Life in the Bar Exam Vortex

I went home much earlier than usual today.. and felt really guilty.  I am not lacking motivation, just energy.  I guess being tired is to be expected, considering I have to keep a steady pace on this 10-week schedule.

Our study group is pretty fun, despite everyone's occasional cranky days.  Monday through Friday and sometimes Saturday, we have lecture until 1pm or so.  After lunch, we congregate in the Trial Advocacy Honors Board office.  This is where we sit [read: gain weight] doing practice exams and outlining.. and sometimes hit sore spots arguing about minor points of law.

We put this up as encouragement.. and sorta to mock that "motivational" speaker that came and suggested that we relieve our stress by "visualizing" our success.  Yeah, surrrrre lady.

One corner of the office.. complete with snacks and a football for when we take breaks and get some sun.

Our school's SBA President sent this out.  She's a sweetheart.

More encouragement.  Obviously, I am actually not on the Trial Advocacy team, but my study buddy throughout my second and third year, Ryan, is.  We use this huge white board to outline, to show off what we know, and.. to argue about more points of law that we dont agree on.

Alright, I am going to enjoy my evening off.  No more thinking.

I had a great dream last night.  It was super realistic, with no random ppl and no bizarre dialogue.  My senses were so sharp that I can still recall the scents, sounds and touch.

It was so real.  And so wonderful!

And then my alarm went off.. like straight out of a movie.  I think if I think about the dream tonight before I go to bed, I may be able to continue the fantasy-dream sequence haha

Steven Hahn & Francis Hsueh are attorneys-turned filmmakers who recently finished, "Pretty to Think So", a romantic love triangle story involving an Indian investment banker, a Korean lawyer, and a Chinese youth minister.

VC

The film is set in the era of the dot-com bust of 2000.  It recently world premiered at the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival and sold out all 3 shows.

The film’s trailer:  http://www.prettytothinkso.com/trailer.html

You dont have to be artsy fartsy to go to these things.  If anything, its a gesture to support those in the Asian Pacific community who are doing something other than the ordinary.  Please spread the word!  Thanks.
