not sure what punctuation to use for that statement- "?" 'cause i'm not sure, or "!" 'cause i'm excited, or "..." 'cause it's whatever.
here's why: if you're not already familiar, take some time to read up on The Big Four which compromise of KBMG, Ernst & Young, PwC, and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, the four largest auditing firms in the world. accounting is relevant to everyone because it is the language of business and without business, everyday people have no means to not only attain capital, but more importantly, keep track of it. whatever profession you want to be in, you will need my help or the help of the increasingly growing number of accounting majors today. doctor? businessman? teacher? artist? social worker? at the top of the career ladder are accountants. even all-important CFOs, CEOs, COOs depend on vital information provided by the reserved, introverted, cubicle rats who sit day in and day out in front of a monitor annalyzing financial data, spreadsheets, and statements.
because law schools admit various BS degree holders (dependent on LSAT scores), i chose to declare business. fortunately for me, and those who are still applying can identify, i had direct admittance into the RHSmith School of Business (now all i have to do is stay in, haha). ultimately, i want to work in the Philippines immediately post-graduation. there are several affiliates abroad, but the Isla Lipana & Co. most caught my attention. off Paseo de Roxas in downtown Makati, Isla Lipana & Co. is a partner of PwC Int'l. and is the second largest auditing/professional services firm in the Philippines. i'll be visiting their offices this June to see what it's like and potentially in the summer of '08, intern in McLean or DC.
other than that, i don't really have much else to say except the Superbowl should be good and the Wizards are gonna go all the way. ..that's what she said. |
