So the other day, Ryan and I were driving on some side streets in Chanute back to our duplex and Ryan actually said "you darn near missed our street".  He was being serious!  I couldn't stop laughing!  For those of you who can't imagine this happening, I couldn't believe it even when I heard it!

Just another proof that we are definetly adapting to Chanute!

Below is from Ryan:

Hey Everyone,
I wanted to give you an update on the Lord's work here in Chanute.  Every step so far has been an adventure and every step has shown us a beautiful display of God's care for those who faithfully seek His will.

Most of you should know that I have been working at a Hardware store here called Cleaver Farm and Home.  The job came to me by the providence of God and has been a blessing as we transition from one town to another.  The owners and managers here have been completely supportive with the life stage Grace and I are currently in.  Through this job, I have met people that have led us to potential ministries, our apartment and now a new job.

For a couple of weeks I have been in communication with a board member from Chanute Christian Academy.  In February I had submitted my resume to them for a teaching position.  Instead of a teaching job, they began to talk to me about the Administrator job which unexpectantly became vacant on June 1st.  I was hesitant to pursue this at first, but through prayer and counsel became convinced that God might be up to something.

I studied the job description and found that most of the responsibilities are things within my skill set.  I interviewed with the school board and 2 days later they offered me the job.
After 24 hours of prayer, we decided to accept the job!
My last day here at Cleaver will be July 12 and my first day at Chanute Christian Academy will be July 17.

This job will allow me to give much time to my family as I get all the major student holidays off and only work half days during the summer.  It will also give me a platform to become a respected member of the community that can guest speak at area churches, challenging them to pray for a fresh work of God's Spirit.  Our vision for Chanute is revival.  That has not changed.  We believed this job is the perfect way to impact students, parents, other churches and the rest of the community.  Praise God!

Grace and I are so excited and also awed at the way God continues to lead our steps here.  We believe this role at the Christian school is a big reason why God brought us here, but not the only reason.
Please continue to pray for us as we are still trying to find a church home to actively participate in.

I hope you all are doing well!  Let us know how we can pray for all of you also!

Ryan, Grace, Trusten and Brahm

So Ryan is going to be a principal!!!  He will be Mr. Wheeler!  Much different from what we're used to, but God is totally at work!

If you want Ryan and I's phone number and address, please send me an e-mail.  We no longer have our cell phones.

I know I won't be updating as much and commenting on sites but I do try to check my e-mail at least once a week.  With the hassel of getting to the library and having a time limit there on the internet, I mostly try to e-mail and don't have time for Xanga.  E-mail is more personal anyways!  I look forward to hearing from some of you!

Love,

Grace

Heading home!!!

Wednesday, June 07, 2006

Well, it's true, Ryan found a cute little apartment for us in Chanute.  It's only temporary, but it's perfect for what we need right now--while we wait for our house to sell and we continue to house shop in Chanute.

Our new address is 1111 S. Plummer # D1, Chanute, KS 66720.

Ryan is already living there (he moved in last weekend) and while he was thankful to his parents for letting him live with them, he is glad to have a place of his own.  He's excited about preparing it for the three of us, when we come!

Also, soon we'll be cancelling both our cell phones and just getting a land line.  For those of you who might have been trying to call Ryan recently, his cell phone is offically shot.  T-Mobile said he'd have to buy a whole new phone, but since we don't get service in the apartment, we decided to just cancel them here in the next month or so.  So there isn't really a way to get a hold of him right now, unless he gets or makes calls at his parents house.

We'll let you all know our home phone as soon as we get it set up.

As for me and the boys, we are planning right now on moving in with Ryan this coming weekend.  We planned on being in LS longer, but Trusten really needs his dad around.  And emotionally, I just need to be with my husband.  The Lord has just been working things out so faithfully, and we know that this is for the best of all four of us.

I'll keep everyone posted on any new news.

Brahm Michael Wheeler

has arrived!!!

Brahm came into the world at noon on May 27th.  He weighed 6 lbs. 11 oz. and was 19 1/2 inches long.

I did it again with no drugs at all! Labor for me was great.  It only lasted 3 hours.  It went so fast and so smoothly.  God is so good!!!

The timing was perfect, Ryan got into town on friday night, so he was there from beginning to end since it was on Saturday morning when i started having contractions.

I didnt' expect to go into labor so soon, since I was only a few days past my due date.  with Trusten I was two and half weeks past my due date!  Trusten was also a much bigger baby (7lbs 14oz).

Speaking of trusten, he's doing great and loves to hug and kiss on brahm.  he calls him "bubba" and trys to tickle him when he's crying!

Brahm is already sleeping great at night, just waking once to eat.  he's so tiny...so sweet...so precious.

Ryan is doing well too, we're just really trying to enjoy this time with all four of us together.

I'll update with pictures soon!
