dedicated to my bao bei...long overdue.

8-2-07 was our 6 months together! and it's also the last time we would be able to celebrate our monthly anniversaries in a long time...=/...we will have to wait until january.

but remembering how we celebrated it is quite amusing. my bao bei came back from tennis camp on that very day august 2nd. but she came back too late and we weren't able to go out because her dad said no. i was sad because i had planned to take her to one of two places: brea mall's cheesecake factory where we held hands for the first time or to irvine spectrum where we spent our first valentines day together. but my bao bei promised to make it up to me the next day and that she would do the surprise planning so we both looked forward to it.

=) ahahaha and she definitely surprised me. we ended up going to where i wanted to go, brea mall's cheesecake factory. we had our fun and ate sooo much...and ended up ordering a cheesecake which we hardly ate at all and eventually melted in my car...lol. then afterwards, she surprised me the most by giving me directions to SPEEDZONE!!! ahahaha i've always wanted to go race there and my bao bei remembered! that place was pretty cool. i was freakin good at drifting that she couldn't keep up...=) jk she was probably letting me..... that was soo fun ahaha. we went on drag races and various racetracks woot! and in the parking lot afterwardssss....i gave her a 6 months anniversary ring =). hehehe she loves it! and yea, it was a special day for us. i love her so much <3

fast forward 3 weeks...and now i'm up here in berkeley. 400 miles away from her. it takes awhile to get used to the fact that i won't be able to see her everyday or even every week. no more days when i could walk up in back of her in those memorable whs halls and hug her from behind. no more walking past her classrooms when i'm ditching class...no more afterschool lunches together...there's so many things that won't happen again like they did in my senior year =/.

but...life goes on...time waits for no one...so i'll just have to adapt to my changes now. as of writing this sentence...i have 85 days 12 hours 2 minutes and 28 seconds before i can fly back home for thanksgiving and see my bao bei again. but i'll be constantly counting...and waiting...to hold her in my arms again.

=) my bao bei and i at cheesecake factory

she is trying to be artistic here with our cheesecake lol

lol...i'm about to eat it

yayyyy speedzoneeeeee!!!!

<3 i love her

lolllll....

JAWS

This entry is dedicated to the team that i have given my life to, Just Add Water (JAWS). the team was started 5 years ago by andrea tseng in her sophomore year, and later with eugene kim as co-captain. then the captainship was passed down to alan leung and kingston. afterwards, me, justin, and joe took up the helm. looking back, i remember those early sundays when andrea would call my house phone to wake me up for practice...oh man lol wat a long way things have come. it would be a lie to say that the years have been easy for the team, especially during the years under alan and me. nevertheless, we've been able to pull through.

these years i've been in jaws have all been for this tournament the past weekend: the 2007 viewsonic long beach dragonboat festival. having missed both last year's viewsonic race and this year's annual long beach high school race in april...i felt as if i haven't been able to live up to my own dedication to my team. last year's result for the viewsonic race were not the best and i felt partially responsible for that. i wanted this year, my last year, to be the best and for everyone to see just how damn good jaws is.

i got what i wished for:

1st place GOLD for Mixed Division IIIB A-group with a final heat time of 2:29:15

4th place BRONZE for High School Division A with a final heat KILL TIME of 2:24:73....LOL 10 seconds faster than...

i've had plenty of memories with this team. despite all the tardies, cancellations, and groggy-eyed mornings, i would never trade these memories for anything. even though our team members were often reluctant to wake up sunday mornings, they still ended up rowing and i thank each and every one of them for that. we've had quite a few firsts on the team. first time that anyone has fallen out of the boat in jaws history...and the first time we've had to swim to the boat to keep it from drifting farther away...

this team, which i gave my every ounce of dedication, rewarded me with the best that any captain could ever wish for. thank you jaws, i love you guys.

a shoutout to each one of you.

adrian- a good pacer. keep it up for the team.

andrea- drew, thank you for sticking with the team. ahaha, i enjoy seeing you groggy in the mornings...makes me feel better about myself lol

caroline- despite all ur busy hockey schedules, you stayed with JAWS. ahaha, us 07 seniors rock! thanks.

whitney- lol, i wonder how long i'll still get to see u on ur fobby scooter? good luck with vball but make sure to have time for jaws too.

jessica- thanks sis, make sure to keep me updated on the team

jennifer- keep up the su family dboat line

ryan- gotta make sure to replicate our amazing v-8 engine this year. i'm expecting the team to fly out of the water next year ahaha

mel- thank you for all ur work all these years.

joemari- ur 4 crazy cheers for the team, i think they'll continue to be used for many years ahahhaa.

frank c- thank you stowers buddy. holy crap may be disbanded as a team, but there's always room for you on JAWS

justin- thank you co-captain for all those trips we had to make for fundraising and wat not.

yi- u really need an alarm clock. but thanks for showing up and not boning out.

frank- i'm glad u or yi didn't leave on saturday or else things might not have turned out the way they did. good luck in ucla

josh- you and those in ur grade are the new blood. remember to recruit them. i will look forward to watching you at the head in a few years.

andrew- roo, ahaha u just make things funny even though u don't say much. stick with the team, and i'll be seeing u around.

ellen- awkward turtle...i definitely won't miss u driving around in justin's car in the parking lot, but i'll still miss ya ahaha. see u around

samee- man...i had to see that fat guy at ur community's gate everytime i dropped u off...that was lame...oh well ahaha. i thank you for ur dedication.

zach- good luck in junior olympics but make sure to leave some time for the team.

allan- keep ur head high even when others might pick on you. plus, they're just messing around. thank you for ur time and i'll do my best to see if they have another extra gold medal for the one u had to give up.

with the banquet this past friday, i finally passed down my captainship that i have carried for a year. i have to admit, sometimes it felt quite heavy because of all the problems and things i had to deal with. but now looking back, it was all worth it. i'm proud to have been the captain of jaws 06-07.

mel, ryan, and adrian: you 3 now carry the torch of the team. this torch has been burning for 5 years and hopefully it will continue to burn for many years to come. i know you 3 will accomplish even better things than my year and i wish you guys the best of luck. you have two years to rock the waters. ur now JAWS captains, be proud.

so...it's been 2 months since i last updated this xanga...wayyyy too many things have happened. wow...senior year is coming to an end...dang. things are rushing by so quickly. it feels kinda like i'm in limbo right now. pretty much done with high school, haven't yet entered the intense college years yet...just in-between. feels pretty damn good...so LD ahaha. well...to make things simple i'll just categorize my thoughts by the list of events that have happened up to now. my imageshack is loading 121 pictures right now so hopefully by the time i'm done writing the freakin text part of the entry...it will be done uploading. here goes:

4/13, six flags with my love: yay, maj fun day ahaha. parents on both sides actually agreed to let us go! ahaha, drove on the interstate 5 for the second time...i hated that cursed freeway but now it's all good. rode on X, tatsu, and something...i forgot ahaha. too busy being happy around my dear =). fun times <3

4/20, japanese senior dinner: dinner with oyama sensei along with all the seniors in japanese! tepanyaki at a place called Chomps in fullerton. playing with fire is cool...

4/30, color me mine: =) asked liz to prom at color me mine in long beach! wow...that idea took forever to think up...i had headaches thinking of a creative way to ask her. original idea was to use kites...but oh yesh the wind factor can be reliable...too risky. thanks to anna for the suggestion during our eng project (when we were busy watching the OC...) ahahaha oh man. sooo...i took liz to color me mine and we chose a vase for me and a cup for her. uhh yea...i'm not artist so the entire place felt too artsy crafty for me. but...nevertheless i made an amazing vase (better than liz's cup for sure =P) and then i blindfolded her. i then wrote "prom?" on the vase and brought in the lavender roses, and took off her blindfold. and....she wrote "yes!" on the bottom of the msg.

5/5, "meet the parents": had an outing with liz and her parents...lol i was maj nervous at first. so wat better way to introduce myself than to bring along my hungarian wine as a gift? looolll....but yea, it was fun. PLUS...i realized how much more liz eats than me...-__-...she's a monster. seafood, appetizers, fruit tea, shaved ice, and then chinese dried tofu...BUT i still love her =). her parents were chill and funny, not the traditional scary ones...whew

5/8, cif wild card game: 3 hour bus ride to bakersfield in the middle of nowhere. (from jp): "WE CAME ALL THIS WAY JUST TO SHOW THEM HOW TO PLAY TENNIS?" lol...that pretty much sums up the game quite nicely. -__-...the more entertaining part was actually the bus ride itself with joel, jp, venkat, and whoever else singing along to watever music came out of josh's ipod speakers. i think the speakers were blown by the time we finally came home at around 10...

5/10, justin's prom asking: woke up damn early to help justin to ask ellen to prom. close encounter with a fat kreg cop when he pulled around the corner and saw us drawing with chalk on the street. that fat kreg really had nothing better to do than interrupting us.

5/18, PROM: one of the best days of my life! so i ended up getting a pure white tux (for free woot) and a red-orange tie to match with liz's gorgeous dress. so, i went to pic liz up at around 3 i think. but apparently it was supposed to be 3:30...and i ended up waiting for her to put on her makeup and accessories and all that girly stuff. ahaha  it was worth the wait because my bao bei turned out drop-dead beautiful =). took pics at imagix in tc, maj large crowd. then LDed with others and took some pics. finally decided to drive to laguna beach on interstate 5 (and no...there wasn't traffic going south). mm, apparently we arrived too freakin early to las brisas because liz's other friends hadn't arrived yet. so me and liz just walked near the beach...everyone just stared at us...-__-....an old couple even came up to us and said "congratulations"....they thought we got married -__-....but yea, i got more compliments than liz did WOOTTTT! las brisas was pretty cool with the other people. then....PROM DANCE! location was interesting at seven degrees. waited forever for the caricature...but still got enough time to dance with my bao bei. ahaha, umm...i think that was the first time i actually danced. wow...all thanks to my bao bei for making it so fun and letting me feel comfortable <3.

5/20, senior retreat: the camp was decent, but i think it was overrated. but then again i got to take into account the bonding experiences with both my cabin members and the class as a whole. my cabin 5 was pretty tight with bryan, eric, venkat, yi, james, and justin. and then we had michael sok's group in there with us ahahaha. the random rants during the night were freakin hilarious..."she robbed me!" ahahaha. good stuff. then there was the hiking adventure that we did as a group when we ditched the meeting...ended up kinda getting lost for awhile...and then we found a lake! stupid fisherman jajing that we would find a bear in the early morning if we went out there...oh yesh. hmm...then i got owned in ultimate frisbee and sprained my ankle pretty badly...so there goes all the rock climbing and biking that i could have done...greatttt...oh wells. camp was still pretty fun i gotta admit, especially the heartwarming campfire that we had as a class with our senior performances and of course sean's dedication to our class with his guitar solo. good times 07.

5/26, last WHSMUN conference: you have no clue how relieved i was to finally reach that day. finally no more bs jaj crap from rosenfag and his ridiculous grading policies that do not make mathematical sense. as i look back on my 4 years in MUN...i have to admit that i have still gained some skills during this time. speaking publicly was never my strong point but now i've learned to overcome it. and of course, all the wonderful memories with both the upperclassmen and underclassmen will stay with me. mission viejo with neil's prank calls...those were the good old days. and LOL...daniel kim with his hotel room incident...i guess we'll never find out wat the hell he was doing in there for more than 1 hour locked in the room...ahahaha. the conference itself was good. neil and vyas did a good job planning, and i was the godly FUTURE CRISIS DIRECTOR! even though it's fun playing god and controlling all the events...it was hectic and chaotic as hell trying to synchronize 4 committees simultaneously while maintaining an interesting crisis at the same time. man...maj tiring. thank you to my crisis chairs marian, kelly, ericka, and eric chan in future sc. a good conference to end my 4 years of mun.

5/28, SENIOR PRANK: this has got to be the craziest senior prank EVER PULLED! it tops every single prank because of the complexity AND durability against all those useless custodians. wow, i've never been so proud of my class. ahahhaa for some reason, our class seem to be the best at getting together and doing bad stuff looolll. but anyways, it was amazing to see so much of our classmates at whitney at around 6pm working around the clock on the prank. we had a all-purpose shredding team in the office creating all the shreds we needed to cover the entire school floor. then we had the buff people hauling all the chairs and tables while others filled up inflatable pools and or set up the BEARICADE lolll. oh man...pictures will do better than words at showing how crazy the prank was. Class of 2007, our prank is going down in history!

5/30, varsity tennis banquet: well a good tennis season finally came to an end. even though i was only able to be part of the team for just one year, i was still glad to be a part of it. the fun parts during the season were not necessarily found on the tennis courts, but rather in the bus rides, quickly boba runs, and all the other LD times we had with each other. ahahaha, i'm glad to have gotten to know the new freshmen along with all the returning varsity players. captain will cho with his random comments..."BIG MISSILES," "i'd tap that," and "let's get high." -__-...then there's venkat the "buddha" guava and james the "so chill" snake charmer as captains too. andrewmon and vincent the cardinal hulk....and the new varsity seniors with me as the lion, tyler as the lone wolf, justin as the gecko, and eric as...iono wat the heck he was...then the new freshies daniel the koala, andrew the "so good looking" kangaroo, wes the damn lucky walrus, and josh the monkey. wow....so much team bonding ahahaha. and of course, special thanks to joel and jp for the lift onto the team.

6/8, aloha dance: my last whitney dance as a student of the school....=/. kinda sad that my stumpy couldn't go because of her chinese finals. ahaha, i pretty much just sat in senior square with venkat, eric, and charles. the dj was straight up horrible and i couldn't believe that we actually paid for such a crappy one. so...instead of dancing i took pictures with people ahaha. the last song of the dance was rather sad because suddenly a lot of the seniors started crying and hugging each other...really sad.

ok soooooo....here are the pics that everyone has been waiting to see....there's a lot...lol
