sequence, merely to pass time? Or is it something else, something deeper? These are some of the questions I have pondered for hours at a time. I have never done the “hokie pokie” to pass time, nor has it never helped me with homework. There has to be a philosophy to it. We don’t do the “hokie pokie” to be mathematical or symmetrical, we do it to express ones self. While doing the “hokie pokie” you escape everything. You enter your most desired reality. You’re filled with tranquility, serenity, desire, passion. Is it because it’s a mathematical sequence? No. It’s because of the lights, the music, and the overwhelming ambiance of the connection with the surrounding people moving as one.
It’s not about what you do (put your left foot in), but why you do it (express yourself through motion and to have the “hokie pokie” experience with friends). That’s what it’s all about….
