First post of new year! don't expect too much kids...

Last year was ok...why is it we always hope the next year will be better? I think last year was better than some of the previous years though so maybe I'm on an upwards trend here?

Holidays were lovely. Much needed time off was had. Had to return to work too soon...and now it's back to school. I felt overwhelmed the first day before I even saw all my classes. I have a lot of observations and stuff like that to do this semester (how do people that work full time actually complete these classes?) and lots of curriculum plans and stuff like that. Not so much writing papers and things like that...so much to do still! I should be getting ahead at the beginning and I kinda am but not really. At least I"m slightly ahead with my reading. So many books.
Hey maybe I'll post venting/stress posts this semester later! Aren't you excited about that?

I have to read 2 children's books from a choice of 3 of 7 categories of literature and write about one. What are some of your favorite childhood books or kids books you'd recommend? If none are suggested Im' going to my early childhood lit book and picking some I haven't read. They can be anything from picture books and fables/folk tales to children's novels. And no I'm not reading Harry Potter books! Something short please!
Anyways...I should get back to school and start researching the Suggestopedia approach to teaching a 2nd language (I picked it because the name sounded cool).

So it hasnt' been a month but I guess I'll make another entry anyways!

I have like 3 more days, a paper and an internet resource project and I shall be done with my first semester of graduate school! hooray! I registered for classes and it looks like I'll be spending over $300 on books again in addition to my $3,000+ for tuition! How exciting.

I'm not too much into the holidays...I mean I know Christmas is coming up but the reality hasn't hit yet. We have all our Christmas decorations up. I have 2 gifts made so far and I need to order some online and pick up a few more. I don't really buy for a whole lot of people...pretty much my family...so it's easy.
I'm going to make a gingerbread house...hopefully this weekend. I'm excited. I haven't made one since I was a kid. I don't know why other people dont' share my enthusiasm.
My hair looks funny in the mornings when I wake up. Sometimes it sticks up/out in places. But I like short hair...so much easier. Everyone likes it or doesn't say anything negative. hah.
I should really stop procrastinating schoolwork. I tend to do that at the end of the semester.

Looky what I didy!

2 feet of chopped off hear is kinda freakish to look at and hold...like some sort of dead animal. ok done being creepy. So umm yeah had most of my hair chopped off and I was traveling the past two weeks.
Now I really should finish editing my paper and e-mail it to my instructor. Is it bad that I send it after our normal class time? hmm...

I keep getting headaches. It's getting annoying. Yesterday, I had one from  being dehydrated and not eating for 7 hours...oh and getting 4-5 hours of sleep. Saturday I had one half the day. I had another one somewhere inbetween too. grrr. I don't know how migraine suffers deal with it.

I guess I'm doing ok. Nothing too exciting. Looks like another weekend of studying...oh wait that didn't happen last weekend 'cause I had a headache! hah! It's not like I'd have anything better to do...I'd just watching too many cooking shows on PBS and sit around in my pj's most of saturday...and nap Sunday afternoon. So yeah...no biggie. I waste enough time during the week. I'm about halfway through with another doily...yes crocheting doilies is my new slight obsession. They look pretty though! And no, I don't have a collection of doilies on all my furniture, I've given them to my mom and the newest one is for grandma...for Christmas. Guess I'll be ok with my Christmas gifts after all. Bah who wants to think about Christmas in October!
I wish we'd get more Christmas-like weather though...tomorrow's high is a "warm" 90. warm? stupid weather man. Get cooler already! I have no working a/c here weather man! Take that!
A girl in one of my online classes wants me to call her...what she's never heard of e-mail? I mean it is an online class for crying out loud! I thought I wasn't meant to have real human contact! I just hate phones...mostly. Except when people call me...I don't hate them so much then.

Today we had a "family day". My dad got a time share at Ron Jon's resort in Cocoa Beach area. It's a pretty nice place. The rooms were nice...not that we're staying there (my mom and her sisters are using it friday and saturady). But the pool was the best part. They had a like 5 story water slide and a lazy river. I love lazy rivers. They had other little kiddie areas and a regular pool part. Then we played miniature golf...and I beat my brother...hah only because he decided we'd play whoever had the fewest strokes would win the hole and if there was a tie at a hole then you'd keep going and accumulate the points and whoever won on subsequent holes got all those points. We went about 5 holes in a tie...and then I had a brush of luck. I just find it amusing since he plays golf..or at least used to.

I have schoolwork to finish. I ended up doing stuff friday and saturday night so not much homework got done. I have 4 hours and 5 minutes left. hah. Man, I really ought to post stuff sooner.
