  • Twas the night before

Wednesday sunrise and all through the house, only one creature was stirring and it wasn't a mouse.  The wooden/metal rake was hung by the dog house with care with thoughts that no rain would be falling there.  The dogs and the husband were snoring away, leaving  only me to wake up very early this day.

The thunder it rolled past my house like a freight train, only to leave us with very little rain. My big box fan almost blocked out the noise but the lightening, a freak thing, produced more fun than Little Mam's toys.  Once it was over I sprang from my bed, to send out much needed email and check the bank account with dread.

Now nearly one hour later, I am wide awake.  I will try to go back to bed for my sake.  So good night/ or morning what ever you decide, I am going back to sleep for I feel deprived.

  • Why can't people just write on a response card and mail it back?  Out of 200 people who are invited to YK's wedding, only 50 have responded.  No one seems to know how to mail back a card that is already stamped, addressed and ready to go once a simple line is checked.  I am not a happy camper!  The final numbers are due in this week and we are trying to draw blood from turnips.

4 years ago when MK was married, we had many responses and thus we set the final number for the reception.  22 people who said yes, did not even show up so we spent 400 dollars on extra food.  I was surprised that a few of the younger boys could wolf down the food so  we had enough and we did not waste much.  Now we have the opposite situation of maybe not having enough.

I am posting 2 pics of YK, one with YKhusband to be and the other from her bridal shower as we have the toilet paper brides to view.  That was fun!
That is enough of my soap box writing.  Mother's day was wonderful and very quiet.

  • Things that make me smile

are  1)  YK will be married 3 weeks from today and then we don't have another wedding to throw ;)
           2) The following pictures make me smile.

My Mom and my Mother-in-law and my step-mother make me smile.  I am so blessed to have each one of them in my life.  Happy Mother's day to each of you!

  • The surprise was

Little Mam and her mommy were flown in from their home to our home!  We surprised Youngest Kid the day before the bridal shower and we have been having fun ever since.  I have taken so many pictures and we have not laughed so hard and so often in a long time.  How wonderful that we get to have them back at the end of  the month.

Middle Kid and Little Mam go home tomorrow so I will very much enjoy today.  Youngest Kid had a wonderful bridal shower and we had Uncle Bird's parents over for dinner right afterwards.  We had not met most of his family before and we wanted to do that before the wedding.  Who can take time to get the details in order for this wedding that is a little over 3 weeks away?

The wedding plans are now falling in to place and the money is falling out of the savings account.  It will be a frantic time for me as YK has university finals this week.  If I am not responding to your blogs for a while, please know that I am trying to catch up.  Happy Wednesday!

    What to type about

It has been a week!  I have had to drive all over town and that is not cheap.  I get over to the east side of town where the really slow drivers, who drive at least 10 mph under the posted speed limit always drive in the left lane. They have no clue that anyone else is around them.  What fun.

It feels like winter here and the breezes and wind should help the winter feeling continue.  People just 80 miles from here are loosing their homes to a terrible wildfire that was 90% contained 2 days ago but flared up due to these winds.  It is sad.

Tomorrow is the big surprise reveal day.  Youngest Kid never reads my stuff but I still don't want to type about the surprise until she knows what the surprise is.  I can almost picture the look on her face when she sees what we have done.  Now I have to decide what to purchase for her bridal shower gift that is on Sunday afternoon.

Last night at camera club we were reminded by an attorney what the legal aspects of photography are.  It almost makes me not want to publish( anything seen on the web or in print by at least one person) anything. I will soon get over that.

Ok, now I have to feel better and get on with this day.  Happy Friday!

Here is a photo that I took today as part of a blurred picture assignment.  I like it as the kids were having fun.
