The story goes that Jesus comes back after his death only to find his followers have returned to their normal way of life.
After the amazing journey they have been on,
after all he has taught them
after everything...

Jesus eventually asks them (to their disbelief and even offense) if they do in fact love Him...
or if they love their fish and normal life more...

and the question remains for me today
Do I love Him
or my more familiar way of life.

Granted, I am here now...I have taken that step to follow a different, less ordinary way
but is my heart here at all
or am I just waiting for the first opportunity to go back to my normal job
my normal college
my normal life
after all that has brought me here?

I am here
and I am following you
and I am burning anything that might take me away from that...

And now for the update...

Amherst ATF '07

So amid all the caos and confusion of the past few weeks, we make it to the hotel in Hadley Mass...

A few setbacks with the Airport, them loosing luggage and one of ours getting checked in without I.D...

I get appointed as one of the drivers...and I'm now in charge of one of the Ford SUV's

Setup the next day was rather calm...just a few food runs and some time to go shopping at the local mall...

Then the next day; load-in. Being that I am a driver and we have a lack of runners, I pick up the ATF staff from their hotel and bring them to the venue. Later that afternoon I visit again and the ATF team is setting up. I now have to trasfer my script to a new script for Josh since his old one went missing. Do I really have all the needed notes...I guess we'll find out at rehearsals tomorrow...

...which usually start at 9 should the ATF staff get to the venue at 8...but not this time, rehersals is unexpectadly starting at 8am sharp...and who should call me to wake me up for this event? The one and only person you probably don't want to hear from first thing in the morning; Josh Marrano.

I rush over to the venue, no time to shower or even grab breakfast. Rehearsals go off, well, pretty badly. A few more kinks that need to be worked out with video world...and so starts a small snow ball that will soon roll into a giagantic snow beast!

One mis-communication after another, followed by not having things in on time, on top of Those in leadership wanting to run through it all on the spot, and most of them wanting us to get it right the first time...let's just say by day three everyone's nerves were shot.

But never the less, friday night came...and it all went off pretty well for a first event. The opening moment, completely different worship feel, interactive message points; I think this year's ATF is sure to soar...and then we had the live baptisms...

an part of the event most didn't think would work

the one thing that a lot had spoken out against

mostly for the sake of effort and simply giving their own oppinion

...and it worked

and will quite possibly be one of the most powerful and memorable parts of this year's event.

so there you have it...struggle strife...and even me getting yelled at a few times, and the event still happened, it still got sent off...

I think this year's ATF got more conflict than any I have been apart of...I don't know if this applies to all parts of the event, but with new greeters and roles for swat support, i'm sure it was quite a dfferent experience for everyone...

and with all the conflict how can we even think we aren't doing the right thing...because it is obviously trying to be stopped...or tear everyone up in the process.

I had to deal with a few of my own issues this past week, and maybe I'll write about that a little later...

now I'm on my way to Amherst

the first ATF of the season

it's going to be madness

most of the concepts that we have been talking about for the past few months we haven't even trested yet

like live baptisms

the opener (which looks more like a battlecry opener than anything)

and everything that might make you cringe when you think of our multiple screen setup

the drama is pretty much the only solid thing here...

and for good reason, we practiced camera blocking for two days...it's complicated

so if you find yourself attending ATF this year, prepare yourself for quite the show

even I don't know quite what to expect...

So there's a party going on at ccm tonight
it's for a shoot of course...we don't actually have fun here...
of course I would love to be apart of it all...but I'm still just the new girl
and my only job right now is to train the new team
it's hard balancing the two...ccm and atf
I just want to jump in and help..but I think I might get scolded
plus there are plenty of new people who are desprate to go somewhere in ccm...might as well let them have their fun

life as a ccmer...it's quite the transition
but there comes a point
when the only choice you have left
is to jump
headfirst
in
and claim this place as yours
and not just that thing that was forced upon you at the last minute
my house is mine
and these cupboards are mine
so i am going to help keep them clean
and I will wash the floor
when there is nothing else to do
(and that is more often than you think)
because this is my place
and these are my people
as hard as that is to say sometimes...

this place is starting to warm up to me
I have my own desk...In all my years at TM I have never had my own desk
there are two pictures here and a place for my coffee mug (not really mine...I just borrow it)
other than that it's still pretty bare
soon I'll put up all my surfing photos...not that I'm a surfer
but I think people will thaink I'm cool when I get them up...=)
I need some other stuff...but I can't think of anything creative right now

so I guess right now my job is to be as involved in everything ATF as I can be...so asside from looking at graphics and saying "yes, that will work" I spend most of my time down at the sac...
mostly I just hang out with ppeople...and I help train the new video crew
and when I reslly need to feel accomplished about something I help Josh piece the rack together...

so that is basically it
my life so far...
and everything in between
like 5am corprate
and random classes
and living wtih 10 girls in a house that doubles as the day care
it's fun =)
