Wow, I love school but to be done another semester is completely relieving. My self-imposed guilt from lack of focus and time studying has finally dissipated and I am conscience free to resume my social life.
Because I am completely emancipated from my academic duties, I am now able to blog to my heart’s content. First an explaining to the beautiful site my talented sister Janna created completely on her own.
The “eagle” in the header is in fact a Kakapo. This creature is the ancient Kakapo; the world’s rarest bird. Being the only flightless and nocturnal parrot, this avian wonder is also the heaviest, weighing up to 8 lbs.
Although I am not directly involved in the effort, a creature of such uniqueness and beauty should be conserved. Currently, a program in New Zealand is desperately to increase the size of this species to more than the current 62 remaining. Therefore as an ode to the Kakapo, the above reads:
My eternal voyage to reawaken the ebbing existence of the sylphlike, avian, prince of perpetual shadows: my kakapo.
I was ecstatic over the response when, today, for the first time since registering, I had 6 comments! Thanks for all your posts, and hopefully soon I can navigate through my Xanga with ease, but please be patient.
I must tear myself away. Unfortunately I must awaken tomorrow at an obscene hour to go to work. Ahh, the sacrifices I make for my education.
Merry Christmas, everyone! |
