I thought I'd update any of you that still read about what's been going on in my life.

On June 9th of this year, I married the most amazing man in the world, Aaron. We live in Fort Worth where he goes to school at Southwestern Seminary and I stay at home. :)

Backwards a little further...I continued going to Criswell for the spring semester, and during that time I worked as a grader for a professor at the college and also as a waitress in my hometown (100 miles away) on the weekends. I commuted to Dallas and back many times, and once Aaron and I started courting in March, I also went to Fort Worth frequently. :)

As I mentioned, we started courting in mid-March, and we were engaged on April 10th and married on June 9th. :) It was perfect, and still is.

While Aaron goes to school and works at the seminary, I've started keeping a little girl in our home on weekdays. Her name is Alexa, and she's 15 months. She's a handful, but we enjoy having her a lot :)

I guess that's about it, we've made a lot of new friends here, especially our neighbors, Josh, Rosie, and little Esther. They're such a blessing to us, and we have great times together. :D

Well, I guess that about it. I have changed blogs, I now occaisonaly write at http://afruitfulvine.wordpress.com

Hope everyone is doing well!

Friday, September 15, 2006

Today I slept till 10....it felt so good. I can't even remember the last time I did that, but that's probably a good thing.

Anyway, all my classes are going really well, and I'm enjoying being there so much. God's really been good to me, bringing me to Criswell. This college is more than I ever imagined. I'm hoping to move up there sometime soon, I think as soon as I can get a few things straightened out I'll start looking for an apartment and a job up there. It would be a lot easier than driving up there.

Well, today, I pretty much just puttered around the house, just doing stuff. I straightened up my room, I needed to do that. I straightened up some other stuff too, it was nice to just do stuff around the house.

Last night I watched Braveheart with my mom and dad while I crocheted. I'm working on several afghans/lapghans for Christmas presents. So far I've got one for my Grandpa almost done. It'll be a lot more affordable for me than hunting around for stuff, and I think my family seems to enjoy the things I make. Besides, who doesn't need an extra afghan?

Oh yeah, before I go, I guess I'll add that I'm on MySpace now. I really still enjoy Xanga better, but so many people are moving over there that I finally decided to get one. My address is http://www.myspace.com/the_graceful_lady if any of you are on there.
Adios!

Monday, August 28, 2006

I really should update.....

I'll just do a semi update . Classes are going really good, and I'm managing to stay awake for the most part. :) Getting up at 5 a.m. 3 mornings a week hasn't been as hard as I thought it would be, actually. After I'm up for a few minutes, I'm very oddly energetic for it to be before dawn.

Well, I really should go and study, so I'll go ahead and get off of here.

Haha, I was looking through some old pictures of reenactments and I found this one. Enjoy

But, alas, that is no more. I tend to xanga in spurts. Oh well.

Yesterday was Orientation at Criswell! I'm so excited, I can't wait to start classes. A few months ago I was so unsure as to where I would be going to college, and God opened up so many doors that led me to Criswell, it's just amazing. We'll see if I go back next semester though, after this one ends, I'll be broke unless I can get a job that will work with my hours. Pray for me, please, that my eyes would be open to any guidance that God gives.

There's not a whole lot to say about orientation I guess....except that it was good.

Oh!!

I almost forgot to post, some of you were around when I announced here that my older sister Michelle was due to have a baby in early August. Well....early August has come and gone, and I have a new niece! Her name is Harlie Grace, and I'll try to upload some pictures on here as soon as I can!

Well, I guess that's about it. I'm off to change the quote on my sidebar Later!

Monday, June 26, 2006

Ok, I think I've returned comments to everyone's sites.... If I left you out, forgive me!

There's just so much that I could say about the mission trip and so little time and finger muscles, so I'll try to keep this short.

First of all, it was an amazing trip, and I have to say that I've never been more at ease and at home with a group of people that I had never met before (more to come on that later...). Well, we went to a really small town in Kansas (pop. 1,000) to do a VBS program with a church there. We actually had a pretty good turn out of kids, considering that it was a town of that size. Several people shared stories of some kids that seemed affected by the gospel being presented, and we're still praying for God to work in their hearts as He wills.

I was in the nursery with one of my best friends (amazing story of how we became friends, I might share that later), and we had 1-3 babies in there. It went well in there, and I think for two 17 year old non-mothers we did excellent.

One thing I have to say though, in conclusion, I have never been with another group of people, escpecially teenagers, that was so concerned with how their actions represented Christ. It was amazing how well they could have fun and still have hearts directed toward the gospel. They were an encouragement and a breath of fresh air to me.

Ok, pictures!!!

All of us! Except for Christy, she volunteered to take the pictures. This is in front of a house built in 1881 on a ranch. It was neat.

Guy that we saw in Wal-Mart in Kansas and we just HAD to have a pictures with him. Note: I am 5 feet tall, as are the woman and girl beside me. I forgot how tall he was, but goodness was it TALL. The funny thing was, there were a LOT of tall people in Wal-Mart....weird

The girls! l. to r., Kylene, Me, Samantha, Sara, and Tonna

Hahaha, Aaron and Sara. They look so funny, I love this pic!

The three of us! I like this picture too, and Aaron and Sara look good, but I look a little crazy faced there.

Me and Sara! We look so cute

Ok, that's it for now folks! If you want to see all of the ones that I have, you can go to http://photos.yahoo.com/the_graceful_lady

And just in case anybody is interested....today is my 18th birthday!!

Thursday, June 15, 2006

I'm back! We had a really good time on vacation, it really brought the four of us together a lot, since we've all been so busy. We went to San Antonio for about 3 days and just hung out there.

I'm just giving a little update before I'm off for the next week. I'm going on a mission trip with a church that a couple of my friends go to outside of Ft. Worth. We'll be doing a VBS program in Kansas, and I would really appreciate your prayers while we're gone.

Off to do laundry and pack!

                   Meghan

P.S. Today was my last day at work, I had to quit because I needed different pay and different hours for when I start at Criswell. I'm pretty sure Wal-Mart will hire me, but I would appreciate your prayers about that as well, mainly that I would leave it in God's hands to do as He wishes.

Saturday, June 03, 2006

Like the new look?

Well, there's not much going on, except that graduation is over and life goes on. That's it, except that I'm off of work this next week because my family and I are going on a little vacation.

Talk to y'all later!

                   Meghan

Monday, May 22, 2006

Well, there's not much to write about, except all the things on my to-do list. Graduation is getting closer and closer!

I'm at the community college campus right now, I was making my PowerPoint slideshow in their computer lab and now I'm just sitting around. Oh yeah, I don't remember if I mentioned it in my last post or not, but I'm looking for a new job. Since I'll be starting at Criswell next semester, I need to get a job where I can work more evenings and Saturdays (no Sundays for me). So far, Wal-Mart is the most promising. They are willing to work with my hours and they'll give me much better wages than I could possibly get at the place where I am now. The thing is, they want me to turn 18 before I start. My birthday is in about 4 weeks, so I'll see if they still have a job for me when I apply again.

I guess I'll get off of here and go on over to Wal-Mart and pick up my pictures I got developed. You know, this is one reason why I don't usually post on here, whenever I actually start a post, my summary of my activites is so dull I usually don't ever post it. Oh well!

                  Meghan

Monday, May 15, 2006

Ok, well, news:

The play was great! Everyone did a great job, and we're all really sad to see it end. It was so much fun, and all of us always get so close in the months of preparation for it. I've got some pictures, and some videos, and I think I'll put them on photobucket so that everyone can see them. *edit* - I've uploaded all my cell phone pics and videos to my photobucket account. To look at them, go to http://s28.photobucket.com/albums/c215/thereformedlady/ and use the password "mypics" to look at them. Keep in mind they were all taken with my cell phone, so they aren't that great of a quality.

Well, I think that I may also be getting a cold. I think it's just allergies or something, but I did just wake up from a two hour nap, so I don't know.

Well, in other news, I think I'll just post what I instant messaged a friend of mine. If I just post what I sent him, it'll save me some time.

Meghan (5/15/2006 5:23:11 PM): The first night went very well, we had a lot of people show up to watch it and we all went very smoothly. Sadly, the first time we had been all the way through the play in one sitting was at the dress rehearsal the day before. At the actual performance, all of us were amazed that we all came together and it worked out. It could only be the result of prayer from all us, because I can tell you, all of us were praying.

Meghan (5/15/2006 5:26:51 PM): The second day, we didn't have to be at the church until 4:30 for hair and makeup. I was spending my first day "off" that week relaxing and sleeping in. Around noon, I heard the phone ring. My dad answered it (yes, I was awake, just in my room) and didn't come get me for anything, so I didn't think much of it. When I walked through the kitchen to get something, he said very nonchalantly, "Oh yeah, Travis C. had a wreck, Tami Keys called to ask us to pray for him." While he went back to his business, I went into hysterics. "Is he ok??? Is he dead? Alive? What Happened?????" His response: "Uhhh, I dunno. Do you know him?" "Ahhhhh!!!! Yes, I know him! He's in the play tonight and he's graduating in two weeks!!"

Meghan (5/15/2006 5:29:23 PM): Needless to say, I was slightly frustrated. After several phone calls, I managed to get a hold of Jonathan on his cell phone. He told me that Travis had a gash on his head and cuts on his arms. He rolled his car two times on some back roads as he was on his way to his Senior Piano Recital. Well, since I knew he was alive, I was happy. Later, I found out that Pastor L. would be taking Travis' place in the play.

Meghan (5/15/2006 5:33:22 PM): Later, when I got to the church, we all ended up smooshed in a hallway talking about Travis. Someone asked Mrs. L. (director) if Pastor L. was still taking Travis' place, and she said "Well....we're actually going to be praying that Travis can make it back in time to be in the play tonight. We'll postpone the play for 30 min. and wait for him to get here." Talk about a jaw dropper! At this moment, Travis was in a hospital an hour away, getting x-rays to see if he had any broken bones! We were also only 3 hours away from starting, but all of us were really hoping he would be back in time.

Meghan (5/15/2006 5:37:34 PM): The closer it got to 7:30, the more of us crowded around the back entrance to watch for him. We went ahead and had our prayer before the performance like we always do, and it was so good. All of us were so thankful that Travis was alive, and now we were just hoping that he could make it back. We all went back to the door to watch for him with all our makeup and costumes on, and right at 7:40, Travis walked up to the door. Man, you should have heard us. We all clapped, and all of us hugged him, it was great. Poor guy, he had an ugly bandage on his wrist and bandaids all over his hand from where he tried to protect his face from the breaking glass. He had 6 staples in his head from where he hit/scraped it on something.

Meghan (5/15/2006 5:38:59 PM): But he was all there, so we decided to go ahead and start. When he walked onto the stage for the first time in the first act, the whole audience clapped for him. Most of them knew who he was and why we were delaying the play, so it was great.

Meghan (5/15/2006 5:41:16 PM): You know, it's really sad that something like this is what has to make us appreciate the people around us, but that's what it did for me. I never realized how much I love this group of people, they all mean so much to me. I'm not even that close to Travis, but he's always been there. He's one of "the group", and I've taken that for granted with so many people.

Meghan (5/15/2006 5:45:27 PM): The thing is, Jonathan and I were talking while he was getting dressed and everything, and Jonathan started talking about how, you know, God's really blessed all of us by letting us have Travis here with us. I said something how God is so good to us, and he said "But, you know, God would have still been good if he had taken Travis' life this morning. You know why? Because God would be blessing Travis instead of us then. Yeah, we'd be sad, but think how happy Travis would be." It was just so good. By the time he ended, I was crying again. He was so right when he said that, and it really hit home.

It really is sad that something like this is what it takes to get our attention. Any of us could go at anytime, and we take everyone's presence for granted everyday. I honestly never realized how much everyone around here meant to me. I've grown up with most of them, and I'll be graduating with several of them in a few weeks. I'm not saying that I've never cared for these people, I always have and always will love them, it's just been a wake up call to be more involved in their lives I guess. Now that I've gotten this "wake up call" that I've been sometimes wrong in my attitude toward people, I just hope that other people have realized it too.
