New Blog!

Wow, this blog didn't last very long at all, did it! I've decided to try my hand at blogging again, but this time at a different site. Come visit me at my new blog!

Thanks to everyone who has dropped by and made me feel somewhat welcome.  (Even those of you who think me and Mark look alike.)  Some random bits of information for you today:

The lady next to me at work has been quizing everybody at work in an attempt to identify who among us is a sociopath.  You will all be thrilled to learn that I am not a sociopath -- though she still thinks I may be a psychopath.  Can't imagine why she'd think that.  There is an online test if you were wondering about yourself.

Saw Nicholas Nickleby on DVD and ate pizza last night with the guys from my small group.  Excellent movie.

Beer is good -- especially when you make it yourself.

I successfully renewed my driver's license today.  I had to make a second trip because the first time I went their camera wasn't working.  Looking at my picture I think it still isn't working.  None of my natural sex appeal comes across at all.  Very disappointing.

I've never heard their music, but Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band had to be one of the best band names ever.  And they're from Boone, too!

Had a pretty good weekend. Friday night I attended the first ever performance in the Pin Drop House Concert series started by Blaine and Leah Howard.  Blaine and Leah are both singer-songwriter types who came to Charlotte with the relocation Billy Graham's headquarters -- which is how I met them. The evening featured an opening set by Charlotte's Rick Spreitzer and two sets by Carrboro-based Jason Harrod. If you haven't heard either of these artists before you should check them out -- both were excellent.

I'm afraid the rest of my weekend wasn't quite as exciting. Went to the UNCC library and ran some errands on Saturday. Sunday I went to church, had lunch with a couple of the guys from church, and then watched the race and vegetated in front of the tv. Kasey Kahne had a top ten finish, if anyone was wondering.

This week: renewing my driver's license!

So its 12:30 at night and I just jumped on the blog bandwagon.  So I'm now writing my first post.  I have no idea why -- no one even knows I have blog.  I guess if you post it, they will come.  Or something like that.  I'm may be thinking to hard for 12:30 at night.

Hopefully this'll be a place where I can post interesting events in my life, cool music or movies I've been listening to and watching lately, interesting stories I may have heard on NPR during my commute -- sort of a random, eclectic bookmark list.  I'm sure from time to time I may even get on a soapbox about some issue or another.

Anyways, that is the idea.  We will see how this turns out.  What in all probability will happen is that I'll do the above for a month or two and then get distracted by a shiney object and forget all about this.

Its now 12:45.  I think I'll go to bed.
